Anyone know the reason behind him shooting production the whole year and then shooting open at big matches.(like the world shoot)?

Back from uspsa production nationals. Overall, I'm happy with my performance. I was 10th overall and high junior. This match was probably my biggest match yet and it was definitely a good experience. (will try to add video) Although I've been happy with the m&p since day 1, I'm thinking about going the CZ route since I plan on doing IPSC also...

My magazines (10) were NOT in my hard sided gun case. I had no problems...My expierence was that the check in clerks were absolutely clueless and security procedures varied greatly.

Ammunition can be in the same bag but has to be in separate container right? Just making sure i know the rules 100%. Btw, anyone know about how much ammo in dillon boxes is 11 pounds? I'm estimating about 400 rounds but I will have to weigh to verify.

What is your mindset going into a match and during the match.(before shooting a stage) Focused? Calm? Care-free? Prepared? Nothing?

Ya, I've found that I shoot my best when I just shoot my sights. As long as I am seeing and calling my shots, my run will turn out okay.

How far in advance is everyone shipping their ammo?

I think one of my problems is that I'm not totally 100% honest with myself during dryfire. I sometimes tend to run through drills in dryfire faster than what I can "call" my shots. I guess the only remedy is to just force myself to see the sight each and every trigger press no matter what?

Seems to me that it represents no emotion, just do.

Should this "lack of emotion" be used on match days as well?

This will primarily be a USPSA/IPSC gun so I'm thinking the SP 01 is the way to go...

Thanks for the info. It seems that most folks tend to have the SP 01 shadow. Is this true or just my perception?

Thanks for the replies. EAAs are hard to come by...but I have felt and shot a shadow and really enjoyed it.

Are the shorter base pads for the m&p production legal?

IPSC nats is this weekend. Probably my biggest match so far but going to try and treat it like any other match. I've been dry firing like crazy with my 5lb trigger m&p. LOL I'm just going to try and shoot my game and nothing else. I think one of my main focuses is going to be accuracy. I've noticed I've always placed better when I actually hit the target, go figure! But, should be a good match and im looking forward to it. Jason

Where would you guys recommend shopping around for a CZ for production? I've heard CZ custom shop, Mink and Akai. Thinking about switching over from M&P for IPSC...

Turns out I shot 91% overall...a little better lol

Sounds like fun...lol I'm sure CF requires mental toughness along with physical toughness just like wrestling.

Back from the FL state match. Overall, I shot ok but I know I could've shoot better. The main issue had to deal with long shots and hardcover/no shoots. I had way too many penalties. (4 mikes, 2 NS). But, at least I know what to practice in live fire now. In the end, I was 3rd overall production at 88% of HOA production. I took first "A" class and high junior. IPSC nats are around the corner...off to practice! Jason
