  1. Looks like no more team stuff next week. Also looks like they will be throwing knives and shooting sling shots. Can we say that the top shot will have to win at a game of Rock / Paper / Scissor?
  2. I would take what Darrel says to the bank. He has tested probably every powder known to man and has the results to prove it. If you want to "Keep up with the Jone's" then spend all the extra money on N320 or you can buy something else that works and buy more primers and bullets with the savings.
  3. Blake must have enjoyed his vacation.
  4. I believe that for spectators to stay interested you need to have as much interactive targets as possible. Falling steel, swingers, movers. When I go to a match, with the intent to just watch, I normally get bored after the 1st 2 or 3 stages because even though you see the shooter engaging the target, you can not tell what or where he is hitting it. Just my 2 cents on the subject.
  5. I like the looks of it and the fact that I can take the magwell off if need very quickly. I have one on my Spartan. Overall I prefer my SVI single stack magwell better that I have on my Springfield.
  6. Seems like Blake is on vacation there.
  7. No matter what anyone says about Brad, you have to give him his props. He has now won 2 challenges in a row.
  8. You can order them online directly off the SVI web site. That is how I ordered mine.
  9. After 6 knee surgeries, the brass wizard is worth every penny to me.
  10. I actually enjoyed this show better than the first. I agree, that zip line looks cool.
  11. Welcome, you have alot of reading and information available here. Bayouslide is from that area (Teche).
  12. And what makes it suck more is that was the last stage and only had 12 more shots and 2 reloads to go. I hope this video can help someone with their technique. I am glad nothing bad came of this and you can see by my reaction, and the RO's, the pucker factor was elevated a bit.
  13. Here it is in slow motion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwHlbVLdvuU
  14. I do normally hold my trigger finger on the mag release button until the mag is seated, but in this case, for some reason, I moved my finger off the button to soon and with a 2.25 lb trigger it was all she wrote. This is the main reason I video myself as much as possible. I watch it in slow motion to see what I do wrong. I will upload the video of it in slow motion for everyone to see.
  15. Was having a good time shooting a match yesterday until I did something really stupid and got DQ'd. See if you can find the screw up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLdjOCmKUV8
  16. I ordered the remote control and the Silicon protective sleeve this morning. I will just place it on a mini tripod on one of the tables and use the remote to operate it next week. Here is the other video I made of me shooting Limited class, in the same match, with my Spartan 9mm. I just bag each gun after each stage since I am shooting 2 guns / classes at the same match. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTNEUfoh48U
  17. The owner of my local range / gun shop puts this match on. He calls them Practical Pistol matches. It is aimed at getting people into shooting and getting them to focus on accuracy instead of outright speed. The typical match has 3 targets set out anywhere from 5-25yds. Each stage is either 6 or 12 shots with a PAR time from 8-18 seconds. Scoring is based strictly on accuracy. 60 rounds per match with each shot worth up to 10 points. It looks easy when you watch it, but try shooting 5" x 5" head shots at 25 yds with a PAR time counting down on you is tough. It is a great match to get new shooters going as there is only Limited and Open class but we normal shoot 6 shots and then reload and shoot 6 more, so a person can basically shoot any gun they own. New shooters can draw from low ready and you can place your mag on the table next to you. Really helps keep the cost down. I won the championship match last year and took home a $350 gun store certificate. Oh, and you can only have the stated number of rounds in the your mags. So if you have a malfuntion and loose a round while you clear the problem you are S.O.L.
  18. Yes there is. I saw it this morning on either ebay or Amazon.
  19. I just recieved my Kodak Zi8 camera and shot this video this morning at a local match. Really nice camera with alot of nice features including being able to video in 1080P. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfEMktloZ10
  20. Can't comment on your loads but I did see a post by a member about him having succes with the Bayou Bullets coated lead bullets in his open gun.
  21. I am watching a show called "Handguns" on the Sportsman Channel on Direct TV. It is basically a TV show of the magazine named the same.
  22. That is a Tripp 10 round mad with Tripp base pads and the Dawson Ice for SS guns. I am running to Wilson ETM 10 rounders with the Ice Magwell with the gap so I do not need to purchase those pads.
  23. My only big grief with the gun is that it will not run with MG / PD 124 HP (same profile) and any lead flat point. I can live with that. At some point when the parkerized finish wears off I will get it blued as to keep the contrast between the SS controls and the rest of the gun.
  24. Curtis, I will not be there, but next time you shoot CAS shoot me an email and I will try to bring it by for you to look at. Since I am a lefty I had to add the Ambi. No choice for me. Ask anything you want I have probably spent more time with the gun than anyone, especially when it comes to loads and mags.
