  1. I would run 6.8 grains of autocomp @ 1.145 in my 34 open gun with a 124 pd jhp. carver comp and carver mount lone wolf bbl.

always fed and always made major. and always pretty much was not the platform for me. I was NEVER able to get the gun to shoot near as flat or as fast as my trubor. The slide always felt slugish and sloopy.

  2. my advice keep saving. an awesome open gun went for 2200 bucks on the classifieds just today. A 38 super comp mcustoms gun.

I know the urge to play but the money you will drop making an eagle kind of work can be put towards a great gun that will work.

  3. work mikes dry fire exercises slowly and manage your grip and index points. The best thing about having a back ground in music is a guitar teacher once told me if is bad slow its worse fast. slow motion reps until its solid. Remember Practice does NOT make perfect it makes permanent. If your practicing something wrong over and over your permanently mapping the wrong result.

Slow motion practice allows you to learn the skill much faster because it builds a foundation from which to work from. imho

Concentrate on gripping the gun exactly the same every time, don't aim the dot bring the dot in to your field of vision allowing it to appear on the target. The advantage of the dot is not having to "aim" in the traditional sense. Where the is on the target is where the projectile should impact.

it works best for me with both eyes open. i pick a spot on the target and my index is always the same my focus never really shifts from the target i sort of just superimpose the dot on the target as if it were a laser of sorts.

again slow motion practice hitting the same points every time.

  4. It is coming time to think about dropping a new bbl in my trubor and I would like to have the option of .38 super comp. Is this possible by just a rebbl and extractor switch? or is there a breech face work that would have to be done also. What i am looking for is the option to shoot either .38 super comp OR 9 major. Reason being i shoot a couple matches a month that are lost brass matches. I would like to shoot 9 major there.

This is a stock STI trubor in 9mm. the only thing I have done is some trigger work and cameron cmore mount.

  5. lol sorry man I was to busy filing... But I got it now. It went in fine with out the sear and dis. it needed alot of material removed just to pass in front of the sear. First one i ever had that needed that much material removed off it. now I am just removing the material off the top of the safety to it has full engagement when it locks in the slide notch. Alomst done...

  6. I have only fit a couple ambi safties on 2011 guns. I bought a wilson to fix my broke ambi. I have never had to remove material from the y axis before. Its seems as though it is too long to fit in the frame or needs material removed more towards the outer part where the thumb would go. I guess i am trying to say it bottoms out on the sear and will not allow the body to fit flush against the frame. how do I fit this.

  7. I here is the thing. as you 7625 fills the case pretty good. I dont think you can fit enough in the case with holes and a shorty. BUT autocomp can. I have been real happy with my 7.1 grain auto comp load in my fullsize gun and 7.3 in a matchmaster with no holes. I feel pretty cofident you could do it with autocomp. but i will let you know soon :)

  8. I can tell you EVERY SINGLE STI STOCK GUN I REAPET EVERY SINGLE ONE I have ever bought the extractor took a crap in under 3000 rounds. An aftec fixed my problem every time. Both my turbors and my aperio and edge all had to be chnged in around 3K.

I have a cameron mount on my trubor and aftec and have never had an extraction issue.

  9. I like WST in 9mm I load 4.1 grains behind a 124 JHP @ 1.135 for my all my friends 9mm target loads... super soft and pretty good load out of longer bbl guns like a g34 or Springfield 5.25

  10. Because your grip is the attachment point for your frame. just a little bit of slop in the area translates to allot of muzzle deviation from center. since your mount is attached to your frame the entire frame is moving with in the grip. Or in my case my grip strength tends to squeeze the gun in different directions.

Think of it as loose grips screws cause a swivel point instead of an anchor point. OF Course we are talking on a 2011 platform only

  11. I run 124 with auto comp I have not ttried 115 major loads but I feel very little difference in my minor steel loads. In fact I use 5.5 grains of autocomp behind a 124 Jhp and it is really nice steel load. The 115s felt no differant to me. Trubor bbl t-2 comp

  12. I have been shooting my other trubor since I am more than likely either selling or sending my main gun to finishing in the next few weeks. The issue I am having with this one straight from STI fitted there is the thumb safeties are eating my strong hand up as they over hang the frame in the off position. What do you guys use to blend them? I was thinking of radiusing the edges of them with some jewelers files to blen it better to frame. This should stop it from biting me so yes ?
