  1. if i am on the wiatlist and dont get selected, do i get a refund?
  2. .45 Para slim hawg 3" barrel 15 yards freehand Also, first time shooting this pistol. I have never benchrested any pistol before Im not saying thats a bad group, because its not, but Taurus's are cast iron paper weights in my eyes.
  3. Benchrest or freehand? And at what distance were you shooting?
  4. Friends don't let friends buy Taurus's edit to correct spelling
  5. I think the reason why people charge so much for a gun that's only broken in(2000 rounds or less), is because you do not have to wait for the build time. Most of the time all the hiccups are out of it or worked over by this time as well. IMHO There are a lot of favorite smiths on this forum. I'm sure you will not be disappointed with any of them. I know I love my first open/limited blaster. (I had two slides built)
  6. The grip is 1/4 inch shorter than even a colt defender. That's why I don't think a regular 6 rounder would fit. Would someone that has a 6 round mag measure theirs.
  7. I recently purchased a Para Slim Hawg for a carry. I know they no longer make this model... but you can still find them from time to time. This is my first Para to own. After reading the mixed reviews I still chose it over the colt defender and kimber carrys. How it compares: It's about a 1/4 inch shorter than a colt defender. It has a ramped barrel. And cheaper than similar compact carry 1911's. I recently took it to the range and was very surprised at how accurate it was. I was able to keep very tight groups out to 15 yards. The gun did have a little more kick then I was expecting, but I'm used to shooting full size 1911's. I put 200 rounds through it with no hiccups. The gun feels solid and has a tight lock up. The factory trigger was very nice also. Over all I believe you get a lot more bang for your buck with the slim hawg then you do with other sub-compact 1911's. It is easy to conceal and I would recommend this gun to anyone that was looking for a 45 carry. I hope this helps someone out as there isn't to much info out there on this gun.
  8. Fp-10 or gun butter I use clp to clean it Now I want to try some motor oil
  9. Unfortunately mec-gar does not make one for the slim hawg. But thank you for the information, I've never heard of that company before. Edit: I was hopping that some people in this community would own slim hawgs.

    Mag tubes tight

Measure the mags. There is probably a few hundredths of an inch difference between the mags.
  11. I have emailed the impact zone a few time and never heard back. I would like to know if anyone here has any information about getting a membership to this range. Thank you
  12. So I recently purchased a slim hawg for a carry weapon not thinking about how rare(no longer made) this gun is. Now I'm stuck with only one magazine and it has the base pad on it. I know check mate use-to make flush bottom mags for the slim hawg but it seems no one carrys them anymore. Question is: does a Wilson combat 6 round mag fit in this grip? And if it does, does their mag ride flush with the mag well, or does it purtrude? Thank you very much to anyone that would have info on finding flush fit mags for the para slim hawg.
  13. sorry it wouldnt let me put both pics in one post

  15. Is the barreled crowned? Or does it have a mussel brake/comp.
  16. Sounds kind of strange that the bolt isn't going into full lock. I would recommend hitting the forward assit after charging it but I know this model doesnt have one. Have you ever taken the bolt apart? (not just the bolt from the bcg, but the extractor and everything to clean it?) how many rounds have you put through it and when did this start happening. Could your star chamber be dirty?

    glock match

In gssf it's stock or unlimited. There are a few small upgrades allowed in stock but anything that adds a non glock part that gives you an advantage seems to push you into unlimited. You can view all the rules http://www.gssfonline.com/glockrpt/2012_The_GLOCK_Report.pdf Page 10 goes over the specs.
  18. I've looked on Facebook but never saw any real updates, but that is good to hear that they are still alive and kicking for those who own their guns.
  19. What ever happened to these people (Salient Arms international)? It seemed like when they first came out you could not pick up a gun magazine without hearing about them. Now is seems that you just never hear about them. Their website has shown under renovation for almost a year. Did they get more work then what they could handle, or did something happen to the company?

  21. This post may be leading in the wrong direction but, I fairly new to this and y'all say that the same load, amount of powder, in a 9major and 38super comp would feel the same. I would think that because the 9major is not loaded as long as the 38sc then there would be a pressure difference, thus making it feel a little different and having different PF's. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
