  1. I am planning to be a "participating spectator" at the World Shoot in Greece and due to harsh IATA-regulations I can't bring enough .38SC ammo with me on the plane and will have to rely on match ammo - which is only .38 Super Auto. Q: Does this work with a Tanfoglio V8? If yes, are there any things to consider (besides changing the extractor )?
  2. I am trying to get my Tanfoglio V8 open gun working properly. I need round nose bullets for sure. Do the bullets need to be .356 or is .355 plenty good? Herman // Norway
  3. Can a Wolff recoil spring for Tanfoglio also be used in a CZ SP-01? If so: is a 8 lbs. spring a good choice for minor loads through a CZ? Herman
  4. I have messed up the marking of my recoil springs and need to identify the 10 lb version. I need to know the length and number of coils. Can someone please help me out on this one?
  5. Does this mean that you can't bend the front of the feed lips towards each other, with for instance pliers, in order to acheive a distance somewhere between .380 and .390?
  6. If the feed lips are too wide it will allow the second round to sit too high and the breach could be hitting that second round because of it. OP said feed lips are at .415-.421 and .382 that sounds way wide to me, we are running 40cal mags at .380-.385 definitely no more then .390. How do you adjust the magazine feed lips without cracking the magazine body?
  7. I rounded off the corner of the breech with very fine sandpaper and now it seems to be working fine with the dummy rounds. I haven't had the time to test fire it though - but it is looking good! Thank you so much for sharing your excellent expertise - I really appreciate it!
  8. The three 24 round magazines I have measure 10,55 – 10,7 mm / 0,415- 0,421 and the big stick measures 9,7 mm / 0,382 in. This measure is at the end of the feed lips, before the start to curve down, towards the follower. Can the ammo have any affect? OAL: 30,88 mm / 1,216 in. The crimp is decent. Diameter at "case top": 9,63 mm / 0,379 in. Only new Starline 38SC brass. Bullet: 124 RN, Elliptical ogive (not the same as in the picutures, which is Berry's RN)
  9. Recently I have experienced quite a few stovepipe jams with my Tanfoglio 38 SC open gun. It has functioned flawlessly before. The problem occurs in both my big stick and normal size magazines (all supplied by Henning) In the last two matches it has jammed 7-8 out of app. 300 fired rounds. It is always the same stovepipe jam: the extracted case places sideways in the ejection port, stopping the next round from chambering. When I rack the slide with dummy rounds (without primers) it occurs with one of the last rounds in the magazine (second or third last). This occurs every time. I’m not sure if this is to be taken into account though… The gun has been cleaned well. This happens to different magazines. The extractor has been changed. Feed ramp is polished. The gun has about 4500 rounds through it. The scope mount has not been changed since the gun worked without jams I have no idea where to look for problems and appreciate every possible suggestion… Please see attached photos.
  10. I have read pages up and down about the JP CTR-02. From all I've heard it is an excellent choice for IPSC Rifle or 3-gun. The problem is that the bureaucrats at Dept. of Justice here in Norway is in no hurry for giving the rifle a quick approval. April 30th was the last time anything happened and I am not sure how many more months I am willing to wait. Therefor I am considering a DPMS lower (one of the few legal lowers over here), JP part a sun devil upper. Are the JP Rifles THAT much better? Do the Sun Deveil upper come with a forvard assist and/or ejector lump by the way? I Appreciate any helg
  11. I have had the same experience as you - and Torx is the only way to go! If you can't find the correct length - I couldn't: measure the correct length for each screw hole in the frame, put a nut on the screw, cut the screw to the desired length with a Dremel and finally unscrew the nut to restore the threads.
  12. Yes! A lot of lead build up in the comp! A couple of weeks ago somone told me this was due to the bullet's thin copper jacket. Do you know of any other issues related to Berry's?
  13. I normally shoot N-105 (9,6 gr) Honestly, I can't tell the difference between the two. On the other side, I'm not particularly good at noticing differences...
