I saw SIG ran one of these in February, and has one in the evening in April up in Epping. Anyone here shoot the one in Feb? I'm looking for the scoop on what to expect as the April rules are not in PractiScore yet. Generic stuff_ is a 5.11 vest good enough for "concealment"? How many rounds per stage? Will a Glock 43X fit the Compact box? Should I run my light? (changes my holster choice,etc) Is there a min power factor? I know it is PCSL modified, just not sure what that means

Two things: 1. You should put that hyperlink into your signature line- every time you post it would be there for internet challenged guys (Like me) 2. We know GM is 95% of the HHF. BUT, what % of active shooters are GMs? I guess the questions is : what percentage of current shooters are GM, (Paper, Never classed down despite age, performance decline, injury, etc. included)? and a corollary, what would that look like with your modifications to the system? Your data insights are interesting!

Accuracy- There are DAMN few tests like the 50 yard standards. There is no room for sight or trigger error at 50 yards. Yes the hosers would while like a jet turbine if we brought that back. Speed- In the early 90's, my number is 177XX, it was speed to recover between shots as much as speed of movement, at least in the area I shot. As the game has turned into a movement test that has been weighted almost too much. Power- I cant argue with what has been written- It takes work to develop the technique to manage a major limited gun, and honestly I dont have the time for that so I take the Minor penalty. USPSA today is NOT about shooting- it is about Gun handling. Moving, reloading, draws etc are not "Shooting" they are what we do to get to the shooting, and done on the clock. This will send some off the deep end- but one way re-rebalance the three parts of the DVC triad is to make it score divided by (time x 3) with Major and Minor in all divisions, except for single position speed shoots where time would be as now. The tablet could do the math for us. The net result would be to push folks to A's while minimizing the weight of speed. Fast shooting- recoil management and recovery- would be rewarded in speed shoots and movement time would be less weighted in long courses. I doubt the real top echelon would be impacted much, though I'd like to see how the other 97% of shooters stacked up. Yes I know it will never happen.

While I agree it is not the best course of action to send them to their car, DQing someone who asked for assistance, in this situation, is malfeasance and poor management as well.

Context. The response was to those saying you get DQ'd for actions in the parking lot. NOT TRUE as the parking lot is not part of the range. You could violate a club rule, but that has NOTHING to do with USPSA and a DQ. I did not skip over your comment. The fact remains the guy can do ANYTHING in the parking lot and it has NOTHING to do with USPSA rules. Period. End of DQ conversation. He can go there and solve the issue. As for Unloading Area requirements it says "should" be marked, and "Must" have a berm. Should has no requirement to it meaning not always going to be the case though preferred, and in this context "If marked then MUST have a berm" fits. If it isn't marked how can it be required to have a berm? The overall point remains- go to your car, leave your carry \ duty gun there, and come back. We all do it. What makes saying it somehow wrong? THIS! Except in the case cited by the OP the shooter was DQ'd. I wonder how Troy will answer the Question of the Month which is almost this exact scenario (as pointed out by a poster on this thread.)

Consuming alcohol will get you fired if you are carrying a duty firearm. Most states also void your ccw privileges if you have ANY alcohol in your system. My million dollar umbrella policy is also voided if I was armed and had alcohol in my system. Not worth the risk.

But you trust that same guy to run around with a loaded gun? Maybe back uprange towards you on a retreat stage? PLEASE POINT OUT THE RULE COVERING THE PARKING LOT. There is no USPSA DQ for clearing and storing actions in the parking lot. Period. As a matter of fact “car” never appears in the rule book, neither does “parking.” Anyone stretching their perceived NROI authority to the parking lot is on a power trip!

What rule covers the parking lot? If the RO thinks it is a DQ able thing, then their qualifications are suspect at best. How do I know they are safe if they think the rule is to DQ the shooter? Again, the parking lot is NOT part of the Match, and therefore NOT subject to USPSA rules. There may be club rules concerning unloading carry or duty weapons, but that is not USPSA. Again, 2.5.1 says the unloading area is AWAY from the range or part of the range set aside for USPSA event(s) and there is no mention of unloading under supervision, which means it can be done by the shooter. Sending someone away to unload and secure their duty or carry firearm in a place away from the USPSA match (the Parking lot) is in complete compliance with 2.5.1 and 2.5.2.

Rule 2.5.2 is the answer- there was no DQ. It is specifically NOT A DQ to notify a range official you have a loaded firearm. The rules are applied "During a match." The parking lot is not part of a match. 2.5.1 specifically states the unloading area is "outside the entrance to the range" where a shooter can unload on their own. Huh. The parking lot is EXACTLY THE SAME THING outside the range. Hundreds of thousands of people handle a carry \ duty gun without a range fudd looking over their shoulder daily. If I stop to get a meal and a beer \ drink I unload and secure the firearm, gasp, in the parking lot!

