  1. I had the same issue with an apeiro when changing out the trigger. I had to reshape the trigger bow just a little. mine would work fine would not slip off the sear but as soon as i put in a mag, first pull after that would not reset the trigger and no half cock. a little reshape on the spring and a little reshape on the bow runs 100% now.

  2. My match today went... ok at best I placed 11th in limted with 64%of total points. as a D shooter shooting where at least 50% of the shooter were A or better I think thats not bad. If i am looking at this right. seems like to me we all shot fairly close together today. I am lacking 20% of the points to place first?

  3. hey guys had a buddy change my curved trigger in my apeiro to a flat trigger. run two mags through it now mags wont frop and the hammer wont reset. Took apart the MSH worked fine with no mags dry fire ok. stick in a mag and same story. fails half cock no reset at all.

any ideas. It may just go to my gun smith tomorrow.

  4. OK this is not like me... I have been shooting uspsa for 6 months I have come a long way and just moved to limited with a new sti. I am shooting GREAT! with good times and hits. EXCEPT i am missing targets (FTE's) this started 3 weeks ago... right round the same time i got my new STI.

for example I shot a beautiful classifier today near master time and score but I just forgot a mandatory reload. right in the middle of the stage on the second string. It was free hand reload strong hand string 1 freehand reload weak hand string 2. I hit the first reload set up the next string free hand right to weak hand with out making the relaod. this is not like me. Last week I had 4 Fte's and I saw the targets in pre stage set up my plan and just plain missed them.

GRRRRR some suggestions on stage prep maybe.. am I too into to my front sight its really frustrating shooting with great smoothness and accuracy only to blow a match on a mental error.

  5. If you have been shooting only 6mos and you are shooting that drill, in less than 2 seconds, you are way ahead of probably 95% of the people on this forum..

yeah I have shot Fclass/NRA long range since I was a kid. I bought my first pistol back in june last year... tons and tons and tons of live and dry fire practice

  6. Yep Mat that is the result of your short C.O.A.L. and the extra barrel length.

Suggest you get your OAL in the 1.155-1.160 area and retest.

I can't get 1.55 to run in my mags 100% 1.145 does until the chamber is caked with crud. It's cool I was just wondering why I hit it so soon.

I am thinking about putting a 17 slide and bbl on it so I can run factory loads.

  7. Sub-2 is good enough if you can do it on demand....right now, dead cold.

Draw times don't really mean much in the big picture. When you look at big matches, there often are very few static draws where you're just standing there, draw, and shoot a target. They almost always have some sort of action or movement. So, most people spend a large percentage of their practice time (both dry fire and live fire) on something that won't help them all that much....and they don't even bother practicing stuff like turning draws, which are used, at the very least, for a lot of classifiers. R,

that was my first run cold. my third run was .82 1.88 I always use my cold numbers.

this exercise does help me A TON though. I shoot steel also. friday night falling plates and SSC. but i guess you guys are right as far as uspsa I guess i am good enough on this drill.

  8. glock 34 lonewolf bbl craver 3 port comp.

OK yall being the extra cautions person I am I started working up my major load @ 7.5 grains and stepping up .1 grains at a time.

Now i know every one says start near 8 and work up, had I done that i would have been in a bind.

I made major with 7.7 grains of HS-6 @ 1.145 oal and a 124 grn dp jhp. 7.5 grains was bumping 160, 7.7 grains gave me 168 and 7.8 gave me 170. Using federal primers I was getting slight primer flatting. But if i was using a wolf or winchester i doubt i would see any pressure.

I guess because of the extra length of bbl I am getting faster velocities?!?!?

anywho. the gun wont run until i hit 7.5 grains with an 11lb ismi spring

  9. Which magwell are you running on that? Can you fit mags with floorplates or do you need basepads?

It's a Dawson ice. Yeah I can run either.

I found I do need to pump my load up a bit. When it's dirty it still double feeds and stove pipes. Teach me try to run a measly 7 grains of hs-6 and a 3 port comp lol!!

  10. I am using federal 100's in my open 34 with hs-6 I am loading 7.2 Grains with a 124 dp jhp @ 1.150 thats my steel and falling plate load. start @ 7.2 and work up to major. YOU MUST HAVE A CHRONY and look for signs of pressure.
