  1. i had squib last week, because of wet powder in the case, the powder didn't ignite, gun didn't cycle, probably a case wich i lubricated a bit to much, or was standing upright when i was spraying case lube on it.
  2. once fired, i use them about 5 to 10 times, and then leave them at the match. i use mostly, magtech (cbc), fiochi, and s&b
  3. For me there's only one sight, and that's the cmore slideride, neve had any isues with one of those, i have no experience with trijicon, but in the past 5 months i have seen, a few burris ff, docter sight 3 and cmore sts broke down, on a major gun (fitted on the slide) after a few 100 rounds. I dont't know if you want to fit it on the slide directly or on a mount fitted to the frame, but if you want it on your slide choose a leopold delta point, i never have seen one of those broke.
  4. scrambled eggs, with toast or brown bread, and cheese, cup of thee, glas of (chocolate) milk, no coffee, and i put a little lunch package in my range bag (with some fruit, and some bars) and a bottle of water, and when a match is a whole day, i eat on the range, most ranges have excellent possibilities to buy food, and some level 3 matches here a lunch is included.
  5. then explain to me why there are a dozen of guns from the same smith with even more agressive texture and cutting also tri topped, wich are much older (about 10 years with more than 60k of rounds trough it) and those guns still last.
  6. I do not agree with that, because sti said they have made a batch of slides wich are bad.
  7. Yes, all by the same builder, but i also have seen cracked slides on hps guns wich are not tri topped, 2 days ago i saw an svi slide cracked.
  8. i will let you know how long my slide wil last, next slide will be one without tri top, but then i have to have a new comp also, and that's gonna be an expensive piece of titanium.
  9. but sti, also made their own tri top slides.
  10. i made a mistake, i'm looking at the pictures of my own gun now, the cracks are on the LEFT side not the right side. (to make it easier, the slides are all cracked on the side where the cmore mount is mounted) the most guns are the same design, some guns have a 5" slide, others have a shortened (4.5") slide like mine.
  11. no pictures of the cracks yet, but i have exactly the same gun, and mine has twice the roundcount of the other guns, and my slide didn't crack yet, but they are all cracked on the right site of the ejection port, when looking at the gun as you would shoot it. the only difference between my gun and the other guns, is that my slide was originally a 6" slide wich is shortened to 4.5" because there weren't any 5" or 4.5" slides available when he build my gun, and there are still other shooters with the same type of gun, but their guns are all older than the guns listed above.
  12. alla the 9 mm's were using vv N350, the supers were using, vv 3n38.
  13. all the slides have been lightened, most of them shoot with 10 lbs springs, and some with recoil masters, pf between 163 and 170.
  14. in the last few months, the slides's cracked on their open guns, all different calibers (.38super and 9mm) and all on the same place (on the right site, at the back of the ejection port) on 1 gun this happened within 5000 rounds, one other gun cracked last week, wich was 6 years old, with about 60k rounds trough it, but the rest of the guns, are build in the past 2 years, and had about 10k of round trough it, my own gun is build 1 year ago, had about 20k of rounds trought and i haven't had any problems with the slide cracking (but my slide is a shortened 6" unique slide, all the others were 5" unique slides) any one know of sti having any problems with the materials or changed something, sti has replaced all the slides under warranty wich is a good service.
  15. I only go for alpha's in a training, when you are training time isn't such an important thing, better pay attention to accuracy and how to choose positions, train different positions espacially the one's you don't like or wich are difficult for you, etc etc etc. like a top shooter once said: "ONLY SHOOT AS FAST AS YOU CAN SHOOT ALPHA'S" but then another shooter once said to me:"IF YOU ONLY SHOOT ALPHA'S, YOU AREN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH"
  16. i use a complete dillon die set (resizer, seater & crimp) it works fine for me. (9major, 124grn rn, 6.9 grn vv n350, 29.3 mm oal, spm)
  17. i use an old towel, spread the brass on the towel, and be sure they al on their side, then put 1 or 2 sprays of case lube or a little bit of teflon spray on it, close the towel and give it a shake, put in the casefeeder and you good to go.

  19. i murdered an infrared sidearm on a ced chrono last week, next time i better look where i shoot instead of watching the screen and shooting simultaniously
  20. copied from a fellow shooter. Well Ladies and Gentalmen, The Axe is falling in Holland the parts of the goverment are trying to get all Dynamic Disaplines banned here in Holland......bellow is the translated letter what was placed on the Dutch forum today. if there are people that can help it is needed now. Yours Keith To all NPSA members, The entire board of the NPSA has just had a meeting with a delegation from the KNSA directors, namely Mr Greve, Duisterhof and IJzerman. Actually it was more a statement on behalf of Minister Opstelten. The Minister will tomorrow or the day send a message to the House in which he indicates that he intends the dynamic disciplines such as practiced by NPSA and APS ban. This despite the position of the KNSA that they have no objection dynamic disciplines, if properly regulated as to the NPSA. The motive of Minister Opstelten is that he believes that shooting sports - and the associated weapons, which are taught to shoot from a combat-like background on moving targets would not be allowed and that there would be no public support for. Plays of Charles Greve to say not so much the affair in Alphen a major role but would the events in Norway largely the specter forms. The ban on dynamic disciplines to shoot would respond by May 1, 2012. This under a transitional arrangement that the trail shoot for the current trail shooters may be practiced until 31 December and 31 December 2012 more. What is starting to happen? The circular will be 1 May appear in new form. This is accompanied by a change in the law. The expectation is that this law for the chamber recess will be treated in the House. Then the still by the Upper House. It is important to plan routes and meeting agendas of the Assembly into view to timely policy (or at least as large a portion thereof) to be satisfied that this measure is absolutely absurd and no sane person to justify. Who believes in that field experience / inputs / contacts and his / her can contribute is urged to contact with the board. This is a short and professional representation of the state of affairs. It will be apparent to all that we particularly like directors disappointed and angry. Now, anger is a bad counselor and we love the most business. In the coming period we will in any case need to devise a plan of action that the highest priority. All other cases that have no immediate urgency so as to be put on ice. Behalf of the entire NPSA Board Eduard Rodigas, Chairman
  21. the versa pouches comes with special made wedges wich go between the pouch hanger and the belt, so you can secure them.
  22. My mag's are steel with Aluminum spacers to will the wide body gap..... ok i tought they only make plastic magazines.
  23. ok i didn't know that, but this is made with an sti frame.
  24. My experience is the opposite. The gun runs longer on grease, and is easier to clean. +1, and you can oil up a gun put it in the case and a week later your have a dry gun and a wet case. I ran two complete nationals in Vegas using grease and clp no problem one limited and one open, but actually Vegas is a lot easier to keep a gun running than south texas, the red sand here will stop anything, even locked up my ghost holster. No body said use a 4" paint brush to put it on a little bit on a Q-tip is plenty too much. When the temps dive maybe thin it a bit but the fact that it stays put is what makes it work so well. I've never seen any documented with numbers slide cycle tests, I hear a lot a bull about the cycle speed but until someone actually proves it with numbers its just banter. I will belive that the feel can change but the speed is still way faster than the average shooter can comprehend. 1 ran 2 tours in afghanistan and 1 in irak, believe me, grease will eventually jam the gun with all that dirt it atracts, on my last tour i just used only a little bit of oil on the guns, and they never jammed.
