  1. Kinda but not really Stage 1 and 2 are next to each other. Stage 3 through 11 are in a row and around a corner. Stage 12 is all by itself out in the field. The issue is getting from Stage 12 to Stage 1 and then from 2 over to 3 - BUT, the shuttle does work - so I don't think it's going to affect you guys at all. What you do need to plan for is a lack of sustenance. It was 3:00pm before we got lunch today - I'm really really hoping that it's just cause they didn't "preplan" and that when the main match gets going that the food will be at the range and ready at lunch time. I went to the local store and bought some powerbars and other fillers though, just in case! There is also a SMALL cafe close to the range if anyone gets desparate. thanx, kath-i'll plan on food and beer, uh, i guess just food and water. tell david we'll have a blast. my shotgun broke yeterday and although i found the part, dunno if it'll work till match day-not a good sign. see you on friday.
  2. so kathy-since you've been to the range already, is it spread out as much as tom makes it sound?
  3. according to accuweather, friday a high of 84, saturdayand sunday 80. nice-i'm sick of 114 degrees. BUT, winds 12-15 mph all days, with gusts to 30. let's see, 14 " off at 360 with a 15mph wind...heavy bullet time.
  4. Man! it would have been cool to practice shooting 300+ I wish I knew someone who has access to a 300+ range todd-am i reading this right-yer shooting tactical with chris?
  5. was shooting 360 yd flashers 2day...boy, iron sight guys ar gods if they can see a 10" plate. glad i've got optics...
  6. Now you need a card board target in the backgound with two A-Zone hits to the head. maybe a flasher or a larue...
  7. ah, best western in fillmore-the only place i ever recall having to wear ear plugs in bed. nowhere to eat there. do yourself a favor-when coming back to the hotel after a hot day at the range, drive 35-40 minutes west from fillmore and the weather and class change dramatically. ventura has lots of places...
  8. most encouraging news so far tom-you found another brew pub!! happy hour is possible if we get thru the day quickly...
  9. geoff-it'll work...we have 3-8 the first day, and even if 8 is up the road, that's s/g only, so only 1 gun. the hump is gonna be from 12 to 1 after lunch saturday. sunday, that's cool-show up with 8 rounds and some gun for greg to play with then hit the road.
  10. geoff-better plan on stocking yer cart for each day. i ain't counting on a shuttle, especially with the big squads. better be self-contained and ready to move. i just hope this isn't another reno...
  11. hey-i shot area1 3 gun last year and had to deal with it...came back and made my own...it's all in the prep work.
  12. The Ramps are still there-couldn't figure out a good way to draw them in. Tom Tom Chambers, Range Master US Multi Gun Nationals glad you clarified that tom-i'll drag them out on our range this weekend again...was beginning to like them anyway.
  13. geoff-yer right...maybe we should rent a chopper. call mike dillon. seriously, what, we have 150 shooters in now what appears to be a 2 day multi-gun match where vehicular transportation for all intents and purposes will be limited. hope everybody has a heavy duty version for your 3 gun cart, cause everythings gonna have to be loaded into it for the day.
  14. Sorry, my odometer was at .8 and ticked over to .1 from the main range area gate to the N. range clubhouse. so r u saying it's only one tenth of a mile from the main to the north range? if it's .8, alot of shooters will be late to those stages. beginning to worry me now.
  15. Oh cool - maybe I'll get to be a CRO after all (or put with Happy Hanna or yourself or Carl! We'll be there Monday night Kev - when you going? kath-plan on grabbing yer hubby and joining us at the pub after a days work.
  16. all day shooting a bear, but what's the option? after finding only 2 pubs in albany, i won't need all the down time afterall. one stage to shoot on sunday-the chrono. good side-don't have to clean 3 guns saturday night. plus, can get on the road early and head back to my commie state. just have to drop one day at the hotel. bad side, afternoon saturday is long range rifle-pray for no wind. of course it's been 108 here this week... tom-yer job is tought enuf-we'll just roll with the schedule. looking forward to next week.
  17. found it-thanx, bruce. low-turnout? would have been great if it was the week b4 albany-i would have made it up there and just stayed...
  18. contact carl-we sent back a few but dunno if their gone by now...
  19. exactly-remember what happened in reno 2 years ago on pistol/rifle combo stage 5?
  20. look closely at stage 6...clays are worth 2 a's, yet total points for stage are based on all targets being worth 5 pts. flying clays need to be worth more or no one will shoot them, but there are 8 static clays on that stage as well. stage 10 has a hot pistol while shooting rifle-cool. also surprised to see all plates on the long range rifle (stage 12) only worth 5 pts...
  21. attempting to skirt the rules in production by lightening the barrel a bit? ouch!!
  22. squad matrix is wrong-look closely, we don't shoot a stage-squad 3, for example, never gets to stage 12. and that would be fine w/me
  23. i remember david...one of the few guys i've ever met that had more hair in certain areas thn me. cool-why aren't you joining him, kath? hell yea, we'll get yer hubby to join us at all the pubs...
