  1. You might try contacting Mike Dillon at Dillon Precision in Scottsdale, Az. If anyone might have an answer for you, it would be Mike. Bill
  2. Iggy42, I just received my 4th XD/XDm from Springer. So absolutly, I'd have them build me one again. They rock! I have an XDm .40 S&W for limited. It's a great choice. My latest is an XDm 5.25 for production. My suggestion is, call Scott and buy it from him. Then have him build it your way. Saves shipping one way and he offeres a good price. Go to his web site and open the XDm work order. You can price it all right there and know what your costs will be. By the way, I have absolutely nothing against Powder River or Canyon Creek. I just have no experience with them. I'm positive you could call either and do exactly the same as I recommend above and get a great gun with a great trigger at a good price. Pick the one you like and go for it. Good luck, Bill
  3. Me too!! This thing shoots like a compensated gun. Muzzle flip is virtually nill. Just awesome! Bill
  4. Robley, I guess it depends on your intended use for the holster. Carry, IDPA, USPSA? And also your budget. If I had a fat budget and was shooting USPSA Limited or L10 I'd go for a DAA Race Master. I don't have that kind of budget. I use a Blade Tech DOH for both Production and Limited and think it is a great holster. I perfer the belt loop rather than the TekLok but that's a personal thing. One nice thing about the Blade Tech DOH, you can take the drop/offset attachment off and I believe the holster is legal for IDPA. Not positive though as I don't shoot IDPA. Someone in the know will most likely confirm this or correct me, which is fine, Bill
  5. Paul, You won't have long to wait. I ordered mine yesterday about 10:00 am. Scott shipped it this afternoon. I'm looking forward to getting it. Bill
  6. Last I checked Springer still had one or two. I have one (in .40S&W) Scott did and another(a 5.25) coming. His triggers are great and service is outstanding. Good Luck, Bill
  7. I've bought 4 XD's or XDm's from Scott at Springer Precision. 2 with Carry triggers and 2 with competition triggers, and a few other tweaks. I can't complement Scott and his crew enough. They do great work and do it promptly. You just can't go wrong dealing with them. Bill
  8. Racer377, Have you given any thought to the new Springfield XDm 5.25? A couple threads here indicate some pretty good accuracy. Price seems to be between the M&P Pro and the CZ's. Just a thought. Bill
  9. Ted, Try the 'Save.html' button. It will save the file to the EZWinScore data directory. The popup box will tell you the name of the file and the path. The name in the popup box will imply what the file contains, i.e. 'Limited' or 'Production' results. Or maybe 'Pistol Finals All Divisions'. It all depends on what you last selected on the EZWinScore Calculate Results screen. And the HTML files are somewhat smaller than the equivalent .PDF file. Hope this gives you another option. Bill
  10. I have a Dawson adjustable rear and a Dawson .265 Fiber Optic front on my 5" M&P Pro. I'm currently shoot Montana Gold 124 gr JHP at 133 PF +-. I have had absolutely no adjustment issues with mine. Right in the middle of the range, maybe a few clicks closer to the bottom. This is also the 3rd M&P I've had with the same sight combination. two 5" and one 4.5". No problems. My .02 worth. Bill
  11. Jim Scoutten commented on Jerry going for his 18th IRC if I remember correctly. I think that would make it the 2009 IRC Bill
  12. You might have him try a Sig 226. There are a few on the production list. All Sig's seem to have larger grips. Bill
  13. Mitch, Scroll down a bit from the Revolver forum. Find the 'Miscellaneous' heading. The dealer tent is right there. All good places to deal with. I almost always check the dealer tent first. Bill
  14. SSS is in the BE Dealer tent. Deal with confidence! Never had a problem! Bill
  15. Your error message pasted below. Entry at row 1 is invalid format: 5/22/2011 09:00 Schedule not updated. Please fix these problems and try again. The problem is the '2011'. Try it using '11'. I tried a bunch of them and '2011' fails with the above error. Entering a month of '01'or '09' will fail but '1' or '9' will work. This was reported to USPSA a couple months ago. Disappointed that it has not been corrected. And Very Sorry I caused you to loose a year. None of can afford that. Bill
  16. Yep, it sure is. Reading one thing and think another. I had 4/22/11 in my head. I'll try updating my schedule again using that date. Bill
