  1. US 10.1.4.8 adds

"The exception to this is for disappearing targets, for which there are no miss penalties or failure to shoot at penalties."

Just wanted to make sure the US shooters knew that Vince's interpretation does not apply :-)

  2. You don't need to mention grrls Chriss - that show is definitely a "Guy Thing".  I absolutely hated it and think it's the stupidest show ever created (and that's generally all grrl's opinions when asked :)

  3. Turkeys will thaw in the morning, then warm in the oven to an afternoon high near 190F. The kitchen will turn hot and humid, and if you bother the cook, be ready for a severe squall or cold shoulder.

During the late afternoon and evening, the cold front of a knife will slice through the turkey, causing an accumulation of one to two inches on plates.  Mashed potatoes will drift across one side while cranberry sauce creates slippery spots on the other. Please pass the gravy.

A weight watch and indigestion warning have been issued for the entire area, with increased stuffiness around the beltway. During the evening, the turkey will diminish and taper off to leftovers, dropping to a low of 34F in the

    refrigerator.

Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, high pressure to eat sandwiches will be established. Flurries of leftovers can be expected both days with a 50 percent chance of scattered soup late in the day. We expect a warming trend where soup develops. By early next week, eating pressure will be low as the only wish left will be the bone.

  4. Kelly,

While the Buchanan bags are awesome, I've heard absolute horror stories about their service (and resulting customer service.)  And these stories have come from more than 1 person (I can name 6 of them off the top of my head!)  4 of these shooters had to threaten with a lawsuit after waiting for more than a year to receive their merchandise...

For custom bags, Hafner is the only way to go, but be prepared to pay - however, in the world of "you get what you pay for" - you really do get an outstanding product from these folks.

Kyle, Chuck is an AWESOME supporter of matches - you'll probably be able to pick one up sooner rather than later :-)

  5. To clarify....

Limited 10 was started as a division because magazines that hold more than 10 rounds are unobtainable in several states.  This division is a place for those that HAVE Limited guns but can't get high cap mags.  The belief here is that eventually Limited will all be converted to L10.

Production Division is the place for your off the shelf start cheaply shooters.

  6. Thanks for all the observations guys.  I'm getting the G34 for sure!  Deciding point was the snappiness comparison Erik made to my Super - that's what I like - dogginess is not for me :-)

  7. Quote: from Erik Warren - I found 147 gr bullets softer in the various 9mm Glocks I've shot. I generally run them around 900 fps.

Softer than other 9mm's or softer than the Glock 40's?  SS swears I oughta get a .40 for production... I'm thinking 9mm loaded to minor is going to be easier for me to handle with less felt recoil...

  8. SS,

Trade the 17 for a 34.  I've heard (haven't shot a 34 yet - mine's still on order) that the longer slide, better sights and better trigger make all the difference - we'll see!

  9. Here's what I got back from Amidon and Voigt:

"put your gear on, stand in front of a mirror sideways

and if it looks like the holster is towards the front,

    move it back."

    and

"The USPSA rules use center of the body as a reference. IPSC rules the forward point of the hip bone. The seam of the pants is usually a good indicator, but there are pants without an outside seam and other variations

of clothes design and body builds that we can't address."

So - i was confusing the 2 rules!  Looks like USPSA is enforcing behind the center of the BODY, rather than behind the center of the hip bone.

  10. I'm glad you clarified the side seam - they were flat out wrong :-)  I'm going to fire off an email and get clarification on this - I was told something different by Voigt but Amidon may have made a ruling to make the rule enforceable.  I've told all the local shooters to move their equipment forward - so that the back of the holster is about an inch from the side seam.  As that is truly behind the center of your hip bone!  (Hips are in the front, Gluteous (sp) is the side and back :-))

  11. BamBam - got your point too!  I do much better with one thought at a time :-)

If you give me a list, you leave it up to me to decide what is the most important one, and I'm usually wrong!  And I get bored before I get to all the points if the list is too long - there, more than any of you ever wanted to know!

  12. Over on that "unmentionable" list, they're currently discussing RO's not assisting a shooter before the COF.  Specifically starting them without eye's, ears, gun loaded, other stuff like that - but the RO definitely knowing that the shooter is NOT READY.

I've always thought that it is OUR job to assist as well as maintain safety - what do you all believe/feel/think about this?
