  1. Thanks I will give that a try I was just looking through the Dawson catalog it looks like there 125 has a larger optic rod on there 125 I am going to order one of those up also and give it a try.
  2. I have been trying some different sizes of front sights on my 5" STI but the one's I have tried in the 125 seems to have the same diameter dot as the 100 and 105 it looks like you could get a bigger diameter fiber optic in the 125 I was wondering if anybody makes one with a larger dot size in a 125 sight blade. That size seems to be the one that tightens up my sight gap just right
  3. I shot it today had good times but was sloppy on my hits 2:16 2:17 but I had a bunch of D's and C's 10.6 HF 75% open
  4. Ya I handled a 6" eagle untouched definitely felt front heavy but I never handled a fat free gun yet but I sure seen allot at the nat's last year.
  5. Hey Chirpy Ya I was thinking on sending it to Gans Guns I'm shooting a Gan gun in open and love it but I heard he's not taking in new work right now but I haven't talked to him personally yet.
  6. Cool thanks for the info its going to be a bushing barrel I would like to keep it fast handling but didn't want to get the front end to light I was going to send the slide off to have it machined so I was just trying to figure out a ball park wight to tell the gunsmith no smith's in my area have any experience with this type of project
  7. I am building a 6" 40 limited gun what is the ideal weight for the slide I found allot of info on overall weight but I couldn't find anything on slide weight.
  8. I shot this yesterday i haven't shot par time in quite awhile drop a shot on the reload scored 109 it was good for a 90.38 in open
  9. I saw Patrick on another video and he admitted most of his input on the new gun was mostly cosmetic probably some anodizing and powder coating and hopefully a adjustable stock for us open shooters.
  10. Good job Pat Iam the match director for our shoot on the 11th Ill put some field courses in for you .
  11. Just got 100% 10.406 HF time 6:15 first 100 in about 15 years hosed it and hit the reload and didn't drop to many points YE HAW...
  12. Man I hate to ask the obvious but I have held out about as long as I can got some big shoots coming up and I am going to have to buy something to shoot in the tactical class any new news.
  13. Well I would have to agree with G-ManBart it felt better when I first started shooting it but the first couple shoots I shot it in I had more c and d's than i normally do so i did a bunch of drill's front site and bill drills without it i was shooting a's and c's with it on I shot mostly c's and d's not real scientific but our last match with 100 rds pistol I shot without it on and I was back to shooting mostly a's and c's I had only a couple d's . Mark,
  14. Ya in live pigeon shooting when you shoot the bigger rings guys called em bushwhackers you could take a winged bird at 50+ yds no problem.
  15. I realize these not bushing com you described in post one but it is a way use your bushing barrel and still add a little comp for steel.
  16. Here's a pic of my old 1911 steel gun it was built with a bushing barrel Swiss cheese slide it worked good it has several 100,000 rnd's through it I have been thinking of resurrecting it for next summer if you would like I could get you some more pic;s of the bushing - comp setup.
  17. At my first IPSC type event ever it was in copper landing they had 2 pepper poppers at 125 yds I was shooting a 45 and never trying shooting a 45 at that distance before I went prone hit them with 2 shots my brother was directly behind me he said both shots skipped into the targets. Hey luck counts
  18. That's a good explanation I will have to do it some drills while video it where I can analyze my technique and fundamentals havent videoed myself in a long time like you said it's time to get back to fundamentals. Its a good drill its harder to keep from trigger stumbling than 1 or 2 that second break is hard to keep fast.
  19. Anybody else having trouble with this old drill its just a.70 draw and 2 .15 breaks at 5 yds I don't know if I am just getting slow in my old age or the guns are heavier and longer but I am having a hard time getting under 1 second without getting sloppy and getting some Cs.
  20. Well he is in the right spot shooting at Rio Salado is like going to a area match every weekend.
  21. That sounds right another phenom coming out of Rio Salado I watched the above videos he looks smooth and he must be really fast although I didn't get to watch him at the nationals this year I watched a couple of the top squads and they were flying with there limited guns.
  22. Hi guys Is there any info or articles about our new limited national champion I heard a little bit at the nats but was wondering any threads on BE or magazine articles. Thanks. Mark,
  23. Being in racing the last 12 years while taking a brake from shooting I found the toughest and slickest coating that I found is alpha coating we used it on shock shafts should work good on allot of internal gun parts I think alpha coating would look good on the barrel of that thing .They cant do frames though no ffl.
