  1. Look carefully at your Tanfoglio, you will see that they are made with the barrel pointing down a few degrees. Some mount manufacturers take this into account and some don't. A parallel mount will still sight in but your's will be true to the bore. Cheers Floydian
  2. Thanks PHX I do all my own work, It is tedious time consuming stuff to get a good result, takes 2-4 days mucking about sand-blasting (120 mesh garnet), mixing, spraying, acetone cleanup and the electric or gas $bill for baking parts repeatedly sure got my missus attention .
  3. Hi PHX Ours in Cerakote (oven bake), this stuff hangs on if you can get it on real thin. Floydian
  4. Hey Kwesi, Try some ink, paint marker or white out on the mag & try fitting with the grips off. This should reveal where the snag is. Floydian
  5. Hi 93Civiccpe, By Cone Lockup I mean cone lockup slide to comp as you have found out. With your setup the slide, barrel & comp are left assembled for most of the part, meaning the comp is permanent. For cleaning its easy to work with just the slide/barrel/comp and the guide rod & spring removed. If I have to pull a comp off: Soft jaws in the vice & soft flame/heat on the comp & soft thick leather in the jaws of some very large multi grips. The thread is right handed. I refit mine with Locktite 638, the green stuff, but everyone has their own favorite for this. The newer mag releases have a much larger catch to key into the mag slot. The newer mags also have a thinner slot. Stops any up & down slop/movement of the mag in the frame. I would do the mag catch but the magazines themselves are not as important. Pretty sure Henning has a thread or some comment on this. Off topic but both our Gold Teams have polagonal rifling & will not group the new breed of thin copper jacket electroplated over lead! They are very accurate otherwise. There is a lot of space to play with more porting behind your 3 ports & keep to factory look/spec 93Civiccpe. No reason why you shouldn't shoot that gun in competition, we all do , Happy Blasting & Easter Floydian
  6. Hi, Fresh Paintjob over Easter, "Oven bake" Satin Mag, Graphite Black & Stop Light Red. This is my Wifey & Sons small frame 9mm Gold Team. Cheers Floydian
  7. Nice find 93Civiccpe, Thats an original, is it a cone lock-up? Very rare & retro style mount, comp & trigger, hard to find these old parts nowdays. Have the mag-release checked, you will probably need 2003/04 onward type. Same deal with any mags that came with it, if they have the large slot like old P-9s. For I.P.S.C you may want an ambi safety. If you want Major but don't want to stress your slide consider hand loading near maximum length ammo and heavier projectiles like 135s will launch your slide back a little slower. Nice firm recoil springs to start with, fresh 12lb &10lbs. Maybe a forth port for major? although be a shame to butcher that original oldskool comp. The longer Henning firing pins give these guns 100% detonation & he does one for the small frame. Hope something here helps Good Luck Floydian
  8. That formular was given to me by an old timer who sold me my first Tanfog back in 1992 or 93, worked great for many years in combats & later longslide models that were standard/stock guns. I sometimes run a 9mm Limited(SMALL CUSTOM FRAME)nearly identical to your Stock 2. (Win230 behind 160gn lead & Fed small rifle primers,10-12lb guide rod spring. Have fun Jim
  9. Hi Jim, 4.2 of WST will get you around 125pf with 125 grain lead, copper will want more powder. Probably won't cycle reliably until you work the loads up to over 130 pf. 4.5 grains is a nice load. Cheers
  10. 34 coils including the spring tangs Dyroe, Wire on my 10lb is .04164" Length of a fresh one is around 4.9" Cheers
  11. Full ceramic oven bake coating, first attempt although frame took 3 go's to get it right. (H-151) Floydian
  12. Awesome blaster Jmcmanis, The trigger-guard, serrated top strap & magwell fit are !!! can't find the words, maybe "surreal". Floydian
  13. One off homemade, suited to their really small hands. Floydian
  14. Really nice Cha-Lee, looks world class, I reckon they look better hard chromed all over without the dressed sides!! Lee
  15. These don't fit the V12 Shooterbenedetto without a huge amount of gun smithing ,they are made for long-slides, Limited, Match & Gold Custom. The V12 seems to be only available as a complete top-end that includes the slide and downunder they have that grey/gun metal GK coating so it won't match our hard chromed silver frames. It's a conspiracy so you have to buy the whole gun:-) Was interesting to see the US EAA V12s were hard chromed? Regards Lee
  16. Yes Jody, poly barrel & even came in a Tanfoglio box. I will add more porting as their skills progress, maybe a V4 or V6. Regards Lee
  17. Now only 10+1 downunder in Aus Shooterbenedetto. I did have one of these small custom framed guns in the 1990s and it did empty the whole clip, about 23rns or 24 + 1 but you had to have mint condition brass, a really good full length resizing die, they had to be loaded maximum length so they were almost up the feed ramp before they could nose dive and easy on the crimp to keep the rounds more paralell so they stacked flatter inside the mag. Cheers Lee
  18. Hi Readers Thought some of you might like a look see at a new Comp-Kit in 9mm. Wifey & oldest son are bored with Standard Gun and keep wearing out my V8 so I am giving their Limited a makeover. Cracked the factory Locktite with very gentle flame & screwed comp on another turn, then precision ground the muzzle end of the slide for a nice 7-thou lockup gap clearance. Now just have to make them a custom mount & slide racker while they save for a C-more & flog my V8 some more!!! Cheers Lee
  19. Hey there Tanfogliofan If you are downunder, it was Petes Gun Works in N.S.W. He builds custom mover mounts for NRA. Found him by Googling SSAA articles. Cheers Lee
  20. Hey Tom I did this trigger just by templating the factory trigger over 7075 Aluminium billet. Just gave it more depth & a flat face on the back to make it look cool. I always admired the old "P9 World Cups" trigger being made of aluminium and wanted to give it a try. Works ok but aluminium does not lever/break the sear with the same crisp feel as steel. Regards Lee
  21. Hi ks-shooter & thanks, Material is 6061 Aluminium, glass bead blasted. Angle is factory, 45 degree or 90 degree included angle cutter. Length is 2.795" x Width 1.960" x Height .990" Found an old pic of an earlier attempt on our 9mm. Cheers Lee
  22. Hi Shooters I made this slide on attempt about 2005-06, has been posted before. It is based on the factory MW, but with larger shoulders, lands & radii to aid grip/hand compression. (& suit my medium-small hands). Currently only has a mouth opening as per factory size but could be opened right up. I don't have time to make these with a busy family, but if it helps give anyone ideas, discussion or some project assistance then I am happy. Regards Lee
