  1. I understand. I think IPSC should have followed the USPSA rule. I still don't understand why they did it the other way around. 8 shots per array would have made verybody happy. Single Stack shooters, 8-shot revo guys...Oh well...
  2. Damn bro! That sounds like a big deal! Get well soon I hope they just took out that visual impatience part
  3. Welcome back to the real world buddy! Was it serious surgery?
  4. I think the double pouches would have some merit in this case. But then again, one 9 shot stage/array and you're still fried
  5. Cool! Nice going CC And those old Czech guys are pretty good with a wheel gun too aren't they
  6. Vince, Merry Christmas to you too. And of course everybody at these boards. MerryChristmas y'all!
  7. Good point. Maybe it should be a standard procedure to check holster and pounch position etc. (the things you can easily see) on line every time. Like something you teach new RO's: "when the next shooter moves to the start position, take a look at his equipment" (BTW, this is not "prison lingo")

    Cancer

I'm very sorry to hear that Scooter
  9. Thanks for the reminders guys
  10. Pictures would definately help, especially for beginning shooters. Also, I think the equipment check should have the unpredictable character of the chrono. If you know you're getting checked before every stage, you can easily cheat it. It would be more effective if the RO checked the shooter right after the run for instance.
  11. Yeah I know McO. Next training I'll have a cam set up at the range (I never do that stuff, so I'll have to ask a shooting buddy ) Dalmas, wanna bet? I feel leike I have to take on Eric G. in a shoot-off man
  12. So I have to say something nice about the EC2004 before I can say something that wasn't right in my opinion? Come on Vince.... Maybe we could do something useful with the information about the equipment check and make the EC2007 even better. That's what I believe in here. If we can't criticize things like this anymore, than how do you expect improvement? And after meeting Dalmas a couple of times, I doubt he's in for "a good beating of the people who 'messed up' the equipment check" He's one of the most laid back guys I know of in this game (or any game for that matter ) So...how can we improve on the equipment check ina any match? What are the key elements of a succesful equipment check? And the thread goes on...
  13. Well, at least for matches, I'd switch to copper plated or something. Check out inexpensive brands like Frontier or Berry's. They're fast on the reloads and cost about as much as the lead stuff.
  14. Cool, my parents probably got that for me because of my Swedish name. Yeah, what you say about the World Shoot makes sense. Maybe I'm just to much of a chicken shit to finally shoot against the Big Guy...
  15. I like the results so far. Seems like people want to shoot at something different from what they shoot at home
  16. Vince, Flex is right. These are not allegations. Nor are they serious charges. It is just a fact that some (just a few) competitors didn't follow the rules. How seriously you take that is up to you. I personally don't care that much. Feel free to involve the RM and ARM, but all you can do is ask them why the rules were not enforced. If they know the answer to that question, then you will have the solution to the problem.
  17. Sounds good Roger! But doesn't the lead foul your revolver? After 3 clips of lead ammo, I can't reload it anymore
  18. 2002, Cullen, JFD, Ray Tux and John Rodriguez! Happy Birthday!!!!!! 5 members celebrating their BDay! Is that a record?
  19. The equipment check was not effective. Kind of strange for a Level IV match. That's the point. I know I have the right to lodge an appeal. That's not the point. Call me silly, but I'd rather mind my own shooting/match/game than checking other competitors equipment. Plus, I don't shoot Standard and I only got to see 50% of the shooters during the match (because of the morning/afternoon-program). All I can do is conclude that if someone enters the Shoot-off like that (and from the things I've seen at the equipment check), the whole equipment check there was a joke. And again, at a Level IV? The guy with the grip tape on the slide and the extended Beretta 92 mags went through the big dedicated official equipment check like that. And he shot the 28 stages after that with the same equipment. There was a check at every stage. My presumption is that the RO's didn't see/know, and the competitors didn't bother. Anyways, it's not a rant in your direction Vince. All I'm saying is that I understand Mats. You can have the best rules in the world. But as long as they're just on paper and they're not followed by some, the rule only exists to the obedient nice guys.
  20. Dalmas. I hear you. The 29(!!!) equipment checks were (to say the least) not very effective. I've seen a guy with extended mags and grip tape on the slide pass the major equipment check for Production division. So Vince, what's next? I have to yell stop if a competitor breaks the 180 and the RO failed to see it? It's the duty of the competitor to comply with the rules and the duty of the RO's, guys at the equipment check and the RM to deal with the guys that do not comply. What pisses me off is that the picture was taken at the shoot-off. Little changes like that DO make a difference there. Plus that also makes it seem intentional. The intentional part pisses me off. Normally I would tell an unaware shooter that his equipment is not OK so he can change it before the RO sees it. But in this case, I might have gone to see the RO/RM etc.
  21. Ain't that a b!tch Ron, I wouldn't care less what others think. You are a 5 division master, for crying out loud! You are a great shooter and you deserve a GM card in at least one division! Just because you can do speed shoots (even) better than field courses doesn't mean you are not worthy. Just go out there and kicks some ass!
  22. Thanks gal 'n guys! Dalmas, about that mission thing: I guess the next World Shoot was my mission, but lately I have been doubting about going. The match would cost me about $5000. There's a lot of good stuff you can do for that (like buying a 1050 and a new revolver) Maybe I'll attend the US Nationals instead. Sounds like a lot more fun at about half the cost BTW, that new avatar of yours, what is that? If I remember correctly, my parent got me that for my very first birthday.
  23. Shooting Pin loads for a week and then switching back to 165 PF a couple of days before the USPSA match seems like a good trick to feel comfortable with recoil
  24. Steve, thanks! I reload the "german way" (at least that's what I heard people call it). I just keep the gun in my strong hand, pop the cylinder open with my weak hand and grab the new clip with the weak hand. (I tried a search because I know I have a thread about it somewhere, but no luck). It's the "not-Jerry" way. Now if I could just make my splits suck a little less...
