  1. The Bren Ten was a handgun made here in California that had fulfillment issues. It was a great idea, but the first guns shipped without a magazine. They could never secure the funding they needed to get production up to speed.
  2. Speaking of planning ahead, I just booked a house in Arizona for April... ...of 2023. I hope Rio holds their Southwest Revolver match again.
  3. Did I forget to mention it was a couple of smoking hot Filipinas ? (Relax, my wife's a Filipina)
  4. I was at my local indoor range yesterday shooting my 627. Indoors sucks, but I'm a member so I go every week. There were a couple of new shooters next to me, whacking away with a Glock at three yards. They were safe, and doing well. They seemed impressed with the size of my manly 627 I gave them a few minutes of "orientation" on how to load it, unload it, and shoot it. I had them dry fire it a bunch of times. I never mentioned it was double action only, or that only weenies shoot revolvers single action. Then I loaded up a few rounds, and let them shoot. They both enjoyed it, and I felt good about introducing new shooters to revolvers.
  5. Where and when will "open registration" be listed? Is there a link on practiscore ?
  6. I tumble in walnut media, and haven't experienced that. I did it once just to see if it would work. I've got a thousand .38 short colt cases, and 30 moon clips. I try to fire all 1000 cases, then reload.
  7. I've even tumbled them still loaded with empty brass. Comes out fine.
  8. So you're saying to toss them in a tumbler without a care in the world, tumble them, wipe them down, and then use them? Yeah, that works for me too
  9. Shooting a revolver single action is like kissing your sister
  10. Regarding the pushbutton cylinder release on the Korth, I don't want my cylinder any easier to come out, I want it harder
  11. Let's say you drive a Ferrari (I don't, I drive a Ford Pinto station wagon, but left say you did) and you went to pick up your grandkids. I'm sure a Ferrari is a fine car, but it's the wrong tool for the job. Same thing with a Korth and Man(thing I can't spell). I'm sure they're fine guns, just not the right tool for my job.
  12. The more I think about it, the more I realize it's not the right tool for the job I'm doing. It looks close, but no cigar. If I needed a Torx driver, and somebody gave me an Allen wrench, it looks close, but no cigar.
  13. Ok, here's my update !! One of the old guys I shoot with is a retired doctor, cardiologist I think. Huge gun collection. I told him about my feelings about Korths, and he said he had a few, and would bring one for me to try. Well today he shows up with a Manurhin instead. He goes on and on about it being the finest revolver ever made. I guess I'm not the target demographic. It's a nice gun, but again with a 9-10 pound double action trigger pull. Everybody that shot it, shot it single action... ...except me. I'm an ICORE competitor (or at least I want to be one when I grow up). I don't really get shooting revolvers single action, but different strokes. Maybe I'm looking at Manurhins and Korths wrong. Maybe it's not the tool for the job I have in mind, ICORE matches. Anyhow how, I told him how nice it was, and he was happy. Here's the Holy Grail. .
  14. An 870 is a fine gun. If you enjoy it, that's all that matters. I've never seen a serious sporting clays competitor use a pump gun in a major competition, but I'm sure people do.
  15. Again, in fit, finish, craftsmanship, and durability. It's simply a better made shotgun. If you're in So Cal you're welcome to shoot mine. My Krieghoff closes like a bank vault, my Brownings don't. It doesn't give you one more target broken, that's not how it works. If I used Tiger Woods' golf clubs, would I play any better? No way. Ever shot a North American Arms single action? I get why they cost what they do.
  16. I respectfully disagree. I have a few of both. It doesn't make you shoot any better, and I've seen guys win tournaments with Remington 1100s, but the craftsmanship and longevity of a Krieghoff compared to a Browning isn't even close. Brownings are great guns, but they simply don't compare. In sporting clays we have a saying, "it's the archer, not the arrow". Meaning it's the shooter, not his equipment. I used to take pictures for a magazine. And every once in a while I'd take a nice one. When someone said, that's a nice picture, what kind of camera did you use, I'd think , did they ask Picasso what kind of paint he used, because his paintings are nice.
  17. I shoot a Krieghoff shotgun (pictured below). It cost about 15 times what my Browning 525 cost. I get that nice things cost money. A baseline Krieghoff is about 5 times a Browning. They only difference between mine and a baseline is mine's spruced up. Is there a difference between a Krieghoff and a Browning? Yes A k-gun (that's what the cool kids call them) is a far superior to a Browning. After 15,000 rounds a Browning needs a rebuild. After 15,000 rounds a k-gun is just getting broken in. My grandkids and their grandkids will be shooting it. I can feel the difference. When I handled the Korth, I couldn't. Has anybody ever seen a Korth at an ICORE match? .
  18. Agreed, as long as you want a 9 pound trigger
  19. Is the glass half full, or half empty? I've already got a fishing trip planned for August. August of 2023. For me, the earlier I plan the better. I'm just glad there are matches to attend.
  20. SDM Super Sights fiber optic front sight. Speed Beez reloaders, Armscor .22 is the earliest to set off. With Armscor I can go as light as 7 pounds, everything else needs 8+.
