  1. So, JP will make extended length handguards?
  2. I bought a Tac-Force DTS case. It does a great job with both guns (20" AR and 19.5" Benelli w/ tube). Well under $100.
  3. I don't think I've seen every second of Matt's vids on the net, but I do think that it is the first time I've seen him do the one shot. Interesting. If he ever gets back to doing radio shows, I think it would be one helluva topic for him, Pat Kelly, and Taran to debate or discuss. Also, was there a condition in the stage description that made him shoot that way. (as I was typing this, then I looked and found this)
  4. I think Rhino, latewatch, and Angus Hobdel would be hilarious for part of a cast. Rhino would get voted out first, but that 40 minutes would be absolute hilarity.
  5. I shot 3D archery for a while before I started shooting USPSA. I thought competition archery with a time element would be a hoot.
  6. I think Jake's Paleo diet is de-evolving him into a caveman. The joke was hilarious. Distasteful and over the line? Yes. But, that's what made it funny. I really don't get all of this Brad-bashing (or anyone else for that matter). If he, or anyone else, wasn't bellyaching this show would be boring.
  7. First track released El Dorado from The Final Frontier
  8. It was a LPK, not a rifle.
  9. I've sold a number of their LPKs in the past couple of years. I ran into a batch that was missing a disconnector. Called them up, gave them an address. They shipped the part, no questions asked, the same day direct to my customer. Their service is great.
  10. It's going to be cheesy and a ton of fun (I think).
  11. I know of a certain Kiwi who shot a gun setup very similarly to TGOs...in 2006. I might even be able find a pic somwhere.
  12. My barber has been doing straight razor shaves for 35 years. She (yes, she) would go down to the docks and shave homeless guy's faces when she was an apprentice in NYC. She says there's nothing like it and I might take here up on it the next time I'm in there. Barbers rule.
  13. How did it end up in Metallic? And...1900 with a production gun? My first thought is there's a way to drive innovation. Hmmm...Glock 34 Match anyone? Anyone?
  14. And bumblebees and bats aren't supposed to be able to fly either...at least based on the most common principles of aerodynamics and physics. But they, of course, do. Jake, what I was driving at with the transitions and muscle memory comment is that in terms of the shooting challenge - your position relative to the first target, from one target to the next, the target size, etc. are all well known. Doug, JJ, Max, TGO, BE, Jet, and all other past champion spent hours building, among other things, a lot of muscle memory what is specific to those courses. When you don't have to think much or at all consciously about what its going to take to get from one target to the next, you probably spend a lot more of your energy on things like vision and shot calling. Just SWAG on my part, but I really don't think I'm too far off in left field here, either. The top guns take two when they could take one, and they are doing it for a reason. (speaking of which, is there ANY of the top shooters who take a lot of single A-shots? who?) And, it's hard to argue with the results. I agree it flies in the face of "...it doesn't take any longer...", but it is happening.
  15. This is what I'm trying to get at. The people who are winning multi gun under the 1a/2anywhere=neutralized rules are some of the very same people who win IDPA, USPSA, and Steel Challenge national and world titles - specifically Butler, Horner, Voigt, Miculek (among others). In the pistol games where two shots are required on all targets (standards and classifiers notwithstanding), if you'd ask I'll bet they all say that they have clear sight pictures on 99% of their shots and 95%+ of those are A hits or down-0 hits. But why does that change when the scoring changes to 1A/2anywhere. And, when it does change, why are all of the top guns making two shots (and getting hits) when they could make one? FWIW - I think the Steel Challenge comparison has some bunk to it. That, like Bianchi, has little to no variation in target size, location, or presentation. Not to mention the lack of body movement. Multi gun (and USPSA/IDPA matches) is the opposite. With SC and Bianchi, there is a great deal of muscle memory that comes into play that doesn't or can't in multi gun. You know because of hours of practice that the transition from plate 1 to plate 2 on Roundabout is just a certain way. It is similar in the other action shooting sports, but not nearly as refined.
  16. That's why I posted the question here, Jake.
  17. True. But, if we're looking at the people who win as empirical evidence, they seem to have a reason for putting two on every target under IMGA scoring when a single A is as good as two anywhere in the scoring area.
  18. Good question. It seems to come down to which is faster: (1) calling an A hit, or (2) making two shots that hit brown? It seems like (2) would be the safest option with IMGA scoring because if your vision/shot calling is slightly off with (1), it costs at least 5 seconds.
  19. I was wondering what the experienced crowd does here with respect to IMGA target neutralization. For example, on pistol targets, say inside 12 yds, do you shoot deliberately shoot one A. Or do you put two on it as fast as you can and move on? Same for rifle. I really don't what what would be faster, for me. I'll need to set this up during my next practice to see if there is any advantage. It seems like being deliberate about getting that one A would be slower, but maybe that's just me mind playing tricks? Thoughts?
  20. Ok. Maybe it does make sense. Its just when I see desert and mountains, I don't think Area 5. But, sense she is from here it makes more sense.
  21. I'd start with a Want To Buy ad here or on the USPSA classifieds.
  22. Nothing against the young lady, but THE PHOTO was taken in the western US (CA, AZ, NV? - hello mountains?). Just strikes me as odd for an Area 5 (midwest) match booklet cover photo. No that I have that out... If I can't vote for my own (an Area 5 SC taken by and A5 shooter...ahem), I'm voting for #1. Great action shot of TT (was that taken in Ohio earlier this year). Vote on!
  23. Here's one taken by me of Indiana Section Coordinator, Jake Martens
