HI :-0

Here's a couple of my thoughts:
1. This doesn't happen all that often folks!!! For me personally, it has happened ONCE, and NEITHER the RO nor I saw it, it was pointed out by another shooter after all was said and done.
2. And usually it happens that NEITHER the shooter, nor the RO see the penalty hit... it's usually pointed out by spectators after the fact.
2. Each stage and RO is a different situation - we are all rational adults with logical minds... a club situation with a new RO won't be handled the same as the "BigTime".
I also did a quick read through of the USPSA Rulebook and it states that the RO is responsible for ensuring that the stage is scored and that the scoresheet is correct. At no time does the onus for scoring ever fall upon the shooter.

Power Road is the one that goes to the range - anything East of Greenfield and North of Hwy 60 is close to the range.
Main street in the East part of Mesa and Apache Junction can be real spotty - Erik, I'd get the cross street, if it's East of Sossaman, I'd reconsider staying there.

Quote:I used to call Kathy the Queen of the Immaculate Double. I've scored a miss on more than one target of hers where she argued a double.
And boy can Erik and I argue :-) You'll notice he said "Used to"... I really did believe most of those were doubles, not all mind you, some were just to pick on Erik and my husband when they RO me! I know better now that I can actually call my misses! (IF you call your shots, then you call your misses too, right?)
Ron, in all cases, I'd hand back the extra money - without thought. And i would never ever tell someone I gave him a ten when I gave him a five. It's just the right thing to do... so there you have it, I have extremely high morals and ethics. I DO NOT CHEAT!
However, let's make this perfectly clear, I do not believe that it is cheating when the RO misses a call and I don't point it out to him. This scenario is simply using the human advantage in a game we play with other humans.

We did this one at the Charity Classic 2 weeks ago..
56 points in 8.68 secs for a 6.4516 hf.

GMyers,
Actually, the thoughts posted here today are usually found in new shooters. I felt this way once, until I LOST due to a "scoring error", by 8 points.
I believe given enough time to play and learn in the sport, most shooters come to the conclusion that while most of the competition rests on your shooting abilities, a portion of it IS OUT OF YOUR CONTROL and relies on other people. The RO's miss no shoots, or faults, or forget to record the time... the scorekeeper enters a miss or no-shoot as a D... the match director misses your name and awards your plaque to someone else... these all happen, without malice, but they do greatly affect your attitude towards how you play the game.

Is the other one easier?
Yup - they start you out slower and it takes longer to get to the fast pop ups. But I got my high score on the major carnage :-)
And yeah Brian, that slurpie is pretty cool - I've been craving one all week!

$119 is too much for a motel in that area. /quote] Actually, $119 is not bad for this time of year in the Mesa/Phoenix area. They're normal rates for off season are around $69 and on season is about $89 to $159 depending on the quality of the place.
I don't remember the names of the major cross streets

Quote: from Erik Warren - Heyyyyy, topping one gun category of one division at the 3 Gun Nationals does not count as a "National Championship."
Cause if it did, we'd be calling Mr. Warren "Limited Pistol Champion of 2001" :-)
-
It's definitely Bill's! He had 14 before I did - my first one was for 13 - I forgot this years Limiteds.
-
It's a BILL drill :-)
Couldn't resist that guys.
Both Bills, thanks for the info - and GOOD LUCK! Please do let us know all the good gossip when you return.

I've heard rumblings of the IDPA Nationals coming up soon. Can someone tell me when they are, where they are, who the top contenders are and any other good stuff you know about this event?
-
Robbie Leatham - 14 total wins.
3 World Championhips
11 National Championships
(I forgot this year in my first post - OOPS!)

Hey,
You guys are playing this on the harder level right?
-
Playing the game is not being a weasel. Escaping with a no-shoot, getting a reshoot or any other things that may happen are all just part of the game.
And if I believe I shot a double, you better believe I'm going to make you prove that I didn't.

IT'S OCTOBER - WOOOHOOOOO 0/
Can we have a kinder gentler question please :-)
(And the answer to this monster!)

Best Western Superstition Springs is the closest to the range. When I called them last week, they only had smoking rooms left, but discounted them 10% for me :-)
-
Kyle,
You've just mentioned my #1 BEEF about USPSA :-) I won't go into that here, read my Hate post!
-
Too funny! There wasn't even any USPSA rules questions, I had Brian snag one out of another forum and move it here to get it kickstarted :-)
-
Yup - I REALLY read them. All of it, multiple times. It is my personal belief that in order to play the game by the rules, you must know the rules. Never ever rely on someone elses "opinion" and always stand up for what you know is right.
-
Hi y'all,
What do all these acronymns stand for? My best guess is that they are some sort of classes or divisions - could someone take a moment and break them down for me?
Also, is there and IDPA website with rules and contacts and good stuff like that?

She shoots and she scores :-)

Ummm - back to prize tables (but i'm getting to the short person's remarks)
I think the raffle system has some merit for certain types of local matches only. In most cases, I can always use more tee shirts in bright green :-)

Hey SingleStack...
I just scored 69000 :-)
A bit of silliness for a sad time

Every U down in Uville liked U.S. a lot,
But the Binch, who lived Far East of Uville, did not.
The Binch hated U.S.! The whole U.S. way!
Now don't ask me why, for nobody can say,
It could be his turban was screwed on too tight.
Or the sun from the desert had beaten too bright
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.
But, Whatever the reason, his heart or his turban,
He stood facing Uville, the part that was urban.
"They're doing their business," he snarled from his perch.
"They're raising their families! They're going to church!
They're leading the world, and their empire is thriving,
I MUST keep the S's and U's from surviving!"
Tomorrow, he knew, all the U's and the S's,
Would put on their pants and their shirts and their dresses,
They'd go to their offices, playgrounds and schools,
And abide by their U and S values and rules.
And then they'd do something he liked least of all,
Every U down in U-ville, the tall and the small,
Would stand all united, each U and each S,
And they'd sing Uville's anthem, "God bless us! God bless!"
All around their Twin Towers of Uville, they'd stand,
and their voices would drown every sound in the land.
"I must stop that singing," Binch said with a smirk,
And he had an idea--an idea that might work!
The Binch stole some U airplanes in U morning hours,
And crashed them right into the Uville Twin Towers.
"They'll wake to disaster!" he snickered, so sour,
"And how can they sing when they can't find a tower?"
The Binch cocked his ear as they woke from their sleeping,
All set to enjoy their U-wailing and weeping,
Instead he heard something that started quite low,
And it built up quite slow, but it started to grow--
And the Binch heard the most unpredictable thing...
And he couldn't believe it--they started to sing!
He stared down at U-ville, not trusting his eyes,
What he saw was a shocking, disgusting surprise!
Every U down in U-ville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any towers at all!
He HADN'T stopped U-Ville from singing! It sung!
For down deep in the hearts of the old and the young,
Those Twin Towers were standing, called Hope and called Pride,
And you can't smash the towers we hold deep inside.
So we circle the sites where our heroes did fall,
With a hand in each hand of the tall and the small,
And we mourn for our losses while knowing we'll cope,
For we still have inside that U-Pride and U-Hope.
For America means a bit more than tall towers,
It means more than wealth or political powers,
It's more than our enemies ever could guess,
So may God bless America! Bless us! God bless!
