  1. I tried that but the "Guest book ad and forums" link does not show up under this section. What could be going wrong?
  2. How do i find the USPSA classifieds, I have been browsing through the USPSA website but cant find the classifieds section.
  3. EricW, thanks - I noticed the number inmediatly after I shot the chrono, however as I said, don´t want to make an international phone call to order this piece, most likely phone call will end up being more expensive than repair part.. - reason why I was looking for an email address. Our host was kind enough to send me an email address, however I tried it twice and got the message bounced back, so I figured it wasn´t working I guess I will just have to take the additional cost and call, as I also checked their web site the day I shot the timer and didn´t find an email address. -
  4. Ok, so I got cleaning the top end pretty good... after experiencing many ways and products for cleaning and unfortunatly having a malfunction due to not cleaning the gun at the important places (at the 04 USPS Nationals)!. I do the following: take apart the top end every few thousand rounds, spray down with break free fluid (any brand), use a soft brush and Q-tips to go to the firing pin channel, extractor channel, etc.. wipe of with soft cloth or paper towels and apply slide glide No 1 to all moving parts just as BE says, havent had a single problem after adopting this method. The question is: How do you guys clean the bottom end?, and I refer to the trigger group.. do you dissasemble the trigger group, mainspring housing often?, and what method do you use for cleaning, lubing (if any), etc.. Thanks
  5. Skywalker, thanks, I can find someone to translate to me the Italian document, so appreciate if you can send it to me when you get a chance. Neil, from reading posts on this forum I see that the brands you mentioned are the favorite ones amongst competitors, however as I mentioned none of those brands are available around here, so I have to shoot what we can buy locally. Thanks,
  6. So I am interested in purchasing a shotgun for competition, unfortunatly in Guatemala there are only cheap, low quality, shotguns.. the only thing decent around here seems to be FABARM (a bit pricy) BUT very nice finish and smooth operation. I read an old topic on this forum but it didnt really say much about them, specifically I have 3 options, H638 Lion, H35 Titanium, if anybody has had experience with them I would appreciate any feedback. In case nobodoy has had any experience, what would be the key features to look for on a competition shotgun, maybe I can compare the features to the shotgun and decide for myself if is has what it needs. Thanks
  7. So, I was happy with the chrono function of the MKIV timer until I shot thru one of the sensors!! Has anyone bought replacement sensors? and skyscreens?, if yes from who?, cost? and delivery time?. I appreciate an email address since I am overseas and don´t want to call international to order this txs
  8. Had a friend build our team backpacks, very similar to the dillon ones - same quality materials but with some minor mods, they were personalized (embroidered names and logos) and very well built. They cost us about $30.00 a piece. I am sure you can have someone build you some to your exact specs, if you can get a few people from your range to order with you, as I assume they must have minimum quantitites.
  9. As I said, didn´t know the shooter, nor the paster, and didn´t care enough to waste time on filing a 3rd party arb.. Just something I observed and thought of sharing amongst this be community to see if it´s something that happens often or it was a 1st, for me its the first time I see shooters pasting (in IPSC where I have competed I have never seen this). Seeing it has happend before I think there should be some stronger rules to avoid this from happening, e.x. Shooter can not cross the line until all the scoring has finished... Just my 2 cents.. p.s: Sorry for those who took offense
  10. I don´t think there is anything wrong with shooters contributing at the matches by pasting targets, painting steel and setting up props. What I do hate is the fact that this can lead to some very strange and unusual stuff. Take this for example: I was watching the Open Super Squad at the Nat, and one of the shooters had a very bad stage, there were only half way through the scoring when suddenly one target that had not been scored was pasted. This mean an automatic re-shoot for this particular shooter who happened to have a great run on the reshoot. Of course this shooter placed in the top spots in the overall and if it wasn´t due to this "error" he would have lost a few points and probably placed a few spots down the list. I don´t personally know the 2 competitors involved (the paster and the shooter), but I can´t help to think there might have been some sort of "strange" agreement amongst the 2. Anything like this happened before?
