  1. Hard chrome won’t ever be the same after Terry Wolford passed away. He was by far and away the best. I haven’t found anyone as good. I’ve since stopped offering chrome on my custom guns as no one has delivered the quality I expect.
  2. It’s not. I believe they are making their own these days. Still should be dimensionally correct though.
  3. I’m sure the atlas extractor is still the same dimensions. They primarily build 9mm’s so I’m sure the specs are good.
  4. The 9/40 with the slot cut is a little long and the hook hits the case instead of the groove. Not a huge deal on minor guns but open guns I like them perfect. So I measure and cut the slot myself to shorten that dimension so that the hook rests in the case groove.
  5. From what I’ve been told they are not producing the 9/38sc extractor until further notice. There definitely has been issues with them lately. I’ve switched to the EGW HD without the slot cut for the firing pin stop. I like to cut my own with the proper measurements.
  6. After having many of each in my shop I have to agree with Ranger on this. I’d go atlas before infinity.
  7. You’re over thinking it. Buy one and use it. Dawson’s are excellent and so far I haven’t had any issues from the Atlas ones I’ve used on builds.
  8. I may have a cheely mount for an SRO.
  9. Always room. It’s a great way to get into the platform.
  10. It’s not a conflict of interest. I am not a competitor of MPA. My guns cost twice as much. I was just stating facts. While I obviously don’t own one I’ve had many in my shop. I’ve had many Atlas guns as well. My point was that MPA is not in the same ballpark as Atlas. It was in response to another’s comments that they were. They’re not and I’ll stand by that. They are a more price point option and it shows. I’m backed up many months in advance so “trying to take” their customers isn’t a reality. I’m plenty busy and there is enough of the pie to go around. MPA has a long way to go before they reach that “world class firearms” slogan they market. Their riffle stuff is EXCELLENT!!! The pistols aren’t there yet. That’s all I’m saying. Sorry if that hurt your feelings.
  11. Lol. I know right. I used to shoot Glocks which is how my screen name came to be. Evolution is a bitch. Lol
  12. Jim is a talented guy no doubt. I’d have this laser welded though.
  13. Lol. Correction. Donnyglock makes some of the best… there I fixed it for you. The world is upside down brother.
  14. I’ve seen very recent examples and my opinion hasn’t changed. They have great marketing and the price point is good. Im not saying they don’t have their place, they certainly do. All im saying is they when you say they are very similar… that’s where I disagree. I do this for a living and while the prices of the two you mentioned are far apart so is the overall quality.
  15. The parts quality, fit and finish is worlds better on the atlas. The MPA is a good entry level gun at its price point but has zero attention to detail.
  16. They are both 2011 style guns but the parts quality, fit and finish…etc is worlds better on the Atlas. Plain and simple.
  17. They are not the same and there’s a big difference between the two. As a builder who has handled both guns the MPA is not in the same league.
  18. I wouldn’t keep shooting it. there are a few doing accurails. Many doing laser welding and it’s pretty cheap to have done. All guns that I need to fit a new slide that have fitting issues due to smaller than I’d like frame rails I send to get laser welded. It’s unreal how accurate it is and makes re-cutting the rails a price of cake. And did I mention it’s cheap. Lol.
  19. If the frame is undersized for a new slide have it laser welded and recut it.
  20. It’s hard to say without seeing it but you should definitely be getting a smoother cut.
