  1. More basic question: what do you mean by "not doing any thing for reliable slide functioning"? What exactly is happening?
  2. What's your OAL? What type of Berrys bullets are you using? Have you calibrated your reloader using, say, a digital scale or even a balanced scale?
  3. It's probably not a power factor issue then, which is what I was thinking. I think the other posters have it right -- it's probably the G30 not liking SWCs. Win White Box
  4. I think motosapiens raises the critical point here. There might be debate on whether the rule is unfair/unreasonable, and yes, if you don't like something, you have every right to say no and to walk away. With that being said, the requirement IS a disincentive. This is why a lot of Fortune 500 companies offer "trial packages" (e.g., free for your first week, free first month, etc.), and they make them long enough so that the majority of those who would sign up if they had enough chances to try it, would go ahead and sign up. Just look at Amazon and Netflix, two companies who are absolutely ruling their markets -- their free trial offers have led to a lot of customers signing up for memberships. I've designed subscription and loyalty programs as part of my job, and in almost every instance, extending the trial to more than a one-shot deal led to significantly more people signing up. It then becomes a win-win: the person signing up gets enough repetitions to make an informed decision -- one that leads him to sign up for a long-term arrangement/membership, and the company gets a long-term customer. USPSA, which has been here longer, has adopted this marketing technique. The same customer behavior would apply to IDPA. If the IDPA powers-at-be decide to adopt this approach, it can only help grow the membership base of IDPA. Just my two… well, maybe eight cents…
  5. What do you mean by "forced"? Non-IDPA members aren't allowed to shoot at your matches even if there are lots of slots left and even if they've gone through all the safety briefings/requirements/checks?
  6. I personally prefer the Gen4 G35 to the Gen 3 version.
  7. It's usually a $100+ off the suggested retail price. I got my Gen4 G35 for $480 before taxes. Side question: you don't want a Gen4?
  8. +1 girlie man to the list. LMAO Us girls like the feel of a 100,000 round OEM trigger too. The weekend warrior can enjoy exactly that with Vanek's trigger a whole-lot-sooner. I must go now to finish my flower arrangement.
  9. What power factor are your rounds? Are they factory ammo?
  10. Side question: did you notice any changes to accuracy and/or power factor and/or a bit of a Glock bulge after KKM opened up the throat?
  11. This posting from Ghost Dog Brian Enos seems relevant to this discussion: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=118&view=findpost&p=1038201
  12. Looks interesting - like a textured beavertai!! Is this SSP legal in IDPA?
  13. I've only made two changes to my Gen4 G35 that I'd say was worth it: - A drop-in trigger kit to make the trigger pull lighter (I use Charlie Vanek's triggers) - I changed the OEM fixed sights to adjustable sights Others do a lot more to their Glock, but these are the only two that have improved my shooting.
  14. How many rounds did your old recoil spring have on it before you replaced it?
  15. Fair point. If you don't have flat pliers, just wrap the ejector with some cardboard or rubber, and that should protect it enough.
  16. Correction. Grab it using a pair of pliers and pull it firmly out, towards where the ejector is pointing. It's wedged in there pretty firmly, as it should, given the abuse it gets, so don't try to use pull it out using your fingers (unless you're a mechanic and have Paws of Steel).
  17. IMHO, if you do break the housing while trying to pull out the ejector, I think that would be the time to buy a new housing. No need to buy one if you haven't broken it though. With that being said, it's super easy to remove the ejector. The instructor at the Glock Armorer course didn't even bother demoing how to do it, since he said it was so straightforward. I actually just swapped out my ejector a few weeks ago when Glock sent me the the replacement ejector for my Gen4 G35 (the original ones don't work great) and it took me less than 20 seconds to swap them out. And I was watching TV at the same time, so I was a bit distracted. Just my two cents.
  18. Grab it using a pair of pliers and pull it firmly out, towards where the ejector is pointing. It's wedged in there pretty firmly, as it should, given the abuse it gets, so don't try to use it using your fingers (unless you're a mechanic and have Paws of Steel).
  19. I've been thinking of getting a G23/G22 for everyday carry in a waistband holster and/or a G27 in an ankle holster. I've heard folks say the G23 is great and doesn't print, but if it prints on someone as tall as you, I'm starting to have some concerns. Then again, I used to carry a Para P14 .45 and it was very comforting to know I had 14+1, but I had to dress REALLY loose to get away with it on my 5'8" frame.
  20. I switched to Federal match primers, and that fixed my light strikes, while keeping my trigger pull light.Switching to a heavier / stock striker + stronger / stock springs fixed my CCI primer light strikes -- but at he cost of a not so light trigger pull, so I stuck wth just using Federal 1. I believe Titanium is also brittle compared to steel. 2. Possibly. I really wanted my titanium striker to ignite those russian wolf primers 100% and tried the included springs and a variety of others. One day I was at the range and decided to use the Glockworx springs with the stock striker since I didn't have all my parts on hand. I haven't had an issue in 5k plus rounds and shot up all those wolf primers I hoarded.
  21. Actually, to me it's clear that Vanek triggers are the best. waktasz knows what he's talking about, and he's tried a number of triggers, so I would go with his Vanek recommendation. Others like myself and feederick who have tried different triggers also prefer Charlie Vanek's triggers.
  22. Hi Graham, What's your OAL? What MG bullet do you use (e.g., round-shoulder flat point, straight shoulder flat point, etc.)? (I ask about bullet type because, between the 180 grain Berrys flat-point straight shoulder and the flat-point round shoulder, for example, at the same 1.125 OAL, the straight shoulder had .017 less space inside the brass, which for me led to 5-10 higher PF (depending on the load).) Using 3.8 of N320, 1.125, Berrys flat-point straight shoulder, I was hitting 146 PF with a standard deviation of 4.4. I chronoed 50 rounds over two days. The rounds I chronoed at 30 F ran 5 PF slower than the ones I chronoed when it was around 60 degrees. Cheers.
  23. Is that a Wii remote?? Lol! It was Duracaot I swear
  24. My KKM consistently ran around 8-13 PF faster than the OEM barrel in my G35 (using 180 grain Berrys). I believe I'm in the minority though, as most folks say that their OEM barrels ran faster: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139536&st=0&p=1588787&hl=kkm%20oem%20faster&fromsearch=1entry1588787
