  1. A magwell could help save some time and make up for a mental mistake, be it in competition or on the street in a life or death situation. Might not be any documented cases of reloading during a street fight, (other than LEO) but I'd sure like to have my magwell if I'm the first in one of those documented cases!
  2. Lawman, care to elaborate or speculate on which rules might be changed for Limited Rifle? This is off of the topic, but is an adjustable butt-plate legal on an open gun?
  3. One thing to remember, and correct me if I'm wrong. When using a holster with a retention device (strap) the strap must be used. I would think that your duty holster would have a strap and therefore must be used. The safarilland holders aren't legal for SSR in IDPA, you might be able to use them since they are part of your LEO duty rig, but keep in mind that you'll probably have to use all of your duty rig and not just the holders with some other type of holster.
  4. I would recommend you give TTi Intl. a call or email. Talk to John, he'll help walk you thru the process. He just built a complete Limited 20" Rifle for me and I'm very happy. John is a good guy and stands behind his products! Make sure you get his TTi Eliminator comp, it is great to shoot with. TTi Intl.
  5. My bad, didn't realize they had made a 686 .38super. Another reason the smaller caliber moon clip guns don't work as well is the amount of space between the chambers in the cylinder. This gives the shooter more room for error in doing the reload. With the 625 if you are off a little, with a good RN bullet it will "glide" into the chamber. I have had trouble with the "glide" while doing the reloads on the clock during match conditions......but that is another story. Practice.....Practice......Practice!
  6. YES! Smith & Alexander magwell on my Kimber (CDP) and on my Springfield (ESP) gun. Never had one without, but I think it definitely helps with the reloads.
  7. I just bought a complete rifle from TTi with the TTi eliminator comp on it and I really love it. The comp is great! TTi AR-15 TTi Eliminator Comp
  8. The 686 is not a 38 super it is a .38 special or .357 revolver. I've had and shot both the 686 and the 625. In my opinion the 625 with the full moon clips is a better choice for IDPA use.
  9. OK, my bad! I was a little tired when asking the question, I realized the bipods aren't kosher for limited. So which bi-pod is recomended on an open gun? 6-9"? 9-13"? Swivel? I also realize that one bipod won't work for every situation, I'm just curious if you can only have one, which would it be? Wise guys can also answer this!
  10. If you were to buy one bi-pod to have and use for 3-gun competition on a AR-15 what would it be and why? FYI, I have a free float handguard with a bi-pod stud installed. Thanks......
  11. Get a Dawson Prec. fiber optic, and also order a lot of luck to go with it. Being lucky is better than being good!
  12. Short story..........I have a friend that gave a .38 super and a .40 to a Gunsmith at recent match to have some minor work done on them. On the way home we get to talking and come to find out, he doesn't even know the gunsmiths name or how to get in touch with him. He had seen the guy before at the range just never got his name. I'm sure that he could find out who he is from the range's owner. Just seemed like a funny story that I had to share with you all. The least I would say is that my friend is very trusting.......sure hope he get his 2 1911's back, at least by next season!
  13. I got my new AR-15 last week fro TTi and here are a few pictures of it. 20" H-Bar A3 w/ Detatchable Carry Handle TTi Eliminator Comp Fluted Free-Float Handguard 2.5# Jard trigger Shoots very nice and TTi is a good bunch to work with. Thanks John! TTi Intl.
  14. Patches, if it doesn't work out let me know, I would be happy to pick some up here locally and mail them to you. The picture of the red dial above is mine and now they have them "Dillon" blue also.
  15. I thought that you had to declare the firearms when checking in and that they put a sticker on the outside of the case saying "Firearm", wouldn't be much of disguise factor going on if this is true. Maybe they aren't doing this anymore, not sure.
  16. What is the most IDPA Major matches that you have done in a years time?
  17. Just saw one on ebay, made by Winchester that would handle a scoped AR and a shotgun. It had 2 compartments one on the top and one on the bottom and it had wheels. Pretty cool looking, Cabelas also has several in there catalog. Ebay search: "shotgun rifle case"
  18. I have and use a Springfield 9mm 1911, my opinion a 1911 9mm is the way to go. And now that Kimber is making them, you have a choice.
  19. They do glue on the base pad. Would they be illegal due to the length or due to glueing them on or why? I think I'll wait and see what the rule changes are also.
  20. Are these mag bumpers from Lone Wolf Dist legal is USPSA Production DIV.? Thanks
  21. Why deactivate a grip safety? Just curious as to the reason, I can think of some however, don't seem to be real "smart" reasons. Would you do the same on your carry gun?
  22. I did receive my packet in the mail and am now a happy member. Sectional Coordinator...................the check and a big bouquet of flowers is in the mail!
  23. I might be really new to USPSA but I to have an opinion, Change L-10 to L-8, so one could shoot the same Wilson mags as we do in the IDPA CDP division. These mags seem to be the prefered mags of the 1911'ers. I would also say that this would force the double stack 1911 super race guns into the division that they should be. I'm sure that I'm not the first with this opinion........oh yea sure is great that we live a country that I can share my opinion!
  24. I joined the USPSA organization via the web site and was just curious how quick I would here something from them. Haven't received anything via mail or email. Been probably a week. I patient, just curious.
