thanks for the replys'. 20 is not reloadable. 19 is but because she is 10 years old 17 is the most she can seat; So we could do 17+1.Then I came up with the idea that if she locked the slide back with a empty mag and then loaded the 20 rounder which will work if the slide is back she could be starting with 20 instead of 18. She's good with this. just looking for other thoughts

I'm taking a young shooter to her first major match. She's shooting a glock 35 in limited. We have found that a 17 round mag is the most she is able to seat with the slide forward. I was wondering if there is anything wrong with her using an empty barney mag to lock the slide back, putting that mag back into a holder, and loading a 20 rounder from her back pocket.

I spent all winter trying to get a xd 9 just right for a 9 year old. Used light recoil springs so she could load, that caused some problems. went heavier and had stove pipes. A couple of days ago she picked up my Glock 35 which already had a 13 pound spring. added some 180gr mg with 3.8TG 140 pf very soft and all problems seem solved. Except getting her to use the glock trigger correctly. Something her dad was not able to learn.

My sti chambers the short rounds great but I have a slow limcat barrel and it takes a lot of powder to make major so to avoid the high pressure spike I load long 1.180

I don't think IDPA cares either if your in the port

Recently I put together a ar using a WOA 18-inch upper with rifle length gas tube. A rockriver lower with a Ace stock.A friend was installing a left handed safety for me and noticed I had installed a buffer from a collasable stock in the ACE fixed stock and should install a full length buffer which he also gave me. Hoping for more input

Me and my dauther will travel 200 miles one way saturday for USPSA. It's a little easer going that far when two of us are getting something out of all that gas being burned

I have the over priced Colt 9mm with the ugly handle. But after mounting a forward low handle mount and a Cmore dot Im able to use both the dot and iron's very well. Sorry Rick Somehow I got the ideal the O.P was about pistol calibers.

I use a Lee load Master but don't really recomend one. I do believe it's best to start with a progressive the first time around for lot's of handgun ammo

At our local matches we quit wearing cover when the temp. reaches about 95. unless someone makes fun of the M.D. stages or shooting.We also let one 9 year old shoot without cover but after a couple of matches she showed up with a vest.

Don't forget the top of the barrel hood and locking lugs. That area rubs the underside of the slide, more so on an open guns because of the extra weight of the comp and the downward force from the gasses I just learn about oil on the hood.One drop the other day brought mine back to speed.Never realized the need for it before. I sure it depends how your gun is fitted
