  1. Great to hear. I accidentally bought a box at a local gun show thinking they were regular. At least now I know they can be used.
  2. I disagree with this. Isn't the 180 rule about the same? IDPA doesn't have a 180 rule, but many clubs do. So these clubs also shouldn't be able to become IDPA clubs? Both are safety issues that a club should be allowed to enforce. The muzzle-up rule is becoming adopted by more and more clubs.
  3. 9mm 1. Montana Gold 124 Grain Complete Metal Jacket (CMJ) 2. CCI Small Pistol primers 3. Hodgdon TiteGroup. 4.0 grains for about 130-132 power factor. 4. Normally PMC, but will use mixed headcase.
  4. I only use CCI small pistol primers. Following the advice of RGinIdaho and Alvarez, I took off the shell plate, platform base disk, and the primer system. The was crud built up and was probably the cause. I actually had a spare Primer Slide, so I replaced that at the same time. I cleaned everything up and it is working fine again. Thanks for the help.
  5. I have a Dillon SDB 9mm press. Just recently it has started randomly denting primers. I haven't changed anything on the press lately, but it appears that I have knocked something out of position. The shell plate seems to be tight and I make sure to do a full up-stroke and down-stroke. It is hard to see, but the picture shows what I am seeing. Does anybody have any idea what to look at before I call Dillon?
  6. Chris, Great stuff. It shows some real imagination in developing stuff. Duane
  7. Chris, Thanks for the suggestions and idea. I would appreciate any additional ideas you can provide. Thank you Duane
  8. Our club would like to build some electronic target activators (light beams, etc). Does anybody have any designs they would be willing to share?
  9. Does the logbook include the dry fire exercises?
  10. I stick to 10+1 because I sometimes use my XDm. Staying consistent reduces the chance of a mistake. I thought that if ALL your magazines were 10 rounds, then you had to do the 10+1. But if ANY magazine only held 9 rounds, then you had the choice. But you can't mix & match during a IDPA match - either 9+1 or 10+1.
  11. I normally load Montana Gold 124 gr CMJ Round Nose bullets in 9mm. I was just given a bunch of Montana Gold 147 gr CMJ. The person who gave them to me says they are Round Nose, but while they look similar, the end is flat. Are these considered round nose of flat when trying to select the seating stem (Dillon press)? What would be a good starting OAL? I did a search but don't seem to find any data for these specific bullets. thanks for the help.
  12. I am very happy with the Carry magwell I am using. I did consider the G10 grips, but stayed with the aluminum to keep the weight down.
  13. I sure hope they are still that quick. The handle on my SDB snapped. Maybe I am seating my primers tool hard. Of course I have over 10,000 rounds loaded and this is my first problem with it.
  14. Yes, I keep fiber and everything needed to replace them in my bag.
  15. I have the Tripp, Dawson, and Wilson ETM that I use for IDPA. I find that both the Wilson and the Dawson magazines are a little harder to unload. Unloading is easy with the UpLula. I also really like the Tripp. They are easier to unload and perform well, but I have experienced rounds becoming dislodged during a tactical reload or fall out in the magazine pouch. My Wilson have the composite followers and they seem to wear pretty quickly in my SA. When that happens, the slide fails to lock back. Overall I like the Dawson the best of the group. They are easy to load and have been very reliable.
  16. That tool looks like a lighter weight version of the Meprolight tool. I wonder if it will remove those extremely tight fitting XD sights? It was able to remove the sights from my XDm 9mm. The XD should be about the same.
  17. This one works good with the XDm and the 1911. Universal Sight Pusher
  18. When did Springfield start installing the ILS instead of the MSH? Can it be ordered from Springfield with an MSH? thanks
  19. I just talked to Robert about this issue. Unfortunately, the ILS is viewed as a safety feature that can't be disabled. He understands that the ILS is really a safety feature for storage, but until something is changed, it must remain enabled. Hopefully in the future. I guess that I will leave the ILS on for now.
  20. I thought I saw this answer somewhere, but didn't find in doing a search. Can I legally replace the ILS on my Springfield Arms 1911 with a MSH? Could you order a factory 1911 with the MSH? Thank you
  21. Thanks for the link. I just purchased 3 from this seller. He was very fast and professional. I have been using the Tripp magazines, but have experienced a few instances where a cartridge would dislodge during the loading. The Wilson magazines seem to have slightly closer fit.
  22. I will be attending the Classifier on the 17th. Are you going to attend? I normally attend Orlando on the 1st Sunday, Titusville on the 3rd, and Port Malabar on the 4th. I try to attend Volusia on the 2nd, but can't make that all the time due to other committments.
  23. I didn't make the trip because of company. Did you attend? They are a pretty friendly group.
  24. I am planning on attending, but not 100% yet. I just had company show up and don't know when they are leaving. Hope to know tomorrow.
