  1. thank you! i will be loading the BB 135's soon. my 1911 loves the BB 200gr SWC's.
  2. i have the Redding seating die and i will say that you will get variance as much a .005. i've read it's because it's seating using the ogive and not the tip but i measure from the bottom of the case to the tip. one day, i'll buy a Hornady comparator to make sure. oh, if you get the Redding seating die, make sure to tighten the stem really well. there are two parts to it, one is the main stem that tightens down to the body, then the adjustable outer knob. i had the main stem loosen somehow and back out about .005. but i do have to say, adjustments are spot on. i will switch between PD 115, PD 124, PD 147 FMJ's, and MG 124 JHP and it's great being able to accurately and quickly change my OAL. i will say that i had the Dillon round seater and when i loaded MG 124's jhp's, i think the max variance i got was .003.
  3. I currently use 4.4gr W231/HP38 with Montana Gold 124gr jhp, OAL of 1.130-1.135. My MP5 clone,Zev G17,and M&P Shield eat it up
  4. From the video it looked all polymer
  5. if that deal was from Richie's PnG, they're legit. i used to live in Louisiana and they were a sponsor of a gun forum i used to frequent even though they are in Mississippi. They have great deals from time to time and sell Canon safes cheaper than i've seen anyone sell em. I was going to order mine from Richie's but didn't want to deal with having it shipped to my FFL and then coordinating pick up since my FFL travels a lot (kitchen table FFL). I ended up getting it locally for a little under $1050 out the door in Dallas, TX.
  6. The Lee undersize die and the EGW die are the same I believe. Lee produces the die for EGW. I have the EGW U-die and with it, I had no issues chamber 9mm rounds. Before, the only issue I had was with my PM9 that had a tight chamber.
  7. Dillon did the same thing for me. definitely a great company. take your time installing the new platform and getting it aligned.
  8. thanks guys. i usually load a little bit longer, but i'll try that.
  9. what OAL are you guys using for a 1911? i may load some of these for my Springfield MC Operator. thanks!
  10. Code, how much W231 do you use for FMJ bullets? for 230gr PD's, i use 5.6gr. thanks!
  11. 1/4"-20 tread Grade 5 bolts, 2 3/4" bolts for the longs ones and flange nuts.
  12. thanks for the quick response. the set screw at the bottom on the shaft is pretty tight. i've been thinking about getting the UniqueTek kit. either that or modifying my own tool heads. i might take apart the whole thing and clean it. i'm getting some spilled powder due to the "snapping" shell plate. thanks again
  13. you guys have been plenty of help and i'm reaching out to you again. i was loading up some target loads yesterday (9mm, don't know if that matters) and after a few hundred, my 650 would sometimes lock up. i would notice that the shell plate didn't move after a stroke and i had a case butted up against the case that just got deprimed and resized. so, i would manually index, check for a possible double feed in one of the cases, and move on. well this started happening very frequently. without any cases, the shell plate indexes just fine. anyone know of any quick fixes or something i should be on the look out for? on another note, i think my Dillon 550b was more consistent w/ OAL than my 650 but it could just be me. thanks in advance!
  14. i use 4.1gr of W231 w/ a 124gr FMJ at 1.135 OAL in my CZ Shadow.
  15. hey, guys not sure if it's actually lead that's just what i assume b/c i don't get the same when i shoot FMJ. below is my load: 200gr LRN 5.0gr W231 shot out of a Springfield 1911. thanks
  16. i'm working up a load of 200gr LRN using a pretty popular manufacturer and was wondering, is it normal to get blowback when loading lead? i get stuff blown back on my arms and towards my face when i shoot. it doesn't bother me too much, just making sure i'm doing everything right. i started loading FMJ but with higher volume shooting, I wanted to save a few bucks so i started trying lead. is the blowback normal or am I doing something wrong? i do not get this blowback loading FMJ. Thanks!
  17. thanks, i'll start with 1.13. i'm using it in a Dan Wesson PM-9 to practice for a competition next month. i may try to keep the same charge weight as, i know the 3.5gr is great w/ the FMJ as a plinking load, i was going to push it to 3.7-3.9 b/c w/ 3.5 of 231, it was great in my 1911 but not so great in my 9mm AR upper. i'm going to chrono a few at 3.2, 3.5, 3.8 and see what happens. the 231 doesn't have a lot of smoke, but there is a lot of carbon left over. it's a bit dirty, but not bad. i just have to clean my guns more often.
  18. i fell into a great deal on a few thousand 147gr Dardas lead flat point projectiles. my question is, what's the a good OAL for them? Currently, i'm running 147gr FMJ Precision Delta's at 1.130 OAL with 3.5gr of W231. i will be using W231 for this projectile as well, and was thinking about going lower, possibly 3.2 to start, but was thinking about working on the OAL. any suggestions for this projectile? thanks!
  19. i think if you have the old style Powder Measure w/o the fail safe assembly, you have the 90 degree angle at the very end that attaches to the powder measure. if you have a 45 degree bend and then straight, that i believe is designed for the new fail safe assembly Powder Measure.
  20. some make nicer holes in paper and knock down plates better, i'm told. i think the FP's are better for competition. i've been using RN and been punching holes and hitting plates fine though.
  21. thanks guys, i'm going to try some of those tricks. this is one thing i have to learn going from a 550b to the xl650.
  22. so, as the topic states, i'm trying to load a lot of 9mm. i stopped after loading a few to test and chrono my load. well, i want to test the powder throws again, but there are primers in the primer feed. How do i basically, safely disable the primer feed so i can test the powder throws. basically i want to weight 10 throws and get an average to check on the charge in the cases. thanks!
