  1. The newest member of the Littman family

This is the gun that arrived the day before we left for the nationals, got built in less than a week by LIMCAT, with parts bought and sent from SHOOTERS CONNECTION and ran flawlessly, at the Nationals, in 110+ degree heat, with blowing dust from golf carts.

And the mags (29 rounds +1 wooohoooo!) tuned by Beven GRAMS of course, also worked flawlessly in this brand new gun. Any questions?!?

  2. My family really ENJOYS reading the interim results - I've taught them all the scoring system, they are truly involved in my sport and proud of me, but they can't make it to watch me. I want them to be able to see how I"m doing without feeling guilty for giving out a password! :P

  3. Hi Honey - I'm Hooooome :)

Holy crap you guys - if anybody EVER invites you to Illinois in July, politely decline!!!!! I've been in hot before, but I have never ever had to worry more about my health than my shooting before!

The Ladies squad was an interesting experience. Julie G is such a motivator! She was totally awesome to shoot with!

I'm sorry I wasn't able to send updates - I had planned to, but ended up with two problems, first, my hotel rooms internet connection didn't work and second the damned heat zapped my strength! By the time we finished dinner and got to our room, it was after 10:00pm.

I met SO many BE'ers for the first time! I can't believe how many lurkers there are - ya'll need to come on in and play some :)

I'll post more about my performance in the skills and techniques thread. Unfortunately, I had the best match of my life, with the exception of one stage that really trashed my overall standings.

Next year - MAGIC is gonna have to look our for me :)

  4. I have mixed emotions - I'm super duper happy that these guys are STILL on top, but I was really really hoping that Smitty or Dummy would overtake TGO this year. Not to be! I believe that IS why we call him THE GREAT ONE

I do find it funny that no one expected anyone BUT Dave to win production. Did y'all notice the points and percentage difference there in production - holy cow!!!! That boy rocks!

  5. Duuuude, YOU ROCK :)

See if you can get the low powder charge idea to work out (I don't think you're gonna be able to duplicate it!)

We use 115gr Zero JHP's with N350, small rifle primers and new starline brass. I'm deliberately leaving out the powder measure! Start at 4gr I guess and work your way down from there. That's about half of what the standard is for 38 super.

We visually check every case for powder, and are so anal about it, we toss the ones that we think we didn't look at! I can image 1 or 2 grains low, but not much more than that!

But instant detonation is exactly the best way to describe what happened. With the exception that the bullet left the barrel and hit the target - no obstructions at all.

  6. The patent number, clearly visible in one of the shots thanks to some really incredible close up photography (what camera?),

Believe it or not, it's just a Sony Cybershot Model No. DSC-100 5.1 Megapixels. It's got a few *cool* features that the other models didn't offer. Zeiss Lens, Variable zoom, different close up settings and you can manually set f/stops.

  7. Lemme have a chat with her and I'll convince that she needs to KEEP that new gun for herself - lemme tell ya, that's TRUE LOVE! When a man orders a new gun and then decides it's better off with his wife

  8. I was seriously hoping you all would be able to tell what caused it :)

The frame and mount went to Johnny to use in the new gun, IF he can straighten them. The C-More is getting rebuilt (not for free Rick!) We do still have the barrel, but who would you send it to? This particular barrel manufacturer is well known for never admitting to errors in their process. If I was still in the Bay Area I coulda asked Failure Analysis Associates to look at it :)

Lynn really has the right of it, I don't think we'll ever get a definitive answer. I know that it wasn't our reloading process and that's all that really matters at this point.

I do have to say though, that every single person I've talked to has been GREAT in helping me get parts together so that I have a gun for the Nationals! There really has been no finger pointing or blaming, just a real pulling together to "get 'er done". Makes me really damned proud to be a shooter!

  9. I was wondering about Athena and Doni and Julie too! Do you know what's up with them?

Sharyn - of course it's an honor and "making" it to the Super Squad has been my number one goal since I went to my first nationals way back in 1998. Normally, lesser known lady shooters, such as myself, don't get included unless we win an Area Match. I'd sure like to know what criteria they used to make their selections this year cause the only Area match I shot was 6 and I sure as hell didn't win it :)
