  1. Kim - what's the difference between your R125-A and R135-A bullet?
  2. http://www.lensprotogo.com/sale/canon/canon-lenses/ I saw that these folks were having a sale on used gear.
  3. Same boat. I just sold a 17-50 f/2.8 Tamron and immediately went down to Roberts and bought a used 17-40 f/4 L. I've got L glass now from 17 through 200 mm. The next step is to be f/2.8 through that whole range. As I type this, I have to correct myself. My next purchase will likely be a Canon 85 f/1.8 for portraits. I've been reading Zack Arias' blog quite a bit lately and he highly praises this lens. Besides, the L version is just ridiculous at >$2k If you're interested in nature photography, check out www.naturescapes.net . Awesome resource and they provide great feedback on your images. The classifieds also are top notch. I pickup up my 1D MkII N from there and it has been awesome. Lots of long glass for sale there, too.
  4. 1. people who don't paste/reset steel 2. high round counts for high round count's sake 3. matches that don't flow/backups/waiting (don't run a short course right into a huge course) 4. more than two carnival props on a stage (too long to reset, score, prone to breakdown) 5. stages designed to play to the strength of the designer - challenge should be universal

  6. Nope, bushing gun. It's a 6" Metallic Sight gun I had built for Bianchi in 2006.
  7. I know or have read that Bruce Piatt (for one, I'm sure there are others) have a 9mm barrel fit to match guns that normally shoot 38 Super. Does anyone have direct experience with this? The first, "cheap" option I thought of was to order a Kart EZ Fit 9mm barrel and do it myself. But, looking at Brownells, it doesn't appear that Kart makes a 6" 9mm bushing barrel any longer. Does anyone know? Or, is it more like if you order it, Fred Kart will make it? If it matters at all, I do have an SV slide with IBF if I wanted to do it right. But, if it is as simple as a barrel swap to keep the costs down, I'd like to know that. TIA
  8. Nevermind - went to Sharing and DVD/CD was not checked. Seems to be working now.
  9. The SuperDrive on my wife's Macbook (2006 13.3" Intel 2.0, OS X 10.4.11) crapped out. So I bought a Samsung SE-S084 as a replacement and so we could upgrade to Snow Leopard. When I put a blank DVD disc into the drive, I can see it in Disc Utility. But, it shows it as Read Only. Also in DU, in ATA drives, I see nothing (it's as if the SuperDrive isn't there). Under USB, I do see the external drive. How can I get this Mac to see this drive?
  10. I've been using a 6377 on my 6004 chassis with a G17 for several months in 3gun. Love it. Reliable and very easy to use. Great retention.
  11. I saw it this morning with the wife. We both liked it a lot. The girl is priceless.
  12. I read an interview with one of the Cohen brothers. He said that their version is more true to the book - a story as seen through the eyes of a 14 year old girl. And, that it's violent like the book (as if there would be much doubt of that with a Cohen Bros. production). I am looking forward to seeing it.
  13. Yes it is for breaking ties. But not only when you fire a perfect score.
  14. I turned to my wife and friends at the end and said "wow!" Arronofsky is twisted. Portman is exquisite. Kunis is yummy. The story has claws - hard to watch and addicting at the same time.
  15. I downloaded the album on iTunes and I'm really digging it all. The members seem a bit odd at first glance, considering their own genres, but this just goes to show how much bands like Thin Lizzy, Sabbath, and others had on all of them.
  16. Bianchi X-ring is a 4" circle. At 25 yds, you have 5 seconds to hit two of them, 6 seconds to hit two twice, 7...
  17. Tony Holmes ran one or a while and did/does very well with it.
  18. When loading weakhanded, the first two shells are much faster and easier than the 3rd and definitely the 4th. Watching Keith Garcia's video I'm trying to see if he's doing anything I'm not to roll those shells up into position. Is there anything you do differently with the 3rd and 4th shell? I'm starting to practice with just those two in my hand, in the position they'd be in if I'd already loaded 1 and 2.
  19. I've seen enough videos of War Ensemble to know how Tom intros this song. But, his intro here scared the crap out of me. Tom Araya's beard > Chris Costa's beard
  20. It was because of Jim and his range that I met a lot of people I now consider my friends. And, for that, I am grateful that I knew Jim. I found this, written by Massad Ayoob
  21. I've done some searching, but can't find what I'm remembering (or hallucinating, but anyway). I was thinking that some time ago someone asked why low-powered variable scopes are so relatively expensive when compared to their bigger, high magnification cousins? Does anyone remember this or know the answer? What I recall is that it has something to do with how complex they are, especially if trying to include a true 1x on the low end. Or, am I imagining things?
  22. I saw thus a few months back.. They look preaty sweet. Are you going to get them? No
  23. Well, don't this beat all? http://www.dueckdefense.com/about-dueck-defense.asp