  17. It looks to me like they are editing the date and not letting anything prior to todays date to be entered. I just tested with 1/01/12 and it worked well. But 1/01/11 was rejected with the error you mentioned. Bill
  18. Half a dozen Mec-Gar's for the same price as 2 or 3 Sig'. Go for it! Read up a bit on mag tuning. Mostly make sure the front of the feed lips are about .005 - .007 wider in the front than the rear. Then clean off any burrs or sharp edges and buff the edge with a Dremel or something similar. You should then be good to go. You hear complaints of nose diving jams and such with Sig's. I made sure the feed lips were right and have never had a problem. Not one! As an aside, if you are looking for mag pouches you might contact Chris Buell at cbuell77@yahoo.com . He makes some reallly nice Kydex pouches to fit your magazines. And VERY inexpensively. I have a bunch of them and they work well. Bill
  19. First off, I cannot speak to anything IDPA, only USPSA. Mec-Gar magazines are fine for USPSA production divisions. The only restrictions is fitting into the box when in the gun. Mec-Gar makes the magazines for Sig, the only difference is the Sig logo and, in some cases, the finish. I guess the fact that Mec-Gar's are about half or less the price is also a big difference. Try Greg Cote for magazines. Great service and prices. You are correct on the grips, no magwell type extension for production division. Replacement grip panels are OK. For a holster I would recommend looking at the Blade-Tech DOH before you buy the Black Hawk. Especially if the Black Hawk has the level 2 retention. Hope this is helpful. Bill
  20. +1 to Waktasz's comment. The Dawson adjustable rear is .125 or very close to that. My eyes are going on 71 years and this is the best combination I've found. Bill
  21. Jim, Glad I was able to help. Bill
  22. Helodad, Just took mine apart and looked. The little spacer is between the frame and the de-cock lever. That part of the gun was last assembled by Scott at Apex Tactical, so I'm pretty sure it is in the correct order. Hope this helps. Bill

From your original posting it looks like you can replace internal parts under IPSC production rules, correct?? The question on springs makes me think so. If so, you can make an M&P a very nice shooting handgun. I have one, with all APEX internal parts. APEX parts are about $125.00 US. With the APEX parts installed there is no visible change on the outside of the gun. Edited to Add - You can also make a very nice trigger on an M&P with just some stoning and polishing. Dan Burwell has an excellant video posted that will guide you through the whole process. Mine has a trigger pull right at 2.25 lbs. with a very crisp reset. The factory trigger is advertised at 4 to 5.5 lbs. and I found it kind of gritty but usable. I think the M&P is every bit as accurate as this game needs and very reliable. At least the more recent production of the M&P Pro has been reliable for me. There were extraction problems early on but I believe that has been corrected. I have never had any problems in any of the 3 M&Ps that I have owned, not once. The M&P grip angle is much like a 1911 and has replaceable grip inserts to enable fitting to each individual. The M&P Pro comes with adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight. M&P's seem to be catching the Glock's in production, may even have passed them. Well worth looking in to. Handle one if at all possible, you might like it. Again, all the above is just one man's experience/opinion. Take it for what it is worth to you. Bill White Mountains of Arizona

Buy a Sig 226 X-Five Allround. Yes it is more money, but it has adjustable sights from the factory. Nothing has to be done to start shooting. It is all stainless, so the wear factor is greatly reduced. Magazines, holsters etc. are readily available. Blade-Tech DOH works for me. It is reliable and dead accurate. You can shoot it out of the box. Mine wasn't bad but I felt it could be better. Unfortunately, I didn't measure the pull weight before getting it tuned. After some trigger work, mine has a very smooth but a bit heavy double action pull. About 7 or 8 lbs. The single action pull is fantastic at about 2.5 lbs. I've shot a 226 9mm Equinox, 2 Xdm's and 2 M&P's in production. The X-5 is superior to all in my opinion but I do have an M&P that is close. If you like the plastic guns the M&P would be a good choice. It has a totally different feel than the Glock. Take this 'personal opinion' for what it is worth to you. Whatever you decide, enjoy shooting, shoot often and be safe!! Bill White Mountains of Arizona
