  1. Taran has 2 safeties on his site, anyone know the difference between the 2?
  2. Thanks guys. I'll look into the recommended springs from SS.
  3. I'm using the new 3 Gun Stuff polymer zoomer. It's a nice piece of gear, fit perfectly, is super light weight, and is relatively inexpensive. The only thing I might change is the dark blue color of the polymer, but it's not a big deal.
  4. My M & P 9mm is a touch sensitive to certain primers (using Fed now no problems). Has anyone tried something like a Wolff extra power Glock spring (6lbs)? Did it make any difference?
  5. I have an MTAC. 1.5X would be a definite disadvantage IMO. The thing to remember about the MTAC is that the reticle is not a precision type. It's great for speed but as the distance increases and the target shrinks the 2.4 MOA center dot starts covering the target. For shooting steel out at 400 yds. it's fine, but it's just too course for tiny groups at 600 yds. I rarely shoot at 600 so for my needs in 3gun the fast reticle, wide field of view, 1X are what I wanted. Also 3 gun stuff just came out with a new polymer zoom lever for the MTAC, $40, ultra light weight,I got mine last week and will be using the 1st time this Sat.
  6. Those comps are massive in size and weight. I think they weigh like 8oz.
  7. Wow, never seen that before. That's got to be the worst malfunction I've ever seen.
  8. Impact Weapons Components has a hand stop that mounts directly to hg. Just bolt it on through one of the 6 o'clock slots.
  9. I just ordered a 15" AP custom carbon fiber hg. It weighs 6.5oz with the mount. It screws onto the mount, no glueing. I have also seen longer AP's 17" to 18".
  10. I talked to AP today. The handguard is 2in accross. No, it felt just fine in my hand, some of the newer handguards are smaller than 2in. Aaron at AP verified that the 15in. does weigh 6 oz. including the mount. He also mentioned that only one person has ever returned one but not because it broke. Hopefully someone will come along here and relate his experience.
  11. Anyone have experience using these? I handled one Sat. and it seemed like a nice piece. Very light weight, the 15in. is supposed to be approx. 6 oz. Are they sturdy?
  12. I attached mine fairly close to the ejection port. I put the velcro on the smooth part of the handguard. You need to be careful though, don't get so close to the ejection port that when it has shells in it they will block the ejecting shells. I'm left handed, that position works pretty well if I need a quick slug, or I mess up and run the the gun dry. I have seen some put it in the middle/side of the handguard, but that would definitely get in my way.
  13. The company that made the fiber sight for the ghost ring front is Bettendorf Custom Firearms. Unfortunately they bit the dust. I have one on my M1 S90 tactical. I know of no one making something similar right now, sorry.
  14. Called SA, the fellow said .220 needs fitting. The .220 radius is actually a constant radius. The frame is a compound. I'll keep looking for now.
  15. Thanks eerw I talked to SA a couple a years ago on this issue, they said it was not a drop in. I think I'll call them again, maybe talk to someone else for a second opinion.
  16. I have looked into Brownells. The problem is that Spingfield uses a proprietary grip safety, the frame is oddly radiused. No one makes one to fit without modifying the frame, I am trying to avoid this.
  17. Anyone know where I can get a grip safety for my Springfield Loaded model? Springfield won't sell them. Need a new one to adjust to my new trigger.
  18. Yep,Yep I see those hooma-dingys. Thanks Tom
  19. Kurt I don't see the term "carrier dog" used in my Benelli manual, could you explain what it is? When you say file the rear inside of the slot, you are referring to the lifter slot, right? In the manual I think they refer to the lifter as the "carrier". Tom
  20. Hey John A friend of mine burned out the throat on an AR-180 he had. He uses flat based bullets, and with these it still groups pretty well. Might be worth a try.
  21. Nice glass.......in line with the Leupold VXII 1-4 and Weaver 1-3. Wouldn't be my choice but it would work. I started with a Leupold 1-4. I have one in the Burris mount on my 20". I also have the Weaver 1-3 on my carbine. It is a nice scope for the money. Better glass than the Weaver, but that is to be expected. It is a true 1x. I used it Sat. for the 1st time in a match, worked well, I really liked the 4x at 300 yds. Got it from Optics Planet for 279.00, the mount was 75.00, free shipping. They also gave me a 5% discount because I had to wait about 3 months for it. The only thing I didn't like was the funky turret cap for hori adjustment. Has bright gold lettering and a water buffalo. Called Nikon, they sent me plain black one for free. ah thanks! so, I would think the G4 reticle would be definitely better in low light and probably faster overall your take? The G4 does tend help in bracketing the target, it seems to force your eye to the center. I have not tried it in low light, but it is a pretty bright scope for the price. I would think that would help. If the light is too low, the reticle will probably wash out, especially on a dark target.
  22. Nice glass.......in line with the Leupold VXII 1-4 and Weaver 1-3. Wouldn't be my choice but it would work. I started with a Leupold 1-4. I have one in the Burris mount on my 20". 23. I've used 24.5g, and am using 25g now. Both were accurate, and worked well. 25g got me alittle bit more velocity, maybe 50 fps.
  24. Did some some testing and shot a match with the new mag spring, so far gun has functioned well. Will being shooting another match this Sat. I will post again with my results.
  25. I have a Weaver 1-3 on a flattop carbine that works, although like some have said it's a little short on the top end. If your not shooting past about 250yds at anything too small it might work for you. I have a Nikon 1-4 x 20 on order, it's brand new, I'm going to put it on a 20" flattop. It's about $275. As for the scope going on the carry handle, it will probably work ok at close range, 50-60 yds, but anything long range is going to get tougher without a good cheek weld.
