G34 Gen4. Really shoots well and feels good in the hand. Also with the adjustable back straps you can make it fit your specific hand/grip really well. Coach.

Springfield all the way. I have a Springfield and the Beretta 92. Really like the 92 for the feel, grip, accuracy. Great pistol, but it just doesn't hold up to the high round count like the Springfield. I have replaced trigger bars, springs, locking blocks, ..., etc on the Beretta. After 4+ years, and 1,000's of rounds of ammo and dry fire, all I've done with the Springfield is clean it. My .02 cents, go with the XD and don't look back. Coach.

Yeah, what he said. Been using 3.2grs of Titegroup behind the 147 Bayou bullets for the last year or so. Chrono says 135 or slightly higher, and they run great. I'm using them in a Beretta, XDm and Glock 34. No problems, just smiles. Coach.

And the answer is.... Cleaned the gunk (probably dirt and lead) out of the groves in the shell plate holder. Called Dillon and they replaced the index block, index ring, the "little hammer", associated springs, primer plate, primer punch and sent me two alignment tools for the index/shell plate. Cleaned everything again, put it all back together and we're in business again. Not exactly sure which part solved it or a combination of all, but everything lines up again and it operates the way it should. Thank you everyone for the suggestions and thank you Dillon for sending all those parts at no cost. I offered to pay for it, but nope. They wouldn't take my money, just sent the parts to make it go. I have 1,000 pieces of 147gr Bayou Bullets waiting for me. I'm gonna see if I can get 500 rounds an hour out of this bad boy! Coach.

I'm having a problem with my 650 on the down stroke (pushing handle forward) when you eat the primer. Something is jamming it up and catching. Couple of gentle bumps of the handle and it'll "clear" and seat the primer. For the life of me, I can't figure out where it's catching. I took the whole thing apart this afternoon, cleaned everything, used the platform alignment tool, tightened everything down, added a little grease/lube here and there and started reloading again. I'm still getting it caught on something every so often. It will cycle smoothly occasionally, but more times than not it getting hung up somewhere. Anybody have the same problem and fixed it? I was thinking that the primer was hitting the shell plate, but I don't believe that's the case. I use a small toothpick to "jiggle" the primer when the handle was stuck and it didn't appear to be caught on the plate. Any suggestions, ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Coach.

I have the bullet tray, strong mount, case feeder and the catch (on the right) for the completed cartridge. The dust cover will cover everything, you just can't zip it tight at the bottom. The bullet tray attachment gets in the way. Can post a photo or two if you'd like. Coach.

I'd bump it up some as well. Riding right on the edge isn't that big an advatange, and if you don't make chrono it really sucks for the match. My .02 cents. Coach.

Find a club close to you that has regular USPSA matches. Dry fire practice on the weekdays or weekends that you can't make it a match, or both. The weather and the club will eventually cooperate and you'll get to shoot a match. That's all it will take and then you're hooked. As for reload and ammo, that depends entirely on how much you want to practice/compete and how much you have to spend on ammo or accessories to reload your own. I suggest you buy ammo the first few times and make sure you like USPSA enough to make the investment in reloading equipment. Hang in there. Keep at it. Coach.

I have a new Glock 34 Gen 4. Bone stock. I shoot high with it, and the further I am from the target the higher the groups. Here's what I have. Site Radius is 7-9/16" or 7.5625" Shots at 7 yards are 1.5" high from bullseye. Shots at 15 yards are 4.5" high from bullseye. Using Dawson's formula I come up with the following, for getting the proper height front sight. 7 yards - 7.5625" x 1.5" = 11.4375 / 252" = .0453" 15 yards - 7.5625" x 4.5" = 34.03125 / 540" = .0630" So... what sight set (front sight height) do I order? I'd like to get the Competition #310-013 Fixed Fiber Sights. Can someone help me out please? Coach.

Okay got it. Again, back of the classroom, short-bus ridin', need to renew my glasses. See the image of the calipers, 1.140 is my overall length with 147gr Bayou Bullets, assorted range brass, Winchester primer, and 3.3grs of Titegroup. The plate that the caliper is sitting on was my target at 7 paces. (Just paced off 7 steps from my target and dragged a line in the sand). The other paper target is 15 paces. Both using my Glock 34 Gen 4 with the factory barrel, sites, ..., everything. (My wife just bought me the 34 as a birthday gift, so it's bone stock).

Yikes! I'll check tonight and post a photo if I can. I'll have to read up on the forum help notes on how to post a photo. Based on the caliper you're showing, I'm guessing I'm reading it wrong. Mine are probably 1.140. Ignore the slow guy in the back of the room and carry on with your normal lives. Coach.

Ah... I don't have the book with me, too lazy to walk out to the garage, but yes. My average overall length is 1.240. That's using a caliper that I picked up at my local Harbor Freight so it's probably not the most accurate. They fit in the magazine with just a little room to spare. My Competition Chronograph has them running a little North of 135 power factor last time I checked. Can't tell you what the velocity is running. I don't have any issues with getting them to chamber or clearing the round. I case gauge my rounds by dropping them in the barrel. If I turn it upside down and the round falls out, we're good. I'll double check again, but like I said I'm using that with an XDm, 92fs and 34 Gen 4. So far they all shoot these loads really well. Coach.

For what it's worth... I'm using Bayou Bullets 147gr, 3.3gr of Titegroup, ~C.O.L. is 1.240, Winchester primers, and assorted range brass. I use a XL650 with Dillon's dies and crimp just enough to take the bell out of the bullet. So basically hardly any crimp at all. That combo shoots straight and nice tight groups (no pun intended) out of my 34 Gen 4, my XDm, and a Beretta 92fs. Coach.

Take off the shell plate, primer tube, clean everything and put it back together. Make sure the primer "press" is all the way in place. Double check one more time and have at it. One little piece of a crushed primer stuck up under there can ruin your whole day. Coach.

I think you should give Dillon a call. They will walk you through the process and make sure it's right. The handle should stop at the bottom stroke with no over travel, or extra travel. It should only travel so far in either direction.

My XL650 did the same thing. It's out of alignment. Take it apart again (if you haven't fixed it already) go slow, double check your work and don't forget the lock pin. If you still have trouble with it, call Dillon. They sent out an alignment tool that you use when getting the base and shell plate setup. Worked for me, and now I'm not crushing cases anymore. Coach.
