  1. Would the PowerSpeed work with a Glock?? From what I understand they rely partially on magnets and I have read a lot of negative things about them. But those who are dissatisified tend to crow louder than those who ate satisified. The Hogue Powerspeed will work IF you don't have a frame mounted optic. I had a Hogue that I used for a couple of years with my 1911 for L10 and my Glock 22 when I switched to Limited. Nice to not have to buy a new holster for a new gun.
  2. Are you using a lightened striker? In my experience, you NEED a lightened striker in order to use the lightened striker spring. A lightened striker spring with the stock striker will give you light primer hits.
  3. When did you start shooting open? Umm... last weekend. (Jun. 26, 2011) Was 40 your first caliber in open? Yes. Why did you choose 40? Because I can use the same frame for Open and Limited. What make is your gun? Glock Who built it? Me. What barrel length, comp and optic are you using? Glock 22 RTF2 frame & slide, Lone Wolf barrel, Jager comp, C-More STS red dot. Glockworx trigger, (2lb), and magwell. Jager striker and steel guide rod. 4 mags w/ Dawson +5 basepads. 1 mag w/ Taylor Freelance +8 basepad. I also have a Lone Wolf Glock 24 slide & barrel for use in Limited. Do you run a big stick, and what capacity are you getting? Yes. Taylor Freelance +8 basepad. I'm actually getting +9, for a total of 24 rounds. What have you settled on for a load? Haven't yet. At the moment the lightest bullet I could find locally was 165gr. I'm looking at 135gr plated, (Berry's of Rainer), 8.3 gr Autocomp, Winchester small primer, OAL 1.135" Should be good for about 172 PF. What's your open classification? Unclassified. I've only shot one classifier so far. I expect to be C class. (That's what my classification is in Limited & L10.) Where do you live? Missouri
  4. I personally would go with the Ghost holster. I have one for my G22 open gun, and it works just fine. When it's locked, it's locked, and even when it's not, the gun will not fall out unless you turn it almost completely upside-down.. OTOH, I have seen a DAA holster FALL OFF of the belt mount! True, the block remained locked on the gun, but the whole thing fell off of the belt mount. If you go with the DAA, make DAMN sure that you use Loctite on the adjustment screws!
  5. No, I think he's talking about the trigger block lever on the trigger itself.
  6. 8.1 Handgun Ready Conditions 8.1.2 Self-loading Pistols: 8.1.2.1 "Single action" – chamber loaded, hammer cocked, and the safety engaged. 8.1.2.2 "Double action" – chamber loaded, hammer fully down or decocked. 8.1.2.3 "Selective action" – chamber loaded with hammer fully down, or chamber loaded and hammer cocked with external safety engaged (see Divisions in Appendix D). 8.1.2.4 With respect to Rules 8.1.2.1 and 8.1.2.3, the term "safety" means the primary visible safety lever on the handgun (e.g. the thumb safety on a "1911" genre handgun). In the event of doubt, the Range Master is the final authority on this matter. That explains why you can pin the GS on a 1911. It's not the PRIMARY visible safety. On a Glock, the trigger-block is the ONLY visible safety, so I would assume that means you can't remove it.
  7. Just curious if anyone has tried using the Arredondo teflon followers for .40 Glock mags. I'm wondering of they might be more reliable and give you 20 rnds.
  8. Most of the guys I shoot with are only loading 19 into their STI & SV mags anyway, so I don't think I'm at a disadvantage by not loading to 20. I know what you mean by the reload dropping though. I had that happen to be once on my frist outing with the gun, and I started loading to 19 after that.
  9. I've got the Dawson's too, and I like them, but I can't figure out how everyone is getting 20 rnds in them reliably. I can physically FIT 20 in the mag, but I really have to smack them hard to seat them, and loading from a mag with 20 rnds, forget it. I can't even rack the slide with 20 in the mag. Maybe I need to leave them loaded a while so the springs take a set, but for now, I can't get more than 19 rnds to run reliabaly.
  10. I've got Dawson's on mine, and they work just fine. I definitely have problems getting a full 20 rnds in them though. They will take 20, but the slide will bind. Still, my Glock 22 with 19+1 rnds is about the same as my friends with their STI's. They only manage to get 19 in their STI's.
  11. Glockworx fulcrum trigger. Glockworx 2lb race connector. Glockworkx titanium FP safety & spring. Glock striker & striker spring. Gives me about a 3# pull with no takeup and short reset. I tried using a reduced power striker spring, but I got light primer stikes. I'll probably try a lightweight striker. Looking to get that 2# trigger pull, and still have good primer strikes.
  12. I was using the JP Enterprises, but I thought it was too long and interfered with my grip. I removed the button from it and put it on a stock G22 mag release. I can still reach the release and drop the mag without shifting my grip.
  13. I plan on being in Rolla again this year. This year I'm going to be shooting Limited with a Glock 22. Hopefully I won't over-do the power factor this year. Last year was my 1st major match with a chrono, so I kinda overdid it to make sure I made major. Ended up with something like a 185 PF!
  14. Looks like an interesting option for someone who users their Glock for both carry and games.
  15. It's not just the locking back with 1 or 2 rounds left in a double-stack gun, but also the fact that's it's easier to over-insert a mag and jam a double-stack with the slide locked back.
  16. Results are up on the USPSA website. Will you be posting the unofficial combined scores? You're asking the wrong person. I have nothing to do with posting scores. I'm just a lowly competitor like everyone else. Just pointing out that they were on the USPSA website.
  17. Happens to me all of the time. My mind is on the next target before I've got two good hits on the target I'm on currently. Result is usually several Mikes because I'm trying to transition too quickly. (Probably why I'm stil a C shooter after a year of competition.)
