  1. Hi Ya, nope no chrono, and the local range is indoor. so only chance to chrono is outdoor at a match, if I ask my buddy to bring his. I will check length and take that into consideration. the reason for loading full is to knock over steel plates. I tried the loads yesterday, 4.3 to 4.8gn cycle well, with no noticeable drop at 20 yards so I am going with that. Especially now that you pointed out the excessive pressure issue: hodgdon book gives oal at 1.09" on load data allowing 5.3gn of Auto Comp, since I am loading 1.16" oal I am well within the safe area. Much obliged,
  2. HI Ya. after 4 years of reloading, casting, and smelting I still don't know why I start low and work up?? am I worried about pressure? right now I am concerned that 124gn 9mm doesn't easily knock down texas stars like 147gn, I have 2000 to go thru. either gun: CZ75 or XD9
  3. hi Jack, I don't need to make PF, but I need to knock over 8" steel plates; some attached to a Texas Star. but with your advise and Koop's I am going lower, even to 3.8gn. I will take it to the indoor range and try it on paper.
  4. hi Koop, makes sense to me; I will load a few at 4.8gn and try that. in fact where I bought it Phoenix they told me the load was 3.7g but I saw that as too low.
  5. hi Ya Guys, I loaded some Auto Comp behind 124gn plated bullets; they shot low at 20 yards, I am using max allowed in Hodg book at 5.3gn, is more better or worse? much obliged,
  6. hi AJ, do you think it is still available? I am buying under the GSSF member discount which means LGS takes order and sends to Glock for fulfillment, unlike regular sales it includes 3 mags. I wonder if they still have those with Pic rail and Ambi, I will certainly ask.
  7. hi ya, I should be more specific; I am currently living in the 'peoples republic of Kalifornia' therefore no Gen 4 (except SSE).
  8. so then it isn't an option now? drat, it would have been nice as that is how I manipulate my mags on the Springfield XD during competitions; with smaller hands it doesn't require a shift in grip. long live Springfield!
  9. Hi Nik, Gen 3 good; do I have to have some info to order that way?
  10. Hi Ya Guys, I am about to 'pull the trigger' on a new G21SF; I see something about there being an ambi mag release.is that true? That would be good as I am used to my Springfield XD-Tactical which has that. got intel? much obliged, Max
  11. Guys, thanks for the input. I am going to buy a model 21SF or maybe win one at the Father's Day drawing at our SSA shooting club.

    new to Glock?

so what is difference between a 'picatinny' rail and a Glock rail?

    new to Glock?

Mr. Weirdman, thanks for clarifying that. since I will be getting either a member discount or a free certificate (see my opening post) I will no doubt get what is most current from Glock. the question only arose as I was looking over the holster choices at Blade-Tech. they are my go to guys for holsters for the steel matches.

    new to Glock?

Lee, right on, my style exactly, old eyes like the Dawson and FO combo. I scraped together enough $$ for another 1911 before I decided on the Glock, so no problem there.

    new to Glock?

Hey, I might have started this in Glock forum but heck I go down one way streets the wrong way. next ? I noticed on Blade-Tech page for holsters that the 21SF comes with either picatinny rail or single slot rail, are they both options? which is better?

    new to Glock?

HI J and friends, got it. that about sizes it up. now I cant wait for the next drawing for a free one. since we don't shoot on Father's day this year it will be last weekend of this month. as fast as my short legs will carry me on Monday, should I not win a free one, I will begin by buying a G21SF.

    new to Glock?

HI Ya Bunny and friends, sound advise. I was thinking of adding a trigger job; one I am told is using stock Glock parts but shortens the take up, ever heard of it? is it still stock?

    new to Glock?

HI Ya, after maybe 4 years of R.O.ing the GSSF matches; and shooting borrowed pistols in the matches I guess I need one. So help me out in my thinking a bit: I decided on .45acp (why? I have only one 1911, and none in polymer), is one reason. Full size is best ( no model 41 in Califorina) So model 21; somewhat smaller hands, so SF seems right. now the hard part; I suspect that it will be come a SD gun at home. And I want it stock enough for the GSSF now the hard part:- what to buy what to add to it? oh and I hope to win one at our next drawing: Father's Day. Or I have the members discount coupon, if that helps (LGS says it will cost me $485. with coupon). much obliged, Max
  19. Hey 00, a fitting cap to all this back and forth over Glock at the match; I WON $50.00, can you believe it; loading problems, shooting problems, and not to mention I was in competition class as I had initially borrowed a model 34; although I finished the match with a model 17. and I finished 106 out of 106. they awarded me $50.00! I guess I ought to get a Glock for my self.
  20. Mr. Guy, what you said and what they said. however; take a brass rod sized smaller than the barrel (Brownell's) and go slow works also. I have 150 -.38 spl bullets lightly loaded that may have double charge in one or so. my options were to pull them, throw them away. or final option was to shoot thru a heavy barrel .357 Blackhawk where it wont really cause damage. guess which I did.
  21. from a sampler my mother made and framed on the wall: 'Ve gets too soon olt Und too late Schmart'
  22. ive tried it all; progressives work best. of course I cant shoot well at my age anyway. I haven't won a competition unless its all old guys.
  23. Armour Belts look good, however unless you are a cowboy the buckles selection is weak; like Bullhide Belts. Those are the only two brands recommended that seem good for carry to me unless you don't care if your showing your gun.
  24. Hi Ya, my sentiments exactly, I don't want to deprime first on a single stage and then run them thru my 550 or 450 press again; too much work. besides all the real volume people at our gun club don't. I like your explanation however; there may have been media left after tumbling. I must confess I use whatever is at hand for polishing/cleaning agent. lately its Brasso, usually car polish. That could have made some media stick in case and I didn't see it until the powder covered it.
  25. hi, we shoot steel in Corona Ca; its called Steel Madness. I suggest you ask your questions in the CZ page; just look for it. I also have a CZ75 but not the TS, good gun. other two places to ask are czcustom.com and Dave Milam at Cajun Gun or something like that. they are both on this forum. Welcome,
