  1. Maybe that is why they call it the sweet sound of freedome! I have been putting fighters in the air all over the world for 18 years and I will never get tired of that awesome sound! It is best when you can feel the thrust in your chest! Nothing like a fully loaded F-15E taking off in full after burner on his way to eleminate another terrorist and make it safer for us all to sleep at night. God bless all of americas brave Sailors, Soldiers, Airman and Marines! Shooter_rob
  2. Thank you all for your support. I am sure I speak for all Active, Guard and Reserve troops when I say that we do what we do to protect and serve great people just like you all. Please continue to keep us all in your thoughts and prayers as even more of us depart for locations all over the world to protect the freedoms we all love and enjoy. I deploy in a few days and will miss checking the board. I will also miss most of the USPSA shooting season this year but if my time helps protect our rights then it is time well spent. God bless all of our Airman, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines, both home and deployed and God bless you all for the respect and care that you give to us. MSgt Rob Jessee USAF USAF Action Pistol Team!
  3. The Roger in second place is Maj. Roger Sherman of the US Air Force and Sig Arms Shooting teams. Looks like he was only a few seconds behind Jerry. Congratulations Roger, You have made your Teams and the US Air Force proud! (M)Sgt Rob Jessee USAF Action Pistol Team
  4. I have seen him shoot the nationals with that same holster. The trick is he bags and unbags on the line, he never walks around with his gun in the holster.
  5. BDH, I would like to thank you for your kindness. The country needs more people like you. I have served for over 17 years through several contingencies and it warms my heart to know that my country appreciates what I do. I know I speak for all the Airman, Sailors, Marines and Soldiers when I say thank you, we do what we do for people just like you! God bless you and all the other kind hearted people who support the US Military! (M)Sgt Rob Jessee USAF
  6. I am a shooter but not a very good speller. Yes it will increase your trigger pull but not enough to hurt. I think it is a worthwhile compromise. It only added a few ounces to the pull but increased my splits by a tremendous ammount
  7. I draw the gun way back on the grip with 2 fingers and my thumb, then i transfer the gun into the web of my weak hand, after that I disengage the safety as i push the gun toward the target with my weak hand. Good luck and i hope this helps.
  8. Slapping the trigger is the best way to avoid trigger freeze but you have to be able to change gears on targets at greater distance and properly press the trigger rather than slap it. In my experience the glock trigger is the easiest to freeze on. As for trigger speed what helped me on that was a mutual friend of yours unleased, who happens to be a gunsmith, increaded my trigger return pressure on my STI and i went from a .15 split to the 10's and 11's on demand. Not sure if you can speed up the return on a Glock but it will help if you can. I would suggest looking for a faster trigger return spring for you Glock. Good luck and see you at the match Sat. in Raleigh!
  9. I will be there, Squad 5 ( I think ) Limited Master All the way fron NC!
  10. The word I got on area 2 from the area director is that it will be the second weekend of Nov. in the same place as always. It filled up fast last year so be on the lookout for it and get in fast. He tells me that it will be posted on the USPSA web site soon. DvC...
  11. I agree, not to mention it is a tradition. I think we should all complaine to USPSA, it can't take that much planning to have the shoot off's.