  11. Skywalker, type 1 focus might as well work in single targets from a standby position if you have a good index to the target. However I always get some type of sight picture, not perfect but I don´t let a shot go off without some type of sight information, you will notice that if you just run up to the target and "double tap" by pointing the gun in the general direction you will most likely loose plenty of points, enough to be worth waiting a tenth of a sec to get some type of sight picture to get all the points you can. Speed will come by seeing what you need to see faster and not by shooting without seeing anything at all. Sergio

    G27 tactical light

I had a Glock tactical light mounted on my G17, but I just sold the gun. I am left with just the G27 now (glockwise), but I would still like to use the tactical light on it. Does anybody know if there is a way to mount one of these lights on the baby´s?? BTW, where is the best price to buy .40 (27 + rnds) mags for the Glock? Txs Sergio
  13. Actually checked my account, never got the email Skywalker , any chance of a re-send to sgrc1@hotmail.com
  14. Skywalker, Excelent! - really appreciate the help. Sergio
  15. So I am confused between high pressure and low pressure loads, I am loading .40 for 170FPS (IPSC major) using titegroup ~5.1grs using Montana gold 180grs bullets, would this be classified as HP or LP? Sergio
  16. So I have been loading Major .40 for IPSC with small pistol primer, have been looking at the chance of getting small rifle primers since I have read many posts suggesting this is the correct way to go. So... all reloading components being equal and loading for .40 Major what are the benefits of using small rifle vs small pistol? thanks
  17. It would be great if I could get a copy of the tag to modify with my data, I tried the links but couldn´t access any of them. Please e.mail me at sgrc1@hotmail.com Sergio
  18. So after seeing so many great names, who do ya´ll think is going to take it all in Open, Limited and Production??
  19. I used the platform in with my glock set-up and I really liked it, the draw is much smother + looks good. I also tried the trigger bar but felt the retention was very poor, so changed back to the stock CR trigger bar and haven´t had a problem since. I did see a few friends break the purple insert that holds the barrel in place (barrel spud?) after just a few months of use. No problem with mine yet. Sergio
  20. Echo everybody´s advice to send whatever tubes you have to Beven, I live overseas and sent my tubes to Beven for tunning and internals and they work great, I don´t spend a second thinking about my mags, I just load them up with 20 in my 140mm or 17 in my 126mm and go shooting. Another great idea is the holes he does in the back to be able to count the rounds. Only other thing I would think to do is to engrave them Sergio
  21. Thanks to all for great info! I finally decided to stick to my G27, I tried several different loads and some felt way better than the original loads I was trying (Corbon +P loads). I feel the benefit is that is is very weareable, reliabale and low cost maintainance which is just what I am looking for a carry. I will never change my SVI Limited gun for competition but I guess I will live with the G27 for carry purposes.
  22. So I have been trying for days to order the book with my Credit card without PayPal with no luck. Has anyone purchased the book without using PayPal?
  23. The Web Page has been updated and registration forms are now on-line at http://www.zemog.com.gt. For toursist info if you can stay a few days before or after the match you might want to check out a few places like: Lake Atitlan, Antigua Guatemala, Tikal, etc... you can check out http://www.inguat.gob.gt Hope to catch a few of you guys here!
  24. Excelent info Joel! - Just want to echo Joel's invitation to this years Zemog Cup to be held in Guatemala on October 16/17, excelent international match after the USPSA nationals. Last year we had many international shooters including some of the top US shooters visiting Guatemala. Shooting will be great, good prizes (Cash prizes 1st place in each division) + you definitely have to stay over a few days to know the country, it has BEAUTIFUL tourism, to name a few: Antigua Guatemala (greatest colonial city in America), Lake Atitlan (amongst the most beautiful lakes in the world), the biggest Mayan city (Tikal) and Chichicastenango, and all of this very inexpensive. Check out Guatemala tourism webstie at: www.inguat.gob.gt, click english language at the top of the page and surf through the galleries, attractions, etc.. Hope to see you here, for more information about the match visit the web site: http://www.zemog.com.gt or send an email to: tiropractico@terra.com.gt gua@ipsc.org
  25. Shot my first USPSA classifiers yesterday, trying to get a classification fo the Nationals, this was one of the stages chosen by our club director. I think, most guys had over 2 mikes, my results were: Limited - 21.2 sec 25 points down (including 1 mike) the one mike was on the first shot of the 2nd string on the freestyle target, I was so focused on preparing the trigger that the shot broke early and missed low, the satisfying thing at least (If one can say that after a miss) is that I knew exactly that I had missed that shot 'cause I was clear of my sight picture at the exact moment. After that got all A's on the week hand. Anyone has any idea what percentage this would come out to be? thanks Sergio
