  2. the most safe option is to have a backup gun, so you can concentrate on the match instead of repairing your gun in time for the next stage, and if your gun breaks it's always something that is not in your spare parts kit. i never had a backup gun, but i always go to matches with a friend wich has exactly the same gun as me, so when my gun breaks i will use his and vice versa, both guns work with all of our magazines, we load the same ammo, and the zero for him and me is almost the same. the only spare parts that i had with me, was a spare firing pin, spare extractor, spare magazine + spare basepads, springs and followers, and a cmore battery.
  3. ok thnx, i will wait till they get back in stock.
  4. are those larger than the original grips on the shadow???
  5. custom shadow is not allowed in ipsc production div.
  6. i decided to go back to basic, i'm gonna quit ipsc open div, en start with a new challenge in ipsc production div. i shot a few times with the sp01 shadow, and i like the trigger, plenty of parts available, it comes with 3 magazines, but the grip is a little to small for my hands (but that is not a very big issue) and it has no adjustable sights. and after some searching on the sig site, i liked the looks of the sig p226 x-five allround, it has adjustable sights, but i have never had the opportunity to shoot with it (only shot with the p226 x-five), and the local gunstores don't have them in stock at the moment, so i i'm not able to go look and feel, i liked the normal x-five, but that one has a sao trigger, and the allround a da/sa, how is the trigger on the sig compared to trigger on the shadow?? is it possible to lighten the trigger pull a with minor modifications (going to shoot ipsc prod with it so there's not much possible with modifications) so wich one should i get??
  7. the shipping problem is solved.
  8. an update: the extractor is warranted by millenium custom, but now we come to the next problem and that is the shipping, he isn't allowed to ship overseas.
  9. yes the fp stop was fitted correctly, and there will be a new one installed along with the new aftec.
  10. i will let my gunsmith check on the fitting (and he will fit the new one also), but as far as i could see there was nothing wrong with it, and it functioned flawlesly for 2 years and 25k of rounds. but not only the aftec broke, the firing pin stop is also damaged, maybe i didn't mounted it back correctly after cleaning.
  11. nothing wrong with aftec, i'm now using it for years in my other guns. my open gun is the last gun i bought 2 years ago, and only with this gun the aftec broke, that sometimes happens with race parts i think.
  12. ok thanks, i will send them an email.
  13. i live in the netherlands, so that would be a problem i pay more shipping costs, than the price of the extractor itself. but i will try to contact them, does anyone know where te contact them, cause on google i only found company's wich sell them.
  14. so i was training this evening, and after about 50 rounds, i had an fte, cleared it, and kept on shooting, few rounds later again an fte, so i stripped the gun, took the extractor out, changed cleaned it and changed the springs on the extractor, and started shooting again, and about 15 rounds later, again an fte, took everything apart again, nothing special to see, put it back together again, shot two rounds and after the second round again an fte, unloaded the gun, but now it wouldn't go into battery, i first thought that my slide cracked but after inspecting the slide this wasn't the case, but when i looked at the breechface, i saw that the extractor hook was turned 90 degrees, and when i looked at the slide from behind, everything looked normal, so i took the extractor out again but now it came out in two pieces. also the firingpin stop is a little damaged, but that can be normal wear and tear. has anybody else had this problem with his aftec?? the gun has about 25k of 9mm major rounds trough it, and never had any other problems with it.
  15. that's a good thing, here you pick up the brass from the shooter wich shoots after you, and if you are the last one on a squad you pick the brass from the first shooter, but the last few matches most people forgot about it, so brass cases where all over the place, not very handy on a shooting range with a concrete floor.
  16. repetition is the strength of the exercise
  17. i shot both, i like both, they both work reliable, the super is a little more easy to reload. there is no superior cartridge in this comparison, just pick one and go shoot it. AMEN brother I'm gonna go for the 38 I live in the Philippines by the way, and yeah in all matches, every stage has a couple of guys picking up brasses in our country it is mandatory to pick up brass.

  19. i shoot an 9mm major open gun, because i can get unlimited brass with the same headstamp for free, but there is less choice in powder for 9mm major. i didn't feel much difference in shooting my 38super and 9mm gun, and they both run fine. buying a 300000 dollar sports car is something different than buying a 3000 dollar gun, some people (like me) have saved up money for years so they can buy a gun, and have fun with it, and i want to shoot as cheap ass possible, shooting 9mm saves me about 750 euro's a year compared to 38super, that is almost half of my total ammunition costs for one year.
  20. it's the same short barrel as the matchmaster, i know a guy who has two matchmasters, in 9major, when he started shooting with it, he had to load 7.5 grns of vihta n350 with a 124 grn bullet 29.4mm oal, to make 163pf, now he uses vectan sp2 9 grns, but after 6000 rounds the slide cracked on 1 of the guns, sti sended him a new slide under warranty. but with these loads the gun is very good to control.
  21. i shot fed 205 in my 9mm, for years, they give you a little more velocity, but never had any malfunctions with them.
  22. did you try a, docter / deltapoint or similar mounted on the slide, or 90 degree mount with cmore?? it's possible to run an open gun with iron sights, but it's a big disadvantage. i think more training and dry firing is the clue.
