  1. Kath, Just tape yourself from the strong side in practice. A video in live fire and dry fire so you can compare the two. Hands at sides, target at 5 yards will work. I'll do it when I get back from the Space City.
  2. TL, Yeah Lee is actually a really good friend of mine, as a matter of fact I'm staying with him during my stint in Houston. Lookin forward to shooting with him.
  3. Kath, I have an idea if you want that might help you out. I can videotape myself (or anyone else can for that matter) doing a dry fire draw at speed and a live fire draw at speed (from the strong hand side). I'm sure if you did the same and compared the two you would see exactly where you were losing time? Let me know if you're interested.
  4. I'm surprised I haven't gotten any chastisement yet.
  5. Hmm. I'll have to try this in practice. The only run I can remember is the one I quoted in a match (which ironically is the classifier that put me into GM). Are we doing any 6 hits or all A's?
  6. Yeah, for some reason I doubt he would take down all the information on his services on his website if he was going to keep doing it. Common sense?
  7. Without actually watching for it my guess would be you have the 50 yard draw syndrome.
  8. At what range? Start position? I did this at a local match classifier (2nd string of front sight) starting hands at sides in 1.7 I think. 7 or 10 yards. Open GM
  9. I think I'm gonna make it my new avatar.
  10. I just got this photo in an email. Supposably taken from the hubble telescope it is simply called The Eye of God....Awesome pic.
  11. I don't feel it changes at all. You need as many A's in Open as you do in Production to win.
  12. In point of fact...I'm starting to believe even 90% of the points isn't enough... On subject though. In my case when I am shooting I am not consciously thinking "Ok if I want to get at least 90% of the points I need to go slow here, speed up here, etc." I figure out my percentage of points at the end of the match so it has nothing to do with how I'm shooting during the match. I don't necessarily believe this translates towards accuracy but more towards visual patience and consistency. If you understand the fundamentals of shooting, you can shoot an A on any target at any time...once you can do that it is no longer a question of accuracy, but a question of seeing what you need to see to do it. I believe that the 95% of the points goal is not accuracy based....In our sport there is nothing based on only accuracy or only speed...it is both or nothing. I guess what I'm trying to say is for me, I akin the percentages of points I shoot to my focus...not my speed. In that respect I don't believe we need to slow down or speed up to hit the goal, just shoot when the damn sights say it is ok to shoot. Now I have sufficiently confused myself to where I will spend days thinking about this.
  13. Alright folks....about a week away. I'm flyin down on Friday.
  14. Hey....You aren't booting me out of my bedroom so BE can take it are ya? Yeah...I'd do the same thing. heh.
  15. And people actually ask me why I hate Michigan...
  16. I highly recommend you set another goal Q U I C K. The absolute worst times for a shooter is when they achieve a goal and don't have another one to start after right away. Bad juju.
  17. I think the most testosterone in this entire thread came from Sig Lady's last post.... (insert frightened emoticon)
  18. I'm with SingleStack.....if I saw some dude spit on a lady I would bitch slap him too.
  19. I take it off with the strong hand also.
  20. Di Vita out.... Seacrest...what a tool.
  21. Ah....I thought the 2nd fastest was 1.07 for some reason. No biggie.
  22. Once you let your sights dictate your shooting on the move, you no longer know whether one foot was on the ground, in the air, whatever. As long as the hit is there, I don't care if I'm in a full tilt boogie run.
