  1. The wording seems to make it pretty clear - I don't think the factory condition included a hair dryer :-)

However, my specialty is the USPSA rules, so I think it will be very interesting to see what the IDPA gurus say!

  2. I remember those RO's well!  First, they wanted to give everybody on the squad a procedural for playing with the timer, then they started David on the stage with an empty weapon - someone should point out to these idjots that it's their job to ASSIST the shooter, not "get them"!!!!

Since you guys pretty much have all the other toys, I guess this will be dedicated to prod, class only

    Pat,

Almost... it's for Production class - but I'm also planning on tinkering in IDPA with it - I've been told that our production rigs work well "over there" too :-)

  4. I hate not being able to shoot, but I'm so into the damned sport that I tag along and watch, which frustrates me more that I can't shoot.

And then I have to answer all the well meaning friends questions of why I'm not shooting which just frustrates me more because I can't shoot.

And then I have to answer all the questions about why I didn't just stay home, how could I come out and watch.... grrrrrrr :-)

Next week, I'll be shooting again dammit!

(I'm not shooting this week because I've been ill for 2 weeks and just don't have my strength back yet - a short walk to the mailbox drains me still!)

  5. Hi y'all,

I'm getting ready to order David's new glock for him.  Which one should I get to shoot in production division?

I'm leaning towards the .9 for less recoil, and because they're all scored in minor - but I thought I read that a .40 loaded light would have less recoil.  It's definitely going to be either a G34 or G35 :-)

    So what's the scoop?

  6. Hi Patrick,

The people that are no longer around all had family issues that prevented them from returning - divorces mostly.  There was one guy with major burnout - he's still not back after 4 years!

As for the clubs that you don't want to go back to, that one I CAN answer honestly and from first hand experience :-)

It's the Politics!  The maneuvering, posturing and ego's are atrocious at local clubs.  The Old Timers get special treatment and it's obvious to newbies.

Also, the cliques are so bad, newbies tend to be treated real nicely their first couple of matches, but after about 4 to 6 months, when people know who they are, they're really left to their own devices.  And it's extremely difficult to break into the cliques!

There are clubs I prefer not to return to anymore - those clubs don't provide scoring at the match, put up the same stages week after week and are facing burnout in their upper echelons, which really affects the shooting.

I also believe that the shooters that stay are addicted to the adrenaline rush - and some people just aren't wired that way!   I mean if you're hooked, you shoot no matter what, right :-)

  7. Ahhh - finally something I'm an expert at :-)

Brian, every one of my computers has an ergonomic keyboard.  The last one I bought was at officedepot.com for $49.95!  (The first one was $129.95)It's well worth the money no matter what price you get it at!!!!!

Second, track balls are the way to go, but the trick is to NOT rest your hand at all, you're supposed to use the whole arm and hand to roll that sucker, not just your fingers - same thing with a mouse!  If you can find a way to rest your elbows, then you'll decrease the pain.
