I don't know if it helps but, I have a KKM barrel in my G35. I was looking for more support as well, trying to avoid being a victim of the KB people were reporting with the 40 cal. It definitely had more support than the stock barrel. Just the slightest bit of the case was exposed at the bottom of the barrel, I guess to maintain reliable feeding.

Botach had hi-cap mags for $15, I bought 4 and it was only $68 shipped. I placed my order in the morning and they arrived UPS the next day. First time I have ordered from them but would definitely try it again.

I also have a Dawson Ice on my G35. And I have not had any compatability problems with the Arredondo basepads fitting.

I'm getting back into USPSA after a couple year break, and have been looking at airsoft for practice as well. Good info in the post here, but was wondering how you deal with the recoil differences between the airsoft and your real pistol. I guess the difference is not as dramatic if you shoot open, but a limited gun will have much more muzzle flip / recoil. Is it a problem transitioning back and forth? Any ways to deal with this? Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread maybe I will start a new one.

When I stated shooting IDPA it was with a S + W 915. Pistol shot well enough for me at the time. There wasn't much support for accessories or holsters. Much of that is changing with the M+P, and increased recognition for S+W pistols with Doug K and Juilie G shooting for them. The 5906 line of pistols are solid guns and would serve you well.

The Glock case is supposed to be an approved case. I guess it all really just depends on the TSA agent you encounter, as there is so much inconsistency among what some will allow and what some won't.

I had some keyhole problems for a while out of my G35. But, it was only with some commercially reloaded ammo. I guess problems can come from too tight of a crimp or powder problems. I now have a kkm barrel and am using factory Winchester white box in both 165 and 180 grain without any problems.

I too am wanting to know how much better a S_I is than say a Para 16-40? I have been shooting a Glock in limited, but I feel the need to go 1911 to stay competitive.

Great site, I have already received some good info. I have a para 16-40 limited. Are the sti mags compatable with my para? I found someone selling some 140mm on the internet but am not sure if they will fit and function. I can always use more hicaps for uspsa.