What is missing here is common sense- If the person had the sense to tell a match official they were armed with a loaded duty or carry gun BEFORE they did something unsafe then they need to be treated with some COMMON SENSE. The correct answer was "Go back to your car, remove the loaded weapon and store it in your car." Most matches I have attended tell people to leave their duty or carry gun in their car. IF, and that is a big IF in this case, a match official, RO etc. took the person downrange and told them to ULSC, then applied the DQ, then the RO should be DQ'd for being a Fudd. I have a hard time telling someone that following direction from a match official is DQ able. It is not about how many matches- it is about having the sense to ask an RO when you realize you have your carry gun on. If you fail to get someone to clear you out in a safe location- against the back berm perhaps- then the DQ is applied. It is VERY easy to 'forget' you have an ankle holster on assuming you wear one EVERY DAY. Would you rather I just shoot the match and say nothing, or that I ask an RO to clear me so I can bag it?

In 2004 just after nationals where Rob was second to Dave, he did some training I took. Very first thing was Rob had us all do a drill where we drew and fired a single shot as fast as we could from about 5 yards. Then he walked along, and he would ask our name, and then critique the single hole. My friend Bill says to several of us "I'm going to say I'm "Bill Sevigny" " you guys do the same. Rob gave Bill the side eye, and then next guy got the stink eye, and then it was a hoot. He was great about it and we all had a great time. Wish I could see sights like those days!

I got one with a (+) connector by accident. Called him and had the correct one on the way FAST. Stuff happens. Call him. BTW I now have 4 of his triggers and have learned to like them. Short reset and Vex trigger shoe are the biggest plusses for me. The weight I can work with, light or heavy, as long as it goes bang and doesnt unlock instead.

Need some help Just got a banshee. 5 inch barrel upper. Looking for the smart changes to make it feel a little better. Buffer type and weight? buffer spring type and weight? what else? Not a fan of the oversized ambi charging handle! Can I swap a Triggertech trigger straight in like I would for a 5.56 AR? I expect Glock factory mage to drop free,right? thanks! Tom

This. Having several different Nationals is financial foolishness. If there was a single nationals geared to optics with targets and shots that are tighter through the use of hardcover and no shoots, and a second nationals geared to Iron sights, we would instantly reduce costs (losses.) I dont care that Iron Sights could not fill it. If that is the case cut the staff and run ten stages today, and ten different ones tomorrow thus cutting staff by a half too. Next step- stop sending the entire staff to the events for the entire time. Or is fully reimbursed travel and per diem now an entitlement? Allocate slots based on performance at Area's or Majors and last year's top 15. If there were any slots left they could go to a lottery. I'm done competing at the National level- and I never got a slot in USPSA- but there are other shooting sports that don't lose money to hold their championships.....

On a whim I looked and the 124 V2s were in stock in 3600 per case so I ordered one. I also ordered a 100 pack for load testing. Cant wait to try them out.

I'm considering rescinding my membership- I know they wont refund the out years- and not bothering with anything level 2 or above. Quantico is going to PCSL too. USPSA offers the classification system that wont easily be replaced, if you want to compare performance. BUT, I can just as easily shoot a classifier and make that comparison to HF's on their app anyway.

While I agree that they modified CO to allow 140mm mags very quickly compared to the old production division adoption… You are comparing 3 or 4 months of the slow season with a full year and its cycles of shooter participation peaking in late summer. Straight comparison would be about 1200/ 1600 based on if it was sept 1 to Dec 31 or Sept 30 to Dec 31. Growth could be around 4x, up to 5.5x, and announcing in winter allowed time to gear up, train up, and make a decision. Not the case when Prod started

I believe Pro 15 will be a place the off-the-shelf guys can go and not get smashed by the "2011 staccato with a magwell crowd" as they can be in different divisions. Not everyone has a dot, outside our game anyway, and 15 round 9mm with iron sights lead sales numbers that I saw. Now if Pro 15 would go back to holsters and mag pouches behind the SIC, we would have an entry level division. Yes guys like Strader will shoot Pro15 and WAX the new guys, but at most locals they will be able to compare their skills against a similar crowd. Behind the hip holster and mag pouches means inexpensive pouches and holsters are relatively equal. Compare them to a 3 axis adjustable rig for centerline position- I bought some close to 75 each....

I grew up not far from where you are going to be. Check out the matches at Dunbarton NH. The have a level 2 every year, and the monthlies can be 100 plus shooters on 7 stages. SIG academy will be about an hour from you as well. They have steel challenge and outdoor USPSA on weekends, and some indoor USPSA as well. Berwick is a long ride, but they had the Area shoot last year. There are others, but those are what comes to mind.

Which brand are you talking about? I bought 2 universal 45 degree offset mounts for AR's, and they came with a pile of different screws and pins. The pins were in different lengths and diameters for a specific dot. Same for the screws. I'd think anything for a milled slide would be similar, but a dot reciprocating on a slide is taking more shock that one on an AR upper so the design may have to be all steel to work.
