  1. I have shot a few. She is plenty accurate for steel matches, and 5 mags go a long way. I enjoy it a lot. So far 100% accuracy, and have gone weeks without cleaning. I shoot better ammo at matches, but it doesn’t seem to make a noticeable difference.
  2. Have learnt about it on this forum a few years back, and I also think it is much cleaner than TG. Using a paper towel occasionally is more than enough to keep my guns running. Quite a different story with TG, which I used to call Titepoop. I still have more than 10lbs in stock, but I dread the day when I will need more.
  3. It runs amazing. It is a very reliable gun, accurate and ergonomic.. load the magazines carefully, lots of problems are caused by improperly loaded ammunition. I have even started to use it for steel matches and am having a lot of fun with it. EDIT: I had forgotten I had already replied to this thread a few months back. Sorry, consider this an update. I like it even more, to put things in perspective I sold a Mamba I owned because the 10 rounds capacity was boring and at steel challenge distances the 322 is plenty accurate. I have run mine very dirty (shoot suppressed and all) to see how long she would go, and am 3 bricks without cleaning without an issue.
  4. I have become a big fan of the 322, to the point I can say it’s my favorite 22 ever. I have had Rugers, a Neos, a G44 and more recently a TX22. The TX22 is the only one that compares, but Taurus reputation did non disappoint. A pin started to walk on mine, turning it into a one shot affair in the middle of a match. I have shot a few bricks with the 322, and some of them were very old, the price tag was $15.50 for 500 rounds. The gun is reliable, accurate, fun to shoot and comes optics ready, suppressor ready, and with two triggers. I have installed the Armory craft, and I believe it to be a marked improvement and a worthy expense. Have replaced the Sentinel with a Holosun and I much prefer it. No changes in reliability. 22 rounds of .22. I always thought it impossible, but they made it and it’s fun fun fun. Load it carefully, and she will do her part.
  5. I have recently scored 4lbs of Ramshot Competition, a powder am not familiar with, and I would like to know if there are good load data available. At my disposal I have some coated Precision Bullet in 125gr, 147gr, and 160gr. Any help is appreciated.
  6. This pretty much sums my opinion on the brand. There are better choices at any price point.
  7. Have been loading Federal for years, not continuously but periodically, in the tens of thousands. Never had an issue with the SDB or the 550. With the 650 I get the occasional sideways primer. I also listen to what the push is telling me. As a sidebar, I have found that regular Q tips work perfectly for cleaning primer tubes. Dip the head in alcohol and push it down with the rod. They come out green.
  8. I have changed out my dies as recommended here, and am VERY happy. No issues whatsoever with the rounds I am producing (bar the occasional primer sideways which happens on the 650) and flawless quality. Thank you, the money spent on changing up the dies was very much worth it.
  9. Sphinx SDP mags fit it and work well, they stick out some.
  10. I shoot a Sphinx SDP regularly and love it, and would be very interested in the standard version of the Redback. Is it available in the USA?
  11. Thank you for writing my post, lazy day.
  12. Allow me to thank everybody for their suggestions and input on my request. I have taken two steps recommended by some 1) increased OAL 1.150 minimum. this decreased the problem but did not eliminate it. 2) purchased a Hornady seating die (no crimping) These two steps seem to have eliminated the issue in a speedy economical way and for that I am very grateful. Really like the Hornady tool-free adjustment knob by the way clearly superior.
  13. The camera cleaner is the same as the Giotto I mentioned earlier. Also don't forget that the gun powder you pick up from the table can be reused as a fertilizer in your plants even if not clean enough to be used.
  14. Rather than canned air I use a Giotto air blaster, which does a good job at cleaning without dispersing stuff around. Use Q-tips and alcohol and some paper towels. The air blaster is the only cleaning I do regularly, the rest when I see the need for it.
  15. Haven't gotten anything yet, but have increased OAL to 1.140 - 1.1145. Rejects are less, but are still there in annoying quantity.
  16. Thank you all for the replies. Just to clarify, my question was focused on 9mm which is the caliber I load the most. Is this the for those who recommend Hornady as a better alternative for seating? https://www.amazon.com/Hornady-044144-Bullet-Seating-355/dp/B003D75LR4/ref=sr_1_2?crid=298DCJEQ8YK1O&dchild=1&keywords=hornady+seating+die+9mm&qid=1594658538&sprefix=9mm+hornady+seating%2Caps%2C168&sr=8-2 And for crimping? https://www.amazon.com/LEE-PRECISION-90860-Carbide-Factory/dp/B000O7HCK0/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=hornady+crimp+die+9mm&qid=1594658676&sr=8-4
  17. Time ago I bought a Lee undersized die to replace my Dillon sizing die based on recommendations from the Forum. It works well, I would say better than the OEM. A few days ago, I opened a thread because of an issue with bulging rounds and I received the recommendation to replace the seating die with a Hornady custom. Now, before buying it, is there something else I should replace? The crimping one? The powder? All of them? in other words, I am used to think of Dillon as top of the line (I use a 650 and am very happy with it; in the past I have owned also a 550 and a SDB and both were excellent) but it seems that it is not true of the dies that come with it. Thoughts?
  18. I will get the Hornady, see how that goes.
  19. I am entirely with you on that one. Love the Gen 5's guns but struggle with how tight the new barrels are. They are tighter though, and I feel a smidge more accurate so there is that to say.
  20. First of all, thank you all for the replies. That said, I am confused. Flaring too much, too little? My flare works just fine with the coated bullet which in theory are even wider. Can somebody cut the Gordian knot please? There seems to a consensus on 1) bullets are not getting in straight. To that I agree, but please notice that I have even slowed down operations to hold the bullets with my fingers trying to keep them straight. Also I checked and the the seating die is set up correctly with the round end. 2) OAL is not enough. Problem is I am using mostly a Gen 5 which is tight tight tight. Very accurate, but not tolerant at all. Will see where I can push it. And yes, I have tried the plunk test as intended, I showed the gauge because it's easier to take a picture of it since I don't need to hold it. I was hoping of not having to spend money since I do not plan to buy these particular bullets again but if I must... double alpha here I come. But again, double alpha or the Hornady die somebody recommended? Thanks again.
  21. This is how much the rounds are sticking out.
  22. Recently I bought a couple of thousands Precision Delta 147 RN FMJ for the first time, just bought what was available. Am loading them @1.120 with mixed range brass. Am experiencing an unacceptable reject rate, rounds are bulging and fail the plunk test miserably. Recently I have reloaded a lot of Precision bullets (the coated ones) and Acme and have had maybe 0.5% reject rate, things were running way better. Am loading on 650 with a Lee undersize resizing/decapping die and the rest is standard Dillon dies. Below a typical failed round.
