  1. i have already contacted JP and they said it will not work. if you reverse the pad it does not line up with the base of the release and when pressed it will hit the frame of the gun before releasing the mag.
  2. Does anyone know of a aftermarket mag release that allows you to reverse the pad/button? Most of the aftermarkets point to the rear for a RH shooter to use with the thumb but I am a LF shooter and would like the button to point towards the front for easier use of my trigger finger.
  3. if you do it off the shell plate then you have to take care and take off the exact amount from all 4 slots so you have consistent reloads.
  4. Amen to that. Perhaps they know something we don't though or its the money, guns and lawyers messing with them and these new fangled idea's... Well other die makers do this just not Dillon. Like I said the usual fix is to spend more moeny to replace the resizing die with a lee or egw die to size lower on the case. Dillon has stell bellow the carbide and a wider bevel than the rest. We emailled Dillon about it and I doubt we were the first considering the number of people on here who use Dillon and have had the same issue. It doesn't seem to be as big of a problem in other calibers so it seems like they would remodel the 40 die because of this. Anyway, for those using Dillon for 40, here is a possible fix without having to shell out more money. Mabe one day Dillon will fix it for future loaders.
  5. Like many others who reload .40 on a dillon with dillon dies, i was having the battle of the case bulge. the dillon dies (in .40) just don't size far enough down the case to get the loaded rounds to case gauge properly. many on here have bought lee dies or the EGW die to fix the problem but i took some advice from a few on here and "fixed" the dillon die before shelling out more cash. at my company i have access to precision metal working equipment and more importantly, someone who knows how to use it. it was an added bonus that the guy who can use the equipment is a big reloader / gun guy. using a lathe he took off 0.025" total (0.022" of steel and 0.003" of carbide). this has fixed the problem as now all rounds case gauge (the occasional one is lightly snug but most drop in) while before the fix is seemed like almost half would not go in the gauge. (he used a diamond grinder to take off carbide) the other post involving this fix were guys just grinding off a couple hundredths of steel off of the bottom and it seemed to work for them. they were using bench grinders so taking off carbide was not an option without destroying the die. just wanted to share my experience with the board so others may use this fix instead of spending additional money on a lee or EGW. hell at worst if you mess up the die then you can get one of the others.
  6. filed/sanded rough spots in mag tubes, rounded/bevel inner edges a bit and did the follower tuning in ninemmbill's post. now i can load 20 without the followers hanging up and sticking at the base. all 4 mags will hold a full 20 and function properly and i'll be able to reload with 19 in a mag. thanks for the help guys.
  7. congrats.....wife and I just had child #2 a couple months ago. child #1 is a massive life changing experience for sure......
  8. welcome.....lots of info to be found here for sure. waaaay more than a few nuggets.
  9. good to know...thanks for the info. i will likely get this one when the time comes that I need it. I'm all about saving money for the right product.

    Painting!

    ditto on hating to paint....
  11. thanks guys.....i'll give it that a shot and let you know the outcome. what are your mag capacities (initial - LAMR and reloadable) for those running +5 mag extensions on the glock?
  12. i'll check them out and smooth the surfaces and see how it works..... yeah the ones that didn't stick could fit 20 and reload 19. i'd like to be able to load mag #1 with 20 so that I could run 20+1 using a barney at LAMR then leave the rest at 19 so that they can be reloaded reliable and not have to worry about not latching in mag well.
  13. I have 4 glock mags with Taylor Freelance +5 extensions with +10% wolf springs and #8 glock OEM followers. On several of the mags if I load to 20 the follower will stick at the bottom of the mag and not push the rounds up. I'll have to shake out all of the rounds then use a "stick" to push on the follower to get it to pop back up. Any suggestions on what to look for on how to fix this?
  14. true you can shoot 9mm glock in open. i had limited on the brain.....
  15. i just bought this week and haven't got to shoot it yet, but i have looked for this same question. it seems like the most common spring weight for the 35 shooting major is a 15lb. take a look in the "spring" forum as the entire forum is dedicated to springs. do a search in that one for "glock 35" and you'll find quite a few examples of what people use in the 35. recoil spring weight is a "feeling"....as in what feels good to one shooter may not to another. also, if you go too light you will likely have reliability problems.....
  16. probably...but as far as "major" in reference to USPSA, you can not shoot 9mm in major. min caliber is .40 to make major not matter the power factor.
  17. nice reloads. i am a lefty shooter also and just got a glock 35 to get into USPSA. anyway, it looks like your are press in the mag release with you trigger finger? this is what i do so i was wondering how the mag release on the glock works for you? is it the standard, ext or aftermarket? thanks.
  18. There's also a shot timer app from Surefire that works great. +1 on the Surefire timer app. saved me from having to by one for a while.
  19. awesome.....i just got a glock 35 to shoot limited and will be working up some loads when i get a chance. looks like alot of guys are hitting major with the starting load of 4.2gr of titegroup. i guess i'll start just under 4.0 and work up from there. when you are testing loads to chrono for PF....how many do you usually make/test at each "load" (10, 15, ?)
  20. nice work.....speaking of i need to practice.
  21. my 1.195 oal loads use 4.7gr TG andf a 180 gr MG JHP. my 'glock' load is 1.135, same mg 180 gr, 4.2 gr TG and it makes major (so far!) out of both my g-22 and g-35. YMMV. are the 180 mg for you glock FMJ or JHP?
  22. i went with the .300 x .100 .......thanks for the input
  23. thanks for the input.....looks like some of you are getting major out of starting loads for titegroup. i guess i'll start at 4.2 which is the published starting load on hodgdon.com and go from there. what kind of velocity increase are you guys seeing with titegroup from winter to summer?
