-Steel/ss guide rod
-Wolff 11lb/12ld recoil spring
-Mag release button from 92 stock--the one from Elite is hard to find
-15lb 1911 hammer spring--i prefer this compare to a D spring
-a little bit of polishing
Guys, I need your suggestion. I've replaced the recoil spring of my gun's 5/16" tungsten guide rod (uncaptured) with a wolff XDM 14lb spring. The gun is still working and I'm able to finish a match without any problem; but I'm now having trouble removing the slide from the frame.
Thanks for the suggestion; and i'll definitely start using a 3/8" guide rod with an XDM spring, when I resolve this issue.
I've had better result by using a 15lb hammer spring for a 1911. I use Federal primers; so I'm not worried about light hits.
Skeletonized hammer will help too; but i'd rather use the one from Elite model.
My mag release button initially felt heavy; but after a lot of dry fires/usages, it started to feel normal. Give it some time.
Glock can definitely be more lighter; but you can also accidentally drop your mag while shooting.
Nobody has challenged me on it yet; probably because they are more curious why i'm still shooting a Beretta. The good thing is, it's more easier to prove that it's a legal part for a production gun.
Regarding SSP, I don't shoot IDPA; but I hope you can use it. Good luck!
I use it on my Production gun; it's from 92 Stock, which is on the approved list. I have to admit, however, that it's very expensive for a mag release.
For me, there's not much difference on the handling; but I prefer the trigger on the XDM over the G34 (even if my trigger jobs were both professionally done).
By any chance, do you know Dawson's part number for it? I've just called them; and their Customer Service is giving me a mag release for a 2011 (part#013-003)
I've initially referenced a part#519-1552 from a previous post; but it's not a good #. Thanks again!
Definitely use a caliper; I prefer dial over electronic, but they'll both do the job. Also, use a flat nose/truncated cone bullet or a hollow point; this will give you an ammo length of approx. 1.09" to 1.10"--it solved my problem when I was having the same issue.
Congrats on the new press!
I've also just received my 1050 today; so thanks to Brian, for a great deal--free shipping and bullet tray, not to mention the luck of having a Saturday FedEx Ground Delivery.
You already have a good set-up. If you are not happy with the trigger-pull of your gun, you can just buy a trigger-kit from Vanek, Glockworx, Bobby Carver, etc.--this would still cost way less than $660.
My vote goes to Adidas Men's Turf Hog LE Mid Baseball Cleat.
I think the down-side of finding the right shoes is, you don't really get to find out whether you have made the right decision in selecting a good pair until after you've used it; and it's already too late to return it. So, just like what Jim Norman said, take 20-30 minutes to try it in the store (you can also go technical on it by figuring-out your arch-type first).
