Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. and, as demonstrated by Max Michel at Area 5, you can still beat the Open guys
  2. Thanks, the 101 looks great, seems like there's room to include a magnifier. Hoping for something around .75 inch, according to my highly scientific studies involving stacked pieces of old USPSA targets and duct tape. Emailed Unity, they say their riser adds .665, so that's pretty close to perfect. CTD / Midway have tons of options -- I didn't realize there were so many. Looks like I'm spoiled for choice Thanks all
  3. The only one I know of is https://www.unitytactical.com/product/fast-riser-optic-mount/
  4. Love the EXPS-2 on my PCC, but I'd like to raise it up a bit. Since it's already on a QD mount from the factory, I'm not sure it's possible. I've seen lots of risers for the little Aimpoints and optics with that footprint, but not sure what my options are. Thanks for any info!
  5. Until I read this thread, I had no idea that Lok grips offered any significant customization. The web page where I placed my order (https://lokgrips.com/gun-grips/cz-75/palm-swell/bogies/black-g10/) just says their idea of customization is a grip liner (the orange line visible above in mpeltier's post, I think) . There's simply no hint on that page that they do the kind of work we see in this thread. Being a lefty, I asked them if they could switch the thumb relief to the right-side grip for me, and they kindly agreed, and at no charge. I thought that was pushing the envelope If I had known I could have grips that made me look like I robbed Liberace, like superkaratemonkeyfighter, well, lets not even go there...

    CZ HIRERCHY

Guns mesh with different people differently. The A01-LD and I get along best of all the CZs. I really prefer the smaller, rounded trigger guard. Odd how such a small detail makes such a difference for me. After that, the AccuShadow 2 and I get along great.
  7. I have the Lok grip palm swell bogies for my CZ. Hated the upper bump -- it's exactly in the way of doing anything (pulling the trigger, reloading) once you have a proper high grip. This portion: So, 5 minutes with some files to get rid of those upper bumps and now they're perfect for me. Love the texture and the size. Previously I had the thick Double Alpha grips. They're well-made, but no grip compared to the VZ Diamondbacks or the Lok grips. The vertical lines down the back edge seemed to be exactly the wrong orientation to help fighting recoil.
  8. The top two I've shot are the AccuShadow 2 and the A01-LD. Maybe my weirdness, but the biggest takeaway for me was the trigger guard. The rounded trigger guard of the A01 was really cooperative with the way I like to grip. The Shadow 2 trigger guard seems a bit too big, and is a tiny bit in my way. Could I adapt? Of course. But why bother, when the A01 is right there? Gonna be a totally personal decision, and imo the only wrong answer would be to fail to try them both.
  9. So if this little FCU is the firearm, how will USPSA calculate the weight of the firearm for prod / CO? How long before they release the Laugo Alien grip module and slide?
  10. Tell CBP if they want to auction it off I'll place a bid...
  11. I feel your pain and look forward to any creative solutions. My current thought it to win the lottery, buy a gigantic mobile home and drive it to all matches. I can then set up a nice little dryfire / airsoft course inside the mobile home, and warm up to my heart's content. I wonder if most ranges would mind if I were running around in an unused bay or corner with, say, a SIRT pistol or something to warm up, or if that would scare too many attendees?
  12. ErichF talked me into the Dawson .100 fiber optic front. I really enjoyed the stock FO front, but the larger light bars somehow make it quicker / easier to center for me, and even give a little peripheral vision in the sight pic that really helps for close transitions.
  13. This exact thing happened to me on my first-ever stage with a Texas Star. Struggled so hard with it that all I could think about was how much time I had wasted. Ran right past the next array of targets directly to the finishing array of targets. Didn't even register in my brain that I had ran past targets until after the stage and someone woke me up from my adrenaline-haze and told me. Definitely a moment
  14. I'd bring more ammo to an average USPSA match than I would bring to an average IDPA match.
