  1. As an IDPA shooter, you probably have good accuracy skills built in. Now moving over to USPSA, try to look at the stages in a way that allows you to shoot to your strong suits, long range, on the move, fast up close, whatever. The name of the game is shoot as many points as fast as you can, not worrying about cover or dropping a mag. Enjoy both sports for what they are and have fun
  2. Cliff's response makes sense about the procedural for 7th or 8th shot. I say please leave revo alone
  3. Thanks, that's what I tried to do with revo, got the load done, but no extra points on the last 6 shots, next time I think I'll go for 6 alphas and forget the reload
  4. Looks like no one has shot this one yet
  5. Bob does make the best stuff for revos. I should have some of his at the local NC IDPA matches soon
  6. Wear your purple helmet next time for safety Ed
  7. Leave revo alone, we have a hard enough time getting enough shooters at a major match to have a class winner. I shoot revo in USPSA and IDPA and until we lost our local ICORE match due to VERY LOW ATTENDANCE, let me repeat, VERY LOW ATTENDANCE, the last thing we need to do is split up the few we have. I've seen some higher end revo shooters shoot in L10 and win it. As for the IDPA guys, come on over and shoot. You can shoot the SSR gun, more reload practice for IDPA and most of the shooters I've seen in SSR are accurate, so shooting minor does not hurt much, an Alpha is an Alpha
  8. My standard response to spouse or friend of a shooter watching, it's alot more fun to watch the match through the rear sight than standing back behind the line
  9. This will be an extra chance to practice for our NC State Match at Sir Walter in OCTOBER
  10. I'm IN !!!! Count on me for set up help and RO, a short brief prior to the match for the hopefully LARGE CROWD of IDPA shooters on the basic differences of the scoring and rules should help. I will pass the word and lets make this a great turnout.
  11. 2nd Sunday looks good from where I sit, still get to shoot Frank's IDPA on 1st Sunday and the fun match on 3rd Sunday, this is a great situation we have here in the Great State of NC, how to support all the great matches in the area and be able to shoot them all, now if only my Federal Outdoor Activity Fuel Subsidy Transportation Assistance And Keep It Green By Recycling Brass and Lead Refund Checks would ever get here, I could afford the gas to get to all the matches.
  12. Looks like the People are speaking Dean
  13. Sounds to me like there is a chance that the popper is not being reset the same every time. I've seen this happen more than once if the popper has been abused over time, or the ground is not stable under it, causing the angle of impact to change for each shooter
  14. Thank you, this is the feedback we need
  15. P.S., IDPA shooters are more than welcome !!!!!
  16. Talked to Dean today about USPSA at his range (Caswell Ranch). He is looking at 3rd Sunday now, which does not conflict with Sir Walter or Pitt County. We need feedback from the USPSA NC/VA shooting community as to who would shoot and if this is a good date. Dean will hold a match for us, but it must be profitable for him as a business decision to make it work. Feedback is greatly needed. The plan for now would be to hold a few matches, and if all works out, we will go ahead and get the affiliation and have classifiers sent in. PLEASE let us know if you have any interest in shooting, RO'ing, helping in any way, thanks
  17. Any one shot this yet? Really looking for revo shooters that may have shot it, how many points?
  18. Anyone else interested in some more USPSA fun?
  19. With Mr. Walsh sobbing over my shoulder, let me be the first to give congrats to Craig Buckland on yet another Carolina Cup win, now maybe the 18 pack that we just got will help forget that he lost yet another match to Bones. A serious congrats to Gary for ESR Cup win. Thanks to Frank, Paula and the entire staff for a GREAT match
  20. After the DQ, do you feel the need to rinse your eyes with bleech?
  21. My mind sees the clock running, but my eyes see the cylinder, the moonclips go into my hand by feel off my North Mountain Moon Clip Holder ( cool way to give Bob a plug)
  22. That should take care of the used market on the holders, Bob should sell plenty, his stuff is the best
  23. I was taught to look for target stands as well, sometimes you can see a stand behind a wall that blocks your view of the target from where you are and then you can move till you see that a target is attached to the sticks
  24. We have one we shoot at Rowan from time to time. Come join us in the western part of the state every once in a while. Would love to, looks like Jr and I have some work coming up soon, so we may have the extra gas $
  25. Almost forgot, dust off the Texas Star, would be great if NC Section USPSA shooters had a chance to practice with the star, so when we see them at the Level 2, 3 and 4 matches, we will have some trigger time behind them
