  1. I have PRI and Barrett 6.8spc magazines. Both brands have worked flawlessly. I believe the Barrett's are only 30 rounds but PRI has multiple capacities which can be convenient if shooting off a lower height bipod, hunting, etc. Sadly both brands are rather expensive.
  2. I shoot 110gr FMJ's using about 42.5gr 8208 in Nato brass and I have no issues with compressed loads. Velocity is around 3000 fps from an 18" barrel. I'd worry less about the % of case filled and more about pressure signs you observe. Start at min loads and work your way up. Because of the relationship between pressure and volume, the pressure generated by a compressed load will increase very quickly. Do some load development and you may find you don't need a compressed load.
  3. I've considered coated bullets but the problem I anticipate is excessive velocity. I push my 110's around 3,000 fps. The 200gr bullets would probably work, but they are more expensive.
  4. The oal for the 110s was just under 2.400". But shorter is fine too. That just happens to be the oal I get with my seating die set for the 155 tmk's, just makes it easier to not make die changes every time I change projectiles.
  5. So I currently use the Sierra 155 tmk and the 110 fmj's. I throw about 42.5gr 8208 and then trickle up to 43.2 for my 155gr load. For the 110's I just leave it at 42.5. With such a light bullet there is a wide window for reliable operation with a variety of powders. Before I ran out, I was using Reloder 7, which is a very fast powder for 308. Think I was using 38gr of that but was able to operate the rifle down to 35gr...just barely though.
  6. I've bought them from Grafs and Wideners in the past. At Grafs they are currently out of stock, but .095 if you buy in bulk.
  7. Good timing with the question because I just uploaded this video for cheap close range 308 ammo:
  8. I use a Bladetech 4 mag pouch (spaced 2x2) which saves some belt space, and also a few Safariland single mag pouches, all connected to ELS forks. I do fine with that at Rocky Mountain/ He-Man Nationals and I'm skinny (not much belt space). Rifle Mags I use two Fast Mags, stacked on top of each other.
  9. I've never had that issue with CCI 250's and 200's
  10. I've got a Kahles with the SM1 reticle. Works great, daylight bright and super clear glass.
  11. I've used 40 gr of Reloder 7 which gave me about 2900fps out of a 16" barrel and was super soft recoiling. Also used 42.5gr IMR 8208. Haven't chronoed it yet but probably similar performance. I don't recall the OAL but I seat about the bullet into the case. Both loads flawlessly cycle my 308 AR, and I can tune the gas lower for minimal recoil.
  12. If you are willing to use a FMJ then Armscor 110gr are a good choice. I've used them in my 308AR out to 200 yards for 3 gun, moving about 2900 fps. Best part is buy in bulk and they are under $.10 per bullet. Out of stock here at the moment though http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/255
  13. I think I brought close to 300 of each last year and that was enough even after UPS stole some while it was in transit. Expect a shotgun stage with a minimum round count in the 40's.
  14. Is the primer seating rod assembly fully screwed in?
  15. No choice in the boat, the whole stage was mandated shotgun.
  16. Got it off- turns out there was no loctite. Rather, they used a thin metal shim sandwiched between the handguard tube and the aluminum nut it mounts to. Thanks everyone.
  17. I need some help removing a handguard from my JP 308. Of course the 6 screws are out, but the handguard won't budge from the outer aluminum nut. I've been using the heat gun on it and a strap wrench, but still nothing. I really don't want to have to cut a perfectly good handguard off in order to change a barrel.
  18. An ideal powder depends on the bullet weight. Which bullets are you looking to use?
  19. My favorites are the Safariland 773 for pistol magazines and the ITW Fastmag for rifle mags. I've never had a rifle mag fall out (used one in Iraq years ago too). The Safarilands hold much better than the CR Speed mag holders they replaced; they are easy to draw from but retain really well even when I'm sprinting.
  20. Centerline of scope over bore seems off. Depending on the mount and gun, mine is usually 2.5-2.7 inches.
  21. I've found the B&P's and both 7/8 and 1oz Fiocchis to be similar in my M2 and Supernova, usually 4-6 inch 5 shot group @ 100 yards.
  22. Kurt, it shouldn't but it definitely was. Once I figured out the issue and performed the mod the problem went away. Also here is an updated pic, all I did was lessen the step and polish it.
  23. If you can't get the Fiocchi slugs then the B&P are a good replacement. I use them interchangeably. They are about the same felt recoil, same great accuracy and both cycle my M2. The Fiocchis typically cost more though.
  24. I don't own one yet, but I would utilize the subtension value listed on the website and match it up with your ballistics. I noticed that the reticle is in the Strelok app as well. http://www.burrisoptics.com/reticles/ballistic-cq-1x
