What is the trick to this damn classifier??? I consistently shoot this in the 30% range... any tips or tricks I need to know about?

Hmmm - I'm thinking, yeah, he's right as I glanced at my coffee cup - with a nice layer of brown stain inside of it :-)
My excuse is that I haven't USED it since last Friday!

Byron,
Please see the following thread:

Lots of EXCELLENT insight and information about various springs for magazines.

Buy the Mark IV. If you don't, you'll soon wish you did.......and that leads to you spending the money twice! Ask me how I know......
Nik is absolutely 100% right! I just bought the MKIV from our host and it's the best money I've spent!

I knew this was going to happen when all those flags got put on cars in September... here we are in December, and I saw 5 flags with shredded ends flying from antennas in the mile it took me to go to work this morning.
While I find these people's suddenly newfound patriotism admirable, I really really really wish they had bothered to LEARN about the proper way to care for and treat our Country's Flag.
(I'm really glad BE has this place for me to vent this stuff, thanks Brian!)

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
Wow - I'm impressed a dude knew this one. According to the DH, this is a chick move :-)

Hi Ron,
My opinion is: shoot in Limited with your S_I - shoot at your current ability ALWAYS and quit worrying about winning, or being fair, or how to play the game!
The only real competition in this sport is yourself - if you're on and you win, GREAT, if you're on and you don't win, GREAT - the point being YOU :-)
On a side not - you REALLY should turn in some L10 classifiers that reflect your current ability.
-
Yeah Erik, my comp and my hair - you missed the carpet shredding :-) NOTE TO SELF: Stand away from barricades and ports with top covers while shooting a flame thrower!!!!!! And I DID shoot a clean match too!
Nik - i had an awesome time! I LOVE this sport and was having serious withdrawals. There's just SO much fun about what we do and the people we hang out with!
I am healthy again, thank you!

Hmmm - this may be pushing the line, but damn :-) And he pointed it out, i never woulda thunk it by myself! Thankfully, Erik was able to pull the rest of the stages together (mostly) and he ended up 2nd in the match - a FEW competitors ahead of me (okay ALOT ahead of me!)
I also accomplished the goals I set for myself for the day (this is the real post now . After taking a few months off, my goals were simple 1) FIND all the targets and 2) HIT all the targets. I did that so so okay - my form and technique were way off - found myself doing stupid things - leaning back instead of forward, not bending my knees - you know, that kind of stuff :-) It's amazing how much by brain retained naturally, and how much is obviously stuff I have to THINK about!

Hi guys,
I'm surprised by this answer! If it was me, I'd be real tempted to use the gun and then arb it IF the subject came up.
Or... buy a different replacement barrel - there must be good barrels that don't extend, right?
-
Dang.... Non-technical li'l ole me understood that - AWESOME job BE, I'm truly impressed!

Our local club lists the IPSC and USPSA sites as references for rules, as well as this website:

I'd say that yes, it's okay. Replacement barrels are specifically allowed!
Not sure why the external mods was even brought up, it's not external :-)
-
Ummm - I can't remember, it's been over 2 years since I had mine done!
You're best bet is to contact him directly. His website is at http://www.gramseng.com

I've told y'all about a gazillion times, I'm NOT technical :-)
But I believe, as Brian does, that he does have them made by someone. I KNOW they are a "heavier" diameter than what Wolff sells to the public.
But MOST importantly, I KNOW they work! I went through "mag hell" for a year, finally sent them to Grams and I haven't had problems since.

For a place that's supposed to have "nice" weather, it's been damned wet around here lately!
So I haven't been shooting... in OVER A MONTH. I'm having serious lead withdrawals :-)
I also miss my friends.
-
I hate to sound like a broken record, but Grams Engineering is the ONLY place to buy magazine springs!
-
OH OH OH - Pat, I can't really wish bad on somebody, but if I could, I would, for you :-)
-
No spoiling here! This is just AWESOME!!!! You will have the whole enosverse rooting you on :-)
And of course, the others all deserve congratulations as well - it's nice to see some "new blood" on the list this year!

Our very own Travis T was selected to represent the US at the World Shoot next year!!!
I don't know about you guys, but I find this really exciting :-)
So Travis, tell us how you feel!
EDIT: Travis' name is no longer on the list... wtf????

Our USPSA Board of Directors asked for and received approval to use our own rulebook. You can browse the minutes of the meetings leading up to the General Assembly in Quincy last year to try to discern the reasoning. It's long and convuluted!
