  1. Dot flickering = low battery voltage = near dead battery Noticeable decrease in dot intensity = battery on the way out = change out to new battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hey, we’re gun guys - how can you hate CZs or Glocks? My perspective: In USPSA, Steel framed production guns, Stock 2s, Tanfos, CZs, are a very short step from a 9mm Limited SV/STI. The triggers and ergos are great, but you pay substantially (not compared to your average open gun, but for your average Production setup) for that. Guys are paying big money for those ‘production’ platforms. The changes to D4 are going to make the plastic framed guns, and I think Glock as much as any, more competitive and economical. Allowing mods to grips and triggers are a big deal with the Glock platform. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out this season. Let the games begin (well in May anyway). 3. This was my first nationals (Open) but I've been shooting USPSA for a long time. This match deserved the National Championship moniker. The disaster factor was high on many stages. There wasn't a stage where you could let your guard down. You paid for every mistake. The stages tested all requisite skill sets. Everyone I talked to that shot previous nationals said it was the toughest in recent years. Look at the match percentages at the top of Open. There are some great shooters in the mid to low 80% range. The match staff was great and showed a lot of poise in some blistering weather Friday. Plenty of water, lots of portajons, and a great facility with a practice area so you could warm up prior to the festivities (I wish that was available at every match). Leaving everything else aside, the members of USPSA should be proud of the nationals this year and the people who produced this event. To those people I say: Thank You.

    Squad matrix

    You da man - Thx!
  5. I can't read the squad matrix on USPSA website. Any help?

  7. I just set up my belt with TMMS system and I really like it. I set my Quadloads like CJW. I even set up a couple of AP Custom 4x4s in the event I have to go prone with the shotgun and the possibility I might have to load in that position. I'd just grab a handful and weak hand load. I set up my holster also - I really like being able to remove it and pistol on the stages where I won't need them. You can't beat the flexibility.
  8. For USPSA: I started with an 8, went to a 12, went back to an 8, now shoot a 6.
  9. Yes, it's true that all of the above is on the cutting edge of technology and yes you can make a successful argument for weapons mounted illumination devices but the possibility of a weapons mounted light on a civilian CCW concealed carry weapon is slim at best. Switch to LE Officers, the chances are even slimmer. We are issued lights and they are not mounted on the weapon and when deployed have to be installed on the weapon (the light is carried in a pouch on the duty belt). Fact is CCW holders do not utilize the aforementioned technology in significant numbers. Just because S&W mounts a reflex optic on an M&P pistol does not mean it should be a legal option for IDPA. The overwhelming majority carry pistols with iron sights of varying designs and manufacturers. Why not allow these more 'modern' devices a place in IDPA? They would be competing only against one another.
  10. IDPA's core value: defensive pistol discipline... I've talked to several armed professionals that say not so much, And... No gun mounted lights, no lasers, no slide mounted red dots: These technologies are the future of defensive pistol discipline and you can't argue that these technologies are even cutting edge as they've all been around for some time. Technology marches on and interested spectators and historians know that the victors of wars (and by extention, self-defense encounters) possess the best technology.

My last communication with him was Friday and all was well. I sent him an email yesterday and haven't received a response.

    Gan's ?

I sent him an email yesterday to let him know I was ready to send him my parts. Too bad if it's true, but lucky for me on the other hand.

  15. Excuse my ignorance, but how do you tune a choke tube? Thanks. Bill finds a pattern board. 2 tall sticks and a roll of butcher paper. my s/clays club had all that. 1. slugs: get the most accurate i/c, u have. shoot slug.see the pattern. grind with course wheel ,move pattern to where u want it. shouldnt take much. slugs go ito 4-5"at 50 yds. i.e. if hits at 9:00, grind right to move right. etc etc. keep shooting/grinding till it hits where u want. 2. vertical string: grind the piss out of the top and bottom of a full l/f or tighter. maybe get a tool guy to do it. the 1st time after that took it to a guy. if it is a tight area i shoot low. all Remington shoot 60 hi/30 low as thye were all trap guns originally. stock fit was 50% of the equation. leather shims work good. shimmed stock to shoot 50/50. bead on the center of the kill zone. spot on. the load i shoot at long target is a 1 oz. also.cant get "hot" 7/8 in u.s.a would a killer on tight targets with this choke. wont shoot reloads. hope this helps. ask i am around jjw Are you grinding inside the choke tube for slugs or at the back?
  16. Does anyone know if you can look at the stages tomorrow?

    G34 Gen 3 vs Gen 4

I'm in the market for a Production/SSP horse and it's going to be a 34. I love the new mag catch on the Gen 4 but I'm hearing stories about reliability issues with the new recoil system. Any knowledgable info would be greatly appreciated.
  19. I'm running a 8lb recoil spring in my IMM (38 SC ). I change it regularly though - I notice feeding is more positive with a newer spring.
  20. After shooting Limited for awhile I decided to make the jump to Open two years ago. I got a great deal on a used Infinity IMM in 38 supercomp. I knew it had some minor problems but I figured I'd fix em. Well it took me awhile, but I finally got the ejection problem fixed. But it seemed like something small was always popping up. The final straw was the recent, and very sudden, appearance of a failure to extract problem - and it was bad. I did the Aftec extractor thing but still, frequent FTE's. Finally I did something right and called Infinity. I spoke to Brandon Strayer and I want you all to know what he did for me: It took a minute on the phone for Brandon to determine that I had the wrong breechface for supercomp. He convinced me to send it down to TX fit it properly, but time was a big issue. The Northeast Section match was 12 days away. I've got one Open pistol and I really wanted to prepare for this match. If the pistol didn't work prep wouldn't matter though so off (overnight) it went to TX. Brandon called me the next day and told me that the breechface was replaced but there were a couple of things he'd like to change if I didn't mind. He told me he didn't like the scope mount (not SV - I won't go into whose or why but he had concrete reasons) so he wanted to put a SV mount on the pistol. He then mentions that the trigger's OK, but he'd like to upgrade it for me. Then he gives me some load and lubrication info and tells me he'll put in on the truck that evening and I'll have it in 2 days. Well it came in Thursday morning as scheduled (went out on the previous Monday) and I couldn't believe what I found when I opened the box. Remember, I sent this down to have the breechface replaced. I was looking at basically a new IMM. Brandon put on the new mount, new ejector, new trigger and insert, new hammer, new sear, new sear spring, new hammer strut and did an awesome 1.5 lb trigger job. I added a couple of new springs and the IMM ran like a scalded dog! I didn't want to post anything until after I shot the Northeast Sectional - which I shot today. I wanted to make sure the pistol worked before I gave them props publicly. They treated me so well that I didn't want to embarrass them if the pistol didn't work. Well I shouldn't have worried because the pistol was smokin'. Don't know if my score will hold up but the IMM ran perfectly all day. Not one hitch anywhere. I just wanted to let you all know about the great customer service Infinity provides. The kicker is how little Brandon charged for all the work. In fact, he didn't charge anything for the 'work', just the cost of the parts - and not all of the parts at that! Keep in mind this was a used pistol. Thank you Infinity and Brandon from a very satisfied customer! Scott
  21. Called C-More this morning. They think it might be the switch. Sending for service
  22. During practice this afternoon my C-More dot blinked off. I was using a Tac Sol conversion on my IMI 38SC. The C-More has an aluminum body and click switch. I tightened the dot module and battery compartment screws, put the SC top end back on, and shot a 100 rounds of SC with no problems. I shot another 200 rounds of 22lr with no problems. I'm inclined to change to my backup C-More and send the other unit to C-More for a checkup. Advice or suggestions?
