  1. Just had a thought, should probably add wearing hearing protection as a precaution. I haven't had a kaboom yet but can't image the sound of it in an indoors area.

  3. +1 If you are going to load 1 caliber or load a large quantity of 1 caliber to have a surplus of loaded ammo before switching caliber a go with the 650 due to its faster rate. If you want to switch between a quantity of different calibers and just load what you need go with he 550 due to the ease of caliber changes.
  4. Glad to hear you were not hurt. This drives home the need to ALWAYS wear safety glasses.
  5. I would start loading the 9mm due to the fact the you shoot almost three time as much of it. If you are going to be loading both 9mm and 45acp on a regular basis I would reconsider the 650 in favor of a 550 press due to the ease of caliber changes.
  6. Monthly USPSA or Steel Challenge $20.00 Those that setup and breakdown shoot for FREE
  7. If this is what the Guns America rules are I would contact Guns America and make them aware he is not willing to honor the price he had listed. They might make him honor he price of he ever wants to list another item on that site again. If I'm correct these postings are legal contracts.
  8. No Problem. Glad I could help. If you wern't already aware there is also a Gallery for .22 conversions. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=137812
  9. In your price range I would suggest either a Browning Citori or Beretta 682. You will want a break open gun picking up shells from an auto gets old really fast. Which ever you buy get a 12 Ga. 28” barrels are normal in skeet and 30”-34” in trap. So 30” might be a good length for both sports depending on your stature. I would highly recommend finding one with an adjustable comb. Generally you would set-up a skeet or sporting clays gun to shoot 50/50 POI @ 21 yds and trap 70/30 POI @ 30 yds. With the adjustable comb once you determine the appropriate spacers needed to achieve the correct pattern you can swap spacer based on which game you were going to shoot. If you were going to get a auto I would recommend a Remington 1100 and get 2 barrels (1) 30" step rib trap barrel and (2) about 28" barrel with screw in chokes to use for skeet or sporting clays. For the 1100 you can find aftermarket adjustable comb stocks which would be best or you would need to deal with comb pads to get the proper POI.
  10. you can see .22 steel guns the The Gallary. There is a post on it. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83756
  11. Model 41 is a great gun, very accurate. Plus if you ever choose or shoot bullseye you'd could use it for that too. Their is nothing better in the price range and they hold their value.
  12. I generally read this forum from my iPhone 4 on the mobile site. I don’t see an option to search the forum. Can it not be done from the mobile site?
  13. In searching some old treads on the forum for information on setting up a S&W Model 41 for Steel Challenge I read about Bully Barrels. In some of the old posts I saw comments that Ray of Bully Barrels retired and was no longer producing barrels. There was discussion of another company (unnamed) who planned on producing more. I tried looking on the internet and couldn't find anything. Is there still any discussion on these barrels being produced again or any estimate as to when?
  14. Although it was a lot of money to cough up my first press was a 650.

    Trap Gun

With the arthritis the the 1100 would be a lot softer recoil. You should get a shell catcher so your not ejecting shells at the guy standing on your right. Yu can get a lot more info at either: http://www.trapshooters.com/ Or http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/

  17. Which one is more reliable and accuate the SureFire or IPSC?
  18. If I was going to do it I would use Duracoat.
  19. I’m looking to buy a red dot to put on my S&W 41. I want to use the sight for both bullseye and steel challenge. I realize that the tube style is better for bullseye and reflex are better for steel challenge. However due to budget I can only buy one decent sight like a C-More railway or Ultradot Matchdot. Which red dot would you recommend? Also, my factory barrel is not drilled/tapped so I’m thinking of trying a BME mount which replaces the rear sight. Has anyone tried one of these and how did it work?
