  1. Had him convert an edge into a sighttracker and chrome it. He did a fab job. Like any good gunsmith...he is not in a hurry... therefor your gun will be right.
  2. Might want to check your crimp too while your at it.
  3. I second the motion on Blade Tech. I switched in limited from a speed type open holster to one and actually got faster (safer too!) DOH is very good....simple is always nice...3 gun safe too. You will really never have to buy another.

    Glock Gen.4

I was just considering a stock glock .40 Hi Cap I think I will just wait until these are out. All my others are competition guns and a J frame doesn't get the blood flowing like a high cap I can take out to the match from time to time. I have small hands (rather short fingers to be exact) and the backstrap thing is a welcome change. You really can't beat a glock...many have tried but function and reliability can't be beat!
  5. I read that article once about the free bore of the stock glock barrels. If I remember the stock 40 barrel will take quite a long load...however the mag is the limiting factor on length. The article was more about it's effect on accuracy as far a bullet jump to the rifling. I have to agree the 40 barrel would be my choice. I just caught the fact you said G20 Slide....how about the frame? If you don't use a G20 frame then you will be limited by the G35 mags to about OAL of 1.15". Honestly being new to Limited, I would stick to the G35. I and many others here have spent way too much money learning lessons we could have avoided by just asking. Practice and enjoy... become one with the gun...trust me you will be better off. I think Glocks are a great bang for the buck..but I have seen way too many franken guns have problems. Watch Dave Sevigny shoot his (if you can in person) you will understand how good a near stock one can be. If you really want to make the G35 better, get a fantastic trigger job.
  6. I have a Pinnacle conversion gun. It started out as a cheap 640-1 .357. After the cylinder made the trip to Pinnacle and back...nice guy by the way...it can now shoot 9x19, 9x21, 9x23, 38 super...all with moon clips. It has good accuracy even though the barrel is not getting a full grip on the bullet. I did the conversion so I did not need to retool for a different caliber to reload. I like it and the shells just drop right out, due to the taper that Mark cuts the cylinder with. So if you hate finding brass for a 357 or 38 then 9mm conversion is for you!
  7. I do have short fingers (12 kinda big) and a little wide 20 a little narrow. I was thinking of opening the port up a little (not afraid of the d word (die or dremel))! I thought the price of cheap wal mart 20 ga was aboat the same as 12 ga? I will check that for sure. I don't shot many 3 guns though.
  8. Will do.... I am thinking of going with a 20ga and 21" barrel. Might just be the 22 version of a shotgun! We'll see. They say 70% reduction in recoil. That would make slugs a lot more fun.
  9. Well, I pulled the trigger and this is what came out 870 M4 Stock and while I was at it (impulse buy) one of these Tacticool Fore Grip If I don't like it I guess I can sell them in 6 months for double what I paid! (Hopefully I will be wrong!?!)
  10. I have been thinking really hard on the pistol grip thing. I like my standard stock, but something tells me the pistol grip will feel funny and be a waste of my time and money. On a pump what do you guys think? By the way I am right handed and I load with my left hand while rolling the gun to expose the underside. (I know there is a name for this) I have been considering a nova pump, but I am afraid I will regret not being able to have a pistol gripped mesa recoil reducing collapsable stock. (once the powers soon to be muck things up) Help!
  11. I went to bass pro and got the tru glo magnet set that sit on the vent rib. Work great and not smith'n!
  12. Only time will tell...as China and the world slow, the surplus will build and the market will check. According to Bloomberg the stockpiles are increasing and copper is loosing some ground on fear China will be buying less. For the sake of our sport I hope you are wrong.
  13. Start every stage with a simple plan. Execute it with finesse and cadence. And before I forget, don't get too caught up looking at your sights (except for the long shot) this is what most call calling the shot. You can also call it confidence and it does get better with practice and learning your gun. I see too many beginners waiting for a perfect sight picture for a 7 yrd shot. Also if you own more than one gun...only shoot one...it will help you learn it faster.
  14. Update It seems to be getting better. I am on antibiotics and have steroids to take if need be. I have kept cotton in it for several days and even shot the SC State match right after (I will blame my one bad stage on it I could never shoot that bad on my own?!?!)
  15. I am with Jimmyzip.....a quick swipe with the straight razor and my unibrow is no more. I used to pluck it...but it was taking way too much time. I started my beard when I was 14 so you get the picture! Waxing would probably make me look funny...men are supposed to be a little rough around the edges...else we would start to look sleek like the women...it's what keeps us in demand! (I think?!?!)
  16. The only time I would worry about my disabled grip safety, would be when I dropped my loaded gun. Then I would be glad for it to be there. I hope this will never happen...however it did at least twice this weekend on a stage at the SC State match! Also I did drop a unloaded gun running down a stage to do something and when it was picked up the hammer was cocked!
  17. I have a 1050 and have never set off a primer until now. Thurs night I was reloading for a match and felt something just a little funny but not major. Second pull on the handle and a little funny again but not big. Third pull bang! A piece of independent brass must have had only the back come off leaving a ring of the old inside. So the new one was set off. I am set up in the right corner of my garage...so (no ear plugs) my right ear has suffered some damage. My left ear is fine. Three days later my ear is still ringing but not quite as bad. I can hear ok, but I feel like I have some water in my ear. It kinda crackles when I manipulate my ustation (sp?) tube with my jaw/tongue....kinda like when you have an ear infection. I think my high end range is what is missing. If anyone is a doc or audiologist I need some advice on what I can do to help.....or just wait. Needless to say I will wear ear plugs from now on and I count my blessings it was not my eyes!
  18. I too have noticed the pants trend. You can't help but look....they walk funny because everything is not where it should be! I never thought I would see spray on jeans for men...I am having flashbacks to the 80's!!!
  19. Cool...looks like A is getting closer. I have been competing there but not classifying there... missing great scores by fractions on steel and such. I think I will have two strong scores go in this month. Thanks.
  20. MERRIAM, CHUCK B Limited points 26 pen 0 time 3.30 HF7.8788 What % is this going to get me???
  21. It's like what they told you about shooting USPSA...once you start.... Before you know it you will be calling Brian for a 1050....I did!
  22. I don't know your answer but if you look at Heine Glock sights the the notch is off center when you mic it out. So there must be something they are trying to counteract with the sight! I think Wil Schueman could answer this question best. I do think the rifling and crown could have some effect though.
  23. I just use blue (label should be this color) on anything that doesn't get real hot. SV grips are very tight and you could maybe not get the holes lined up too. Brandon told me they use a plastic block inserted in the grip where the grip safety goes and then lightly tap it off the frame. Of course being in a shop with jigs is always better. When mine was new I wasn't sure I could ever get the grip off!
  24. I have never shot bows but I would go with what you know. I shoot with alot of concentration on the target for closer distances....a little more focus on sights for the longer distances. I agree with the above.....the front sight just sort of disappears, but you still know it's there. I see far to many new shooters concentrating way to much on the sights. You see your holes up close....and just feel your way.
  25. I just sent a Cylinder in to Pinnacle for a 9mm conversion. It was a 640-1 .357 mag. Mark said he chambers them to 9x23 and use TK's moonclips. He also does K frame conversions in 9x23 that shoot 38 super, 9mm and 9x23. I will let you know how it does in a few weeks. He said he chambers to 9x23 to prevent sticking of cases and if .357's are fired after the conversion then they fire form!
