  1. Man, great video! Interesting what Rob says about coming off the trigger in fast splits. I've been mulling this topic over and have found that I can move my finger faster and more consistently when I cover about a centimeter or more of space than I can when I try to cover a smaller incriment. To test the maximum efficiency of your trigger finger try this- lay your hand relaxed on a flat surface and try to tap your trigger finger as fast and as evenly as possible. Notice what happens when you try to get smaller with the movement. For me the ideal cycle is much bigger than the reset on my pistol. Glad there's a forum for this kind of geek out!
  2. Wow it has been. Long time since I posted this! My low left problem was mostly due to trigger control and support hand technique. Lately I've been thinking a lot about the support hand. U hear a lot of shooters say that the support hand- strong hand grip ratio should be 60-40 but I think this is a misinterpretation of reality. It seems to me that the grip strength should be 50/50 for symmetrical purposes, however the support hand should have more tension to help guide the gun in recoil. To be über. clear- I'm saying that grip pressure is often confused with muscle tension. The support hand needs to very firm and as flat to the side of the pistol as possible to facilitate a flat plane of recoil while the trigger hand needs to be relaxed enough to move smoothly and quickly. I truly believe that any good shooter applies the same amount of pressure with both hands. Thoughts?
  3. Where do you live. I'm in Georgia and there is a lot going on here!
  4. The runes on Conan's father's sword are translated as; "Suffer no guilt, ye who wield this in the name of Crom"
  5. Yes, the Lone Wolf kit was the subject of recent debate. Thanks for the reply
  6. Is it legal to use a drop in overtravel stop kit in a Glock 34 for production?
  7. I use 3.9 grains of titegroup with an average power factor of 130. Nice soft load.
  8. I got into a custom tuned Springfield Range Officer for $1250. I'm a very green Single Stack shooter but this gun is a real sweetie. Checkering, magwell, finishing, etc. $3K is alot of bread!
  9. One shot IS the way to go.
  10. First match was awesome! Can't wait for the next one. Thanks for bringing steel challenge to South River
  11. I love my SBD. To catch primers I removed the little cup that comes with it and simply put a plastic lid under the press. I like this because I can clearly hear the spent primer drop. I just ordered a complete auto-prime assembly from Dillon. I had originally just ordered the parts but customer service talked me into the complete assembly. Seems much easier and I won't be losing primer cups on my garage floor. The only real problem I've had is with my de-priming pin grabbing primers and pulling them back up into the pocket. The solution was to take a fine metal file and shape the pin down a little bit into a point. Go SBD!
  12. Holy crap this is a tough classifier. Last month was Merles Standards and now this. All I needed was a 51% to bump to B but I zeroed Merles and pulled a 33 on HH. I only got three shots off with my weak hand and one of them was a no shoot. Back to the woodshed...
  13. Anyone tried precision delta? Friend of mine Told me about them. Min 2k order. Prices look pretty good.
  14. I know your dilemma well. I just switche from G34 to a shadow. My theory is that it's best to stick to one gun or kind of gun and never look back. I don't want to have to go through this in-between-gear thing again anytime soon. Ps wanna buy a G34?
  15. If they're factory mags just send them in to Glock Inc in Smyrna Ga and they'll replace them at no charge.
  16. I sold off most of my fun guns to support my USPSA habit. The last remaining is a tactical solutions 10/22 with a threaded barrel. Chicks DO dig supressors!
  17. I carry a 26 in a blade tech IWB. I've been wondering about larger calibers too and a friend let me try his Glock 36. To my surprise, it is very thin. Also to my surprise, it recoils like a mother. I think I'll stick to the 26 or 27.
  18. Go forth and testify brother!
  19. Go slow and don't drop points. Sounds like you were shooting plenty fast enough, but too many points down. Remember that IDPA is accuracy heavy.
  20. Do you have a matching outfit? I think you need a cape to go with that rod. Looks awesome.
  21. Hey guys, its official. I have made the switch from Glock to CZ. Dumped my poor G34 for an Angus Shadow. Shot my first match with it last week- it was Steel Challenge. The double action pull that I was so concerned about was really no big deal. I scored a 127 which is considerably slower that what I'm used to, but I was being very careful on the draw and fist shot. I've been able to adjust much more quickly than I expected. After some dry fire work, I'm able to get my draw times and reloads up to my G34 baseline. I love the Shadow! Be seeing you on the CZ forums... ~KL
  22. I've been building scaled down steel challenge stages using different sized paper plates and shooting them with my airsoft setup in my yard. For the big plates I cut out the A and C zones from a USPSA target and use the no-shoot side. Dimensions are pretty close. It has helped me work out the most efficent transitions for me personally. Its also big fun! I made a video of myself shooting plates with the airsoft and when my wife saw it she said it reminded her of Uncle Rico's football video from Napolean Dynomite
  23. This is the hardest stage for me. Those small plates are deceivingly tough to hit! My method is 1-2 4-3 5 big small big small stop. Wish I had a place to practice!