  12. Deuce, I started a job at an indoor range and my lead level was 6, after 5 years of working there and shooting many indoor matches I started having memory trouble and rapid hair loss so I had it checked again. This time it was almost 40 which according to my doctor was within the danger zone. I was not only shooting lead bullets indoors but I was cleaning the range also. I think that is what caused my elivated level. Since I stopped working there it has dropped back down in the 20's but I still shoot indoors. I just switched to totaly jacketed bullets. My memory has not gotten any better and my hair loss will not come back. The Doctor says that only time can get it out of your system and the effects are perminate. So be careful and get checked every year. It is not a common test so you will have to request it, I had to. We had a very good ventilaton system and made sure it was alwasy on no matter how cold it got during the match. As far as I know I am the only member that had problems but I can not testify that anyone else was teated. Good luck with your research and let me know if I can be of further assistance. DvC... 13. Thanks Matt and George, I remember seeing the base pads you mentioned. I am looking forward to getting into 3-gun shooting. Thanks again. DvC... Rob
  14. George, Thanks for the help. I am new to shooting 3-gun and was just wondering. I have shot mine with and without it but I seem to like it on when I shoot from prone. Not sure how much prone shooting we will do in 3-gun but it really helps me. I am open for any suggestions. Thanks again, Rob
  15. I like the way you think Eric. Thanks for your support too and god bless. Rob
  16. I am new to 3-gun and was wondering if the AR-15 verticle front grips are legal for limited or tactical? I know you can't have a bipod but I need to know if the front verticle grip is legal. thanks , ROb Jessee
  17. My carry Glock 23 has the same trigger job and parts that my USPSA production division Glock 22 has. I have had both my Ti strikers for well over 3 years with literally thousands of rounds through both of them. I do remember some problems with some of the first Ti strikers that hit the market but i think they have the buggs worked hot of them. Lightning strike is the best one on the martket, expensive but dependable. You will be shocked at how much better it will make your trigger feel, it will also help you shoot better by cutting down on your lock time. DvC... Rob
  18. I think the real trick to a Glock trigger is smooth and fast. A titanium striker cuts your lock time in half and makes the trigger feel very crisp.Polish everything up and see how that feels. The titanium srtiker also increases your reliability. Reducing the striker spring gives you a lighter trigger but it will also increase your chances of light strikes on the primers. The titanium striker will alleviate this priblem. One last thing you can do to make the trigger feel better is to do away with the take up. This is tricky but there are several ways to do it. I have a trick of my own if you are interested. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail and I will try to explain what I do to get rid of the take up. It really makes my sub 2 pound Glock trigger feel like a 1911. DvC... Rob Jessee shooter_rob@yahoo.com
  19. The book is well worth the money. The author is a good friend of mine and I use it all the time. He is a GM and a firearms instructor at FLETC in Brunswick GA. He put lots of time into developing it. I think you can get it from https://www.maxmichel.com/store1/agora.cgi. Good luck and remember to tell Sam that Rob reccomended his book if you ever get to meet him, he will know who you are talking about. DvC... Rob Jessee
  20. Thank you for your support. Not only am I a shooter but I am also a 16 year veteran of the US Air Force and have spent countless days and nights away from my family. Not to mention holidays, birthdays and anniversarys. So anytime I see that my fellow shooters support me and my troops it warms my hart. Supporters like you are the reasone we do what we do. Good bless you and god bless my fellow soldiers still still in harms way. DvC... TSgt Rob Jessee
  21. Just wanted to share a new auction web site that a friend of mine just got going. He is an avid shooter and huge supporter of all the shooting sports. He has been a FFL dealer in NC for over 15 years. He is doing this on his own to help promote firearms and anything else you might have lying around and want to get rid of. He is just getting this site off the ground so please take a look at it and register. The site name is also very cool, leave it to a good old North Carolina boy to think up a name like mypoass.com. Thanks in advance for you support. DvC... http://www.mypoass.com/
  22. Not sure about the short OAL but I load my 165 JHP Zero bullets at 1.20 with 5.6 of Vit. N320. I use small rifle primers. The load is quick and snappy but it makes the sight track very fast and straight to the rear like I want. With the shorter OAL you may want to start out at about 5.0 and work your way up. I think you will like the load.
  23. I currently load 5.6 of Vit. N320 behind a Zero 165JHP at 1.200 OAL with Fed. Small Rifle Primers. It is a fast snappy load but I like it. I shot 200 Gr. lead for a long time but I am glad i switched to the 165's. Not sure if there will be a big difference in the Zero and the Montana Gold. I hope this helps
  24. Once you are all studied up on the right way to reload like Flex and the other guys have mentioned you can tyr my current load. I load 5.6Grains of VV N320 behind a Zero 165JHP at 1.200 OAL with Fed SR primers, which runs about 1050 or so dependig on your gun. I like th quick snap of the 165. For minor I load 4.0 of VV N320 behind the 165 Zero JHP at 1.130 OAL wiht Win. SP Primers, to shoot in my Glock. That combination is a very nice minor or steal challenge load. Be sure to read up before you start and never take someone elses word on a load, always start out lower than they reccomend and work your way up. Ever gun shoots different so just be careful.
  25. Roger, I am looking forward to another awesome GA state match. It will be well worth my 9 hour drive to shoot with all the GA boys again. Please keep me posted on the details since I don't live in the area any more. My e-mail is shooter_rob@yahoo.com. Tell all the GA shooters that Rob said hi and I sure miss shooting with them. NC is has some nice guys but ther will neve be a better shooting crowd than you guys. DvC...
