  1. I had an old Dan Wesson PM9 that was unramped. It ran flawless.
  2. I rigged up a mirror. It's on an extension, and you can move it around in all sorts of positions. Zip tied to the case feeder supports. Works good without having to buy video stuff. http://www.harborfreight.com/telescoping-mirror-7361.html
  3. It's not the best, and I was lost for a while during the first season, but I keep watching more.
  4. I uninstalled and reinstalled tapatalk on my phone a few weeks back which helped being able to see my participated content. The blue dots mentioned above do not seem to be working.
  5. After getting the run around for 3 months I cancelled my order. There are plenty of other options available at substantially less. Checking with your local Audiologist is one option. Plus they can see if your insurance will cover them.
  6. With mixed headstamp I would ditch the powder check. I've done a lot of rounds both ways, it really is a little more consistent with 2 stations, not that I ever had any problems with 1. I watch the powder in every case on my match loads, so the powder check was redundant.
  7. I found a 3.5 gallon tumbler, but it's $800 and not near large enough. Other options: Build a super sized Big Dawg and put 4 canisters on it Treadmill with a water tight 5 gallon bucket modified to agitate the brass
  8. Cement mixer. 300lb capacity, 6cu ft is 44 gallon. Should do a 5gallon bucket? http://www.toolfetch.com/kushlan-600dd-6-cubic-ft-3-4-hp-115v-odp-electric-direct-drive-portable-wheelbarrow-cement-mixer-with-steel-blades.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&utm_term=600DD&gclid=Cj0KEQjw76jGBRDm1K-X_LnrmuEBEiQA8RXYZ7_F3LZj4MiKDu1nvsY-SJ4j72hTf6kP7kzvb5cFf4saAiq68P8HAQ
  9. Getting in late Thursday, but its booked now. Action Pistol Regional in Lake Charles, La. Www.thecrawfishcup.com
  10. I've always used case lube, so that wasn't a solution for me.
  11. If it gives you an idea, my expander/swage backup rod is now 2.518 inches long. I dont know how long it was when I started. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. Yes. If its properly adjusted it should be at the bottom of the case already. So i filed some off to be able to screw it down further.
  13. The Dillon and Mr. Bulletfeeder funnel will both stick, even with lube when using the Lee Undersize die. I filed down my expander rod on the swage station to expand the case a little more there instead of relying on the powder funnel to do it all. That's what cured it for me.
  14. No. The rule reads "Open Modified". Not "Open, Modified".
  15. It's still a division afaik, they just don't offer it at the CUP.
  16. Rule changes posted: http://rulebooks.nra.org/documents/pdf/compete/rules/rul_action_pistol_17.pdf 5.3 “Ready (Starting) Position – “Poised Ready” designates a position in which the pistol is holstered and safe, and neither hand touches the pistol, holster, belt, spare magazine, or spare ammunition. If not specified in other sections of this Rule Book or in Tournament Program, the ready position shall be with competitor standing upright and hands held shoulder high. Other ready positions must be designated in the match description or program. Once the ready position is assumed, it may not be changed before the firing signal. Any such change, including the gradual motion of the hand toward the pistol (termed “creeping”) is considered a procedural error, and is to be penalized accordingly. It is the responsibility of the competitor to assume the correct ready position”. Rule 17.5 Courses of Fire for Which National Records are recognized. NOTE: National Action Pistol Shooting Records are maintained for scores fired over the following courses for “Open”, “Woman” , “Senior”, and “Grand Senior”, “Junior,” “Intermediate Junior”, and “Sub-Junior” categories.” Make the following Rule Clarification in Rules 10.15, 10.23, and 10.28: Add the words, ‘No portion of the firearm may rest against the Barricade for Open Modified, Metallic, or Production Firearms Divisions’.” Rule 3.2.1 Production Firearm: The intent of this rule is to encourage the use of Production Firearms as manufactured and promote NRA Action Pistol Shooting at the “Grass Roots” level. Accordingly, in order to keep this class from becoming an “Equipment Match”, Single Action only pistols are prohibited”. A Production Firearm is a semi-automatic handgun or revolver which is or has been a catalogue item readily available to the general public with factory notch & post sights. All standard safety features of guns must operate properly. To meet size requirements, handguns with empty magazine inserted must fit wholly within a box with internal dimensions of 8-15/16” x 6” x 1-5/8” (revolvers exempt). All magazines used during the competition must meet the dimensions of the magazine used to pass the Production Firearm size requirements. The firearm shall have no visible external modifications except as follows:”
  17. Trying, work booked me in Boston until Thursday at noon. Going to be tight.
  18. Sunday May 21st. See attached packet for more details. Contact Ron with any questions. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/58b496b55652e/Flag%20Cup%20Packet%202017.pdf
  19. The .308 case is too tall. It would impact the lock nut at the top of the die.
  20. You just want the neck large enough to hold the bullet until it can be seated. So .224 at the very top will probably be fine, just dont make the full neck .224 or you wont have any neck tension. .222 or .223 would be good to try, especially for boat tail bullets. 21. I use this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0041UJZ7Y/ref=sxr_pa_click_within_right_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=2795410502&pf_rd_r=56VZHNF9KJ3CZZXVED9A&pd_rd_wg=4HPXq&pf_rd_s=desktop-rhs-carousels&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_w=0Dqu8&pf_rd_i=lanolin&pd_rd_r=CFT6V5MPN3P5AZGP3W30&psc=1
  22. Last I checked 100 rounds, I got +- .001 with Zero JHP and Starline brass. Seated with a Hornady seating die via Ammobot automated 1050. Single headstamp is the best way to reduce variation. After that, stroke variation plays a big part also. Making the same stroke on the press every time is hard.
  23. After using it for a long while, lanolin coated the inside of my wet tumbler. Made it impossible to clean any brass. Lubed or not. Dirty brass would come out dull, black and coated in lanolin. Clean the pins in purple power and tumbled the tube empty with mineral spirits and dry media for a few days. It cleaned it up pretty well. Ive cut down the lanolin ratio now. Once it warms up, we'll see if its back to normal.
