  1. Mark, thanks, I skipped right over the answer "capacity restrictions" David E.
  2. You made me actually read it: So I have been told that USPSA was 8+1(9 max) but after reading this I see no limit on "capacity" and 8.1.1 says "a competitor must not be restricted on the number of rounds to be loaded or reloaded in a shotgun." So I hope to hear the answer too. David E.
  3. It depends how the rule is stated: - Shotguns cannot hold more than 9 (8+1) rounds = put a plug in the mag tube to limit capacity to 8 (+1); USPSA rule I think. - Shotguns cannot be loaded to more than 9 (8+1) rounds at any time = you can have more capacity but risk loading an extra round and taking a procedural - Shotgun cannot hold more than 9 (8+1) rounds at the start = start with 9 with the ability to load more than 9 in the gun after the buzzer. Different opinions on this but for matches that allow you to use the extra capacity you have more options such as; 1) loading shells immediately after the buzzer (if you have to take steps to the first shooting position this can be a plus) 2) Easier to count rounds; if you load in 4s, shoot 4 load 4 or shoot 8 load 8; you can be off on your shell count a round or 2 and not run the gun dry or be trying to stuff shells in a full gun. So to answer your question; you can limit the magazine capacity by installing a plug (wooden plug, plastic plug, tree limb, etc.) The "Plug" physically limits the follower from moving fully forward, most are just wooden dowels. David E.
  4. I beg your pardon, it's called "Defensive Multi-Gun"! I shoot at a local club with small/pistol bays that tries to us the DMG rules. IDPA rules are hard enough, then adding DMG rules??? We do use IDPA targets and maybe some round count limits but otherwise, not so much. David E.
  5. Just seems like a lot of people aren't following 3GN 2012 close enough to realize they are on the list for the Pro Series? Would make me think they aren't interested in being in the series? If someone wasn't following close enough to see that they are/might be in the series I would think putting up the cash/travel/time off required is not on their mind either. I still think this whole thing is awesome! Can't wait for my chance to shoot semi-pro! Without a sponsor/a few sponsors, I could see the cost being out of reach for some/many shooters. David E.
  6. I have the Miculek. I think that might be a yes. David E.
  7. I've gone through about 3500 of them in my Glock 34. I may have cleaned the barrel with a brush 1-2 times but never had any brass buildup. I guess if you have had copper deposits in the past you might have something to worry about. Barrel cleaning, at least for a Glock using jacketed bullets, is overrated. David E.
  8. It was in my mailbox when I got home from work. App in the mail! Thanks, David E.
  9. I believe registration opens on 15 feb. If it's like last year, a nice lady named Linda Chico will make the information available in advance with a practice login page. David E.
  10. Game on tomorrow! I still wonder where the "qualifier" will be. David
  11. My 3 semis Aug 08/24 - 08/26 2nd Annual AR15.com Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championships, Park City, KY Sep 09/19 - 09/22 2012 FNH USA 3 Gun, Peacemaker National Training Center, Glengary, WV Oct 10/18 - 10/21 Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun Championship, Rockcastle Shooting Center, Park City, KY 7 months to train/get ready! David E.
  12. Dan, Sorry I was gone a bit, Mark Co has the place. I had to do a bit of "research" to find the initial links. Not sure 3GN has this ready for prime time yet but the websites are on line so... Looks like 3 Semi matches for me! Mark, Saving my pennies for the load 2. David E.
  13. OK, I had to game the system, link to 3GN rules: http://3gunnation.com/pages/3-gun_nation_divisional_series http://3gunnation.com/pages/3-gun_nation_amateur_series David E.
  14. I dry-fired the registration COF last night. I'll be ready to register for PRO this year. David E.
  15. So I'm like a kid at Christmas, did the "Divisional" series rules get released on the 1st or just the "PRO" series? There is no info or working link that I can find on 3GN for the Divisional series. David E.
  16. Does anyone have the Exact data for the CM-R2 in YARDs, not meters, using 200 YARDS as a zero? I've asked Leupold twice via email for the reticle data and they just restate the m855, 2810fps, 200m zero. Right now I am using my best guess which is running the ballistics for m855 at 2810, .305 BC with a 200 YARD zero. Thanks, David E.
  17. Just looking at the 2012 3GN PRO series rules, with the short distances, fast COF, it looks like the time spent reloading a shotgun (if required) could have an even more significant impact on time/score. David E.

I hate myself right now, Ok I'm over it, now to try to win. David E.
  19. Dan, I had almost blocked this out of my mind, and you bring it up again! I think I went throught 9 in the gun and 30 or so reloads to get just a few of those birds! David
  20. Mark, I just have no skills shooting moving targets. I thought Skeet or something else might help overall. I might put together a makeshift flipper to practice with. Dan, Yes, Tom is really above my level. David
  21. Maybe they were trying to get away from the "violent content" TV rating. David E.
