  1. I was saving for a S1050 when I came across a great deal on a 650. That was a no brainer at the time. Now I'm back to saving for a S1050 again, just for the swager.
  2. This may have been addressed already, so please forgive me if it has. What is the preferred mount for this scope?
  3. I've got a Mr Bullit Feeder and I love it. However, mine is an older one just before the Double Alpha, and looks the same but different from the new Double Alpha Mr. Bullit Feeder. Does anyone know if the new DA conversion kits will work with the model of Mr BF that proceeded the DA? I would like to add a .38/9mm conversion to my .40/10mm Mr. BF. I just don't know if the new collator plate will fit the older collator.
  4. Since the trim die is also a sizing die, I wouldn't resize a case that has been sized and trimmed, just to clean a flash hole. You may also find it difficult to just trim without sizing with the RT 1200 die. Here is one of several ways I do it. Size and trim with the RT 1200 on the XL 650, and use a Lyman M-die to expand the neck. When the press is set up to load, use either a Lee or Dillon depriming die in station one to either deprime, or punch out media, or just center the case in the shell holder. My preferred procedure is to tumble/clean, and lube cases. Then on the XL650 I deprime at station 1 with a Lee depriming die, at station 3 I size and trim with the RT 1200. Next I wash the brass with Simple Green and water, rinse, and bake in the oven at 250 for 30-40 minutes. When I load the cases I use a Lyman M-die at station 1 to expand the necks just enough to start the bullit, load as usual.
  5. I have the same question of sorts. I'm looking at the Blade Tech AR mag carrier, and the Safariland mag carrier. The Safariland can be tilted to different angles, but I was wondering if the Blade Tech could be tilted as well?
  6. Thanks Dillon, that worked. I rubbed the bar with 4 ought steel wool to get rid of any build up of crud and burrs, then wiped the bar and the interrior of the measure with alcohol, and it worked fine. I had to do this one other time, about 200 rds later; it almost looked like a metal filling got between the bar and measure, and hung it up. Repeated the above and it worked fine.
  7. I'm using Win.748 in .223 and having the same problem, except it just sticks for a second, then it snaps into position, and I get incosistent powder charges. It started suddenly too. Wonder if I have the same problem?
  8. I was having a similar issue. As I would lower the handle and raise the platform, about half way up it would become very stiff. I backed the primer seating punch off, and it worked fine. After reading some of the responses here, I'm starting to wonder if I did the right thing. I do know that if I screw the primer seating punch all the way in, like the instructions suggest, the platform will only rise half way, and then stop, with or without primers. I also wonder if I'm seating my primers deep enough. Any thoughts?
  9. My biggest concern is damage to the press and parts and/or premature wear. If the vibration doesn't harm the press or effect the quality of the reloads, then I can live with it. I would just hate to have to stop and repair my machine in the middle of my upcoming reloading session. I've got about 3-4,000 rounds, or more of .223 to load.
  10. I don't have the roller handle. I too have lubed everything, even cleaned, checked, and lubed the main shaft link pin, and lubed the linkage pins. No sign of galling, or being dry, it still squeaks. Observed the machine operating, and the only place and time it squeaks, is when the platform is lowering, and the cam pin, and case slide are in contact. Are there any other possibilities, or does anyone make a cam pin with a roller in the cam end?
  11. I have a similar problwm, except when I raise the handle (shell plate going down), I get the vibration. I removed the case insert slide cam, raised and lowered the handle several times, and there was no vibration. Replaced the case insert slide cam, and the vibration returned. This is my third case insert slide since I bought the press used; the last two broke apart. Seemed like the press started dragging a little, and before I could identify the problem the insert slide just broke. I don't think the vibration is coming from the link pins, but I could be wrong. Any different ideas?
  12. I just got my Mr. Bulletfeeder about a week ago, and I have already loaded a thousand 40 S&Ws. Wish my 650 and case feeder worked as reliably as the bullet feeder. With the addition of the RF 100 I can now actually load 600+ rounds an hour. I have screwed up hands and manipulating bullets to place on the case was slowing me down. Now I can concentrate on case feeding issues (old style case feeder) and various priming problems (old primer didn't pop out or primer plate didn't advance); instead of this, plus putting a bullet in the case mouth. If I ever get a 1050 it will definately have a Mr. Bulletfeeder on it. I'm glad I was able to find a link to Mr. Bulletfeeder through one of the member's here, and glad to know that RickRak2000 the owner of Mr. Bulletfeeder, is a member here. This is like having Carl Zeiss as a member of a scope forum. With all the talent here this is a great sight for competative shooters, and serious shooters. Don't mean to sound like a commercial, but you have no idea how this has helped me. Thanks for the great forum Brian.
  13. Rick how is your production going? I saw one of your feeders on GunBroker, and I was wondering if I might soon be getting an e-mail.
  14. I haven't been here a week and you guys are killing me. Waiting to order a KISS bullit feeder, and now I may have to order a 1050 and this thing. LOL Has anyone used this for rifle calibers like 223,or 308?
  15. This is my first post here, but I'm not new to reloadig. My first progressive press is a Dillon 400, and it was upgraded to a 450. I had a bunch of trouble with it after it was upgraded, so I bought the first model of the Hornady/Pacific progressive loader (the Pacific Projector I believe). It is the least used press I have. It looked good until I didn't get enough Oneshot lube on a 308 case (my fault) and the case got stuck in the sizing die. I tried to pull the case out by pulling up on the handle (figured it might work). When all of a sudden there was a big bang and the handle went loose. I had sheared off the roll pin that conects the handle linkage to the ram. Turns out, the large ram that is pushed up by the linkage is pulled down by a 1/2" bar conected to the shell plate and conected to the linkage by a 1/8" roll pin. I thought this was a major weakness of the machine, and I stopped using it. I don't know if the new machines still use this design, and I would like to try one out, but I am happy with my 650. However if the design has been changed I might be tempted to try a new Hornady.
