  1. I had the exact same problem with my springfield, and Chip McCormics in both 8 and 10 rounders(.45 cal) got the dial calipers out.....my ammo was 1.260....too long for .45 ACP! shortened them to 1.245 and they feed 100% and I can fill them to full capacity! give it a look. Hopalong
  2. I personally don't use Fiber Optics........so I have not used, or seen any! HOP
  3. I've kicked this around with my AD. There will be no changes to Revolver division until it gets more participation!!!! If it gets enough to warrant any kind of change, most likely an OPEN will be added and Revolver will be the same. So there will be Open Revo and Revo(as it is now) under the blanket Revolver division....But participation will have to go WAY up for them to even talk about it. (like closer to 100 wheels at USPSA Nationals)....30 won't get it. (which would be a 50% increase from last year) But if it ever happens...... I'd say 6 shooters only in REVO then maybe LTD revos and Open Revos....who knows? HOP
  4. Bwana.......... Sounds good!!! I love it when the bottom feeders find out what a real challenge is. Haras........ I'll take one. On a side note, I shot with a pretty good wheelgunner today at the Memphis match...... Said he might be at the State match in may....depended on work. Not counting on it until I see the whites of his eyes. Hop Also.... with wayne signed up it leaves the Aeysens, and Dead I doc on that list...... Need a few more.
  5. OK, Several with slots already..... Let's hear it who already has the slots..... Miculek Sweeney Carmoney Carden Smith Ulfers Mainus Keen Spruiell Walsh Vastlectia Lafave Perdue Nesbitt That is 14 already....even before "first come first served" slots Memory is going with the hair.....who else? HOP
  6. Oh Dr. Dremmell....... You can't fool me!!! That is one of your "Procedures" that you have tactfully attempted to make look like a 50 year old article in some gun rag! We may be a bunch of HILLJACKS down here but we wern't born yesterday! BTW, nice down here this morning. 58 degrees and I'm headed out in 10 minutes to capture me a stringer full of nice fat Bass Fish........what is your weather like up there? Hopalong the Bass Slayer!!!
  7. Glenn, Tell John he'd better spill the beans......... Or we'll tell everyone this is all a big JOKE and tell them to stay home! That'll get him going if nothing will........We can try just as hard to NOT get anyone to come as getting them!!! Hope the ICORE test drive works out for you guys Sunday! HOPALONG
  8. Thanks Roy! I don't pay much attention to the stages any more, just look to see if any odd starts ect. Looking forward to blasting with everyone down there. Need a little "polishing" ....well OK, a good bit more polishing but ready or not, I'll be there. HOPALONG

  10. Took my 13 year old (at the time) 11-87 I had used for Duck hunting and did it in the Basement!!!!! Since I have owned it (90) it has not ejected only 2 times!!!!!! all other things work fine. If it quits tomorrow I can't be mad.....a little sad but not mad. if I had to buy one tomorrow I guess it would be whatever Benny tells me to get.....SINCE he built my pretty new LTD gun. HOPALONG
  11. Ya'll are going to RUIN the Revolver division !!!!!!!! With all this fancy stuff you are putting on and in them. Turning the simplest division into an equipment race! Sgdm thumblactch, Titainium Cylinders, Fiber Optic front sights, skeleton hammers.............. What next? A chain drive for the cylinder and a cyclic rate of 500 rounds a minute!!!!! Hopalong Going back to limited because of the EQUIPMENT race in Revolvers !!!!
  12. I hate that after 3 years and 200,000+ rounds I broke my XL650! I also hate that I was only half a gallon from having every .40 S&W empty case reloaded when it crashed. Hop
  13. Ha !!!! you guys are going to give dan the unearned big head! He's already getting too much like Carmoney now!!!! Now tone it down on the DAN style stuff......We all know he has no STYLE !!! Hopalong
  14. Matt Who ?????? Let me add: Memphis Airport 1 1/2 hours Nashville Airport 3 hrs Huntsville, Al 2 hrs You can connect out of memphis to Tupelo MS.....45 min to the hotels. On the match on Sunday..... Usually 5 or 6 stages is our normal match running around 125 rounds...... Plan on 6 with 150. (We have LOTS of steel!) but don't always use it We also have about any and every prop you might see at even the USPSA Nationals(Including a TX star!). This is the range where the Mississippi 3-gun was hosted and only had 1 question for a 3 day match........and only 1 steel calibration......for country bumpkins we do OK Hope to see you in July......Oh yeah I forgot....... I would like to invite you and your wheelgun to Jackson Mississippi ...actually Byram just South of Jackson. To the Mississippi Classic USPSA match in May...ONLY thing you need is a wheelgun, LOTS of ammo, an open mind and a USPSA member number. John Heiter will squad you up with other wheelgunners to everyone can talk shop while having a big time!!! 16. The model I looked at was a 3 inch chambered "Magnum" the reciever and barrel are remington green/Olive drab colored. it has a 4 position stock like an M4 AR-15 an improved cylinder non threaded 22 inch barrel and mag tube extension allowing the gun to hold 8+1....I'm told...did not check. The barrel is also non ribbed, and has a single standard shotgun "ball" sight. The stock did have one of the good simms labratory butt pads on it though. Going Price on it at that gunstore was $565.00 A little stiff for a pump? Might see how low he'll go....Thinking about going to HE-man/Heavy metal in 3 gun this might be the trick gun. Any body seen any of these? Or even better....tried one out? HOPALONG
  17. Brit.... That sounds about right. Maybe Tom Mainus will pop in here and tell you how he does it....He's wrong handed too. HOP
  18. DM, I don't know if I quallify as I'm just a dummy that shoots. but here goes. I do both, according to direction of movement to help avoid the 180. IF it doesn't matter I do a strong hand reload similar to Mr. Miculek as that is the one I have practiced more and am faster and more consistant with. NOW with that said....... You need to try them both, under pressure and figure out which works for you. In all this shooting we do, we all (mostly) look to some one else for guidance...which is good! But what is the trick for Joe Shmoe may not do squat for you.....something we all have to learn. Find what works for you and take it and run. I have incorporated many techniques from others and tossed other techniques from the same folks......because it did not work for me..... Just one of them things, try them both....give them both an HONEST try and then decide. Or you can do like me and practice both and use them both as needed....(I find this quite handy at times). Hopalong.......
  19. Dan, I generally have 10....8 in front, 2 behind the gun ....they are the OH SHjT reserves. HOPALONG

    Nemo

I would like to congratulate my Buddy NEMO for his fine performance at the Florida Section match. In his first Major match with a revolver....he switched from limited(like someone else I know) he manages to shoot 77% of Master Walsh....IMPRESSIVE!! On top of that He manages to come out ahead of Master Walsh on two stages, with young and impressionalbe Luke Fay winning one and Nemo winning the other!!!! good going guys!!! Now you two keep up the good work and make "Cliffy" have to work for what he gets from now on. Oh and Nemo, It was 4 major matches I shot until I won a stage. Hopalong
  21. I will unfortunately have to miss this one....The last A-5 was a blast though!!!! That is the same Weekend as the Tennessee Section match....I have to attend it as I will be an OFFICIAL range officer.....man that looks cool!!! AND since I have been the Revolver Division winner, I will try to pick off another different Division this year......HMMMMM OPEN or LTD????? the questions we have to endure. Have fun in Cheesehead land. See ya'll two weeks later at Barry, Ill. for that other little match. HOP
